- On the afternoon of September 26, 2023, a day like any other in Nam-gu, South Korea, a routine test of an armored vehicle suddenly went awry. But as the waves lapped and engines hummed, water flooded the main cabin of the prototype too quickly for the crew to escape, claiming two lives inside what was supposed to be Korea’s latest achievement in marine warfare.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration of South Korea is on a relentless quest for answers, striving to unearth the truth behind this harrowing tragedy.
Whispers in the shadows suggest that this covert aquatic beast might be the elusive KAAV-II, a technological marvel born from the depths. A self-deploying juggernaut, it combines land and sea like never before, delivering Marines from ship to battlefield with unmatched precision and speed.
The pressure mounts for the developers of this classified wonder, kept from the public eye, as deadlines to begin production approach, and this incident sheds light on its flaws. - Věda a technologie
How hard would it be during the development stage to have scuba tanks on board for just such an emergency?
You would imagine they would test prototypes like this in shallow water & with scuba gear...
That would ve been a good idea !
Guessing that they didn't advise to bring scuba gear ???
Just in case ???
What no air in a can ???
I wonder why the US, SK, and Japan didn't work together in developing the next gen amphib? I mean, wouldn't it make sense to save on research and development. I would also help with supply chains and drastically lower the cost per unit. Seems to me like we missed an opportunity since all three have similar needs.
Oh, if only. Look into why the usa produces fighter keys for the world. We didn't give them much of an option
@@beilkster Fighter keys? Not sure what that means.
@@rickjames18 jets... sorry
South Korea and Japan didn't want the USA "leaking" the plans to the Biden's regimes master CHINA
They want to build their own weapons
That is why every amphibious operations should have emergency scuba tanks like the US Navy helicopter aircrew carry on their survival vests. Keep them as part of the amphib equipment mountedat every seating position The ampib crew carry as personal gear. Ya think that would be too much to ask for.
My childhood toy, I got as early teens GI Joes action figures
Thank you ❤❤❤❤
The Warthog A.I.F.V.
Carries 25 soldiers!!!? Impressive
Well ???
What really happened ???
Screen door?
Confusing, but understood: 40mm main gun (autoloader w/2 piece projectile projectile/propellant) plus 40mm grenade launcher (similar to mk19?). Wonder why they didn't go for a Bofors 40mm? Methinks the times are changing when amphibs & IFVs need what is basically a cannon,(like a more heavily armored vehicle, tank).
Perhaps the two-piece system is because the military wanted a larger payload / projectile?
After all, the vehicle may have to tackle enemy tanks, heavily reinforced fortifications, and even surface combatants.
Anybody know what kind of Helicopter that is @ 0:29 ?
Blackhawk
you had to make a cheap hovercraft with guns and missiles for them
Now is what i call a great landing vehicle that will get landing troops off of the beach and inland..
Uhh, large waves
That’s kind of sad. The AAAV prototype was total garbage. The Koreans aren’t the first to sink one. The land trials never went any better. It’s also cramped so the deaths aren’t unexpected. If they’re looking to get out of the AAVP7 series, hopefully the BAE systems ACV isn’t proprietary to the USMC.
LTVT7?
I don't know what your reading Jeeves, but what your showing is a shit-load of blown gaskets on those diesels. This ain't intended.
These folks have a lot more problems than you mentioned.
No , actually there's a direct injection system that pumps diesel into the exhaust manifold to create smoke .
@@j.robertsergertson4513 Oh, so not only the enemy forces on the beach know you're coming, but those miles inland have a good bearing on you too.

Idk? I didn't invent the thing ,But some military dude thought it was a cool idea so that's why they do it .
Sandcrawler!
There are days this channel feels like an advertisement.
Shhhhhh it’s secret screwtoob
Who are you going to surprise with that huge smoke trail?
The North! Who else?
@@jondurr I guess the North could be so blinded by hunger that they would not see the smoke trails. I will allow it lol.
Smoke screen.
If it's ultra secret why's it on CZcams? Surely you mean not at all secret.
That's exactly what he meant lol I mean look it's got us commenting and that helps the algorithm
😂😂😂
Nobody gets past the dark channels
It's actually pretty hard to find much on RoK's KAAV-2. Try it yourself. Dark basically took many different sources, which probably cost a premium like Janes, and compiled into this short video.
🤫
Is the KAAV-2 the AAAV from1998-2000 General Dynamics? The AAAV that was cancelled for good reasons. The AAAV was to narrow to float and its make from Aluminium that is vulnerable to IEDs. Shame on you GD for selling a death trap.
The videos arent even about whats in the thumbnail anymore

Ground-water..... Thought it was a high pressured water cannon. Drowning folks on land
Dude. The music is too much. Couldn't even finish the video.
First!
cool
hahahahahahaha
second
It’s a bird it’s a plane. It’s a tank now it’s a submarine.
