Yautja is a metal band who incorporate elements of grindcore, sludge, and doom to form a fresh sound dubbed "thunder punk". Three vocalists take turns tearing through morose lyrical content over savage tones, pummeling drums and mercilessly complex riffs. I've watched this 20+ times full. They take all of the parts of heavy music I like and make it one band and I'll always come back to this video for that reason.
This band's writing and performance is fantastic. Kudos to whoever recorded and mixed the guitar - tone is perfect!

I just discovered this band by watching this video, and I can't believe how good they are. Apparently, they were right under my nose the whole time. I've seen some of their older bands. I think I might like this recording better than the "proper" releases, too.
Yeah dude...this recording definitely enhances the experience that is Yautja. And they're tight as fuck too, musically and instumentally. Saw them with Sumac and Infernal Coil last year at The Earl in Atlanta . They stole the show.
Damn. These are the lost saints of Tennessee. Can't wait until they're on tour again.

I caught Yautja without knowing them a few years back opening for can't remember who and holy shit they totally stole the night, these guys have such a powerful loud feeling live.

So when I saw you y'all in New York at St. Vitus just days before this was filmed I knew you guys were awesome, but it wasn't until a few days ago back here in Minneapolis that I was told how awesome and lucky I was to see you on at a random show out there. I was just out for there for a film festival and stumbled upon the show. Really glad I picked up a CD and a shirt.

A lot of His Hero Is Gone in the sound here, especially considering all three guys vocals. Great sound in the writing and playing- very diverse mix of the hard subgenres! Glad this is an Alabama band. Played great at Spring Street Firehouse a few months ago!

Right? i play drums and was seriously impressed with not only the drummer, but the guitarists amazing tone and control, makes a 300dollar ibanez or whatever sound like a hot rodded SG or les paul, fawking great to see new bands sound original. drummer looks like Mick Harris napalm death harmony corruption era.
For one thing, he is stacking riffs. Shibby is using a looper with some prerecorded riffs and is playing them in real time on top.

I think these guys are Sludgy Rock band with Extreme Instrumentation and Screaming Vocals. Yes, It's Rock than Metal, I feel that way for some reason.
