I am from Myanmar. Myanmar is the Buddhist majority nation but I am a Christian. It is sad to see the images were blew up by the Taliban .....Even though they are not a part of our religions, they are the cultural heritages of human civilization , so it was very wrong to blow them up
_You shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which you shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains and upon the hills and under every green tree. And you shall overthrow their altars and break their pillars and burn their groves with fire and you shall hew down the graven images of their gods and destroy the names of them out of that place._
No one has the right to deny the history of humankind. Moreover, there is no way they have the right to destroy it.
Is Islam the religion that will destroy the world? I despise those who use faith and religion for destruction.
Muslims become like garbage flowing down a river. Muhammad prophesied. It seems this prediction was correct.

** If Islam means PEACE, it should Not be at odds with Peacekeepers Or Peacemakers.
** It therefore seems absolutely unthinkable to me that GUSTI ALLAH will condemn Peacemakers in the final judgment.

Hello hi emmm.... I'm afghan so I'm about to tell you that my grandmother was raised and born in bamiyan I was born in Iran, تهران. My mom was born in Kabul. It's really sad that this stupid humans destroyed some of our history.

According to your theory, Muslims suddenly appeared in this world one day. One day, it suddenly appeared in this world without having any ancestors or evolving. Even grass has a history of evolution.
They couldn’t destroy the whole thing I guess they lack determination strength and faith those Buddhas will always be there because the people who built them had a much deeper knowledge and a much stronger faith .Buddha will always lead by example and peace and not by force and fear

It’s was in war before in that!
Oddly enough, these statues were actually built during the 6th-7th centuries, when a Turkic empire called Hephtalites aka White Huns ruled this area. There was a turkic tribe called Kalaj amongst them. This empire practised buddhism before they were conquered by Muslims. After a long period of time these Kalajis intermixed with the local population and become pashtunisized. Today their heirs are called Ghilzai or Ghilji, from Kalaj-zai = sons of the Kalaj.
The Taliban leader who gave the order to destroy this statues was from the Ghilzai tribe himself (of the Hotaki subgroup). Mullah Omar Muhammed.... history is mindblowing...

It's a old documentary from before 2000 ,,,,,,There weren't ISIS at those times, ,, Taliban blew Buda up 1, or 2 years before 11 September, ,, But i've heard some Hazara poeple from Afghanistan with help from Japan are trying to build that again, ,,
mohammad karimi good to know. This was an interesting docu in that it showed the difficulty of the situation there. Tribal strife. Religious oppression forsaken for the betterment of a destitute people. Much work to be done. But islam’s lack of tolerance for iconography has been established. Buddha statues for buddhism didnt emerge for hundreds of years till after the buddha passed. The reasons are similar, like elijah instructing his followers to hide his bones. This is a matter of religious concepts that are complicated. But a statue is a rock in the shape of a person. Art is art and all of it represents ideas. Wars over ideas never end. And the middle east is no exception. It pained me to see that man weep for his children who were blown up by those bombs. Ive heard that pain too often. Much luck and god bless
@@azurebadgerMany of members of Taliban aren't and weren't from Afghanistan, ,,they're jihadists from Pakistan, Tajikistan, Ozbakistan, Bangladesh, Some Arab countries, Eroupe and many other countries, ,, When Communist ( Soviet ) were in Afghanistan and the government were communism and had support of Soviet, , USA decided to take revenge because of Vietnam war ( At that war Soviet did help Vietnamese poeple to fight ) So they began send weapons and money with help of Pakistan to rebels, ,, after victory of rebels, , USA left Afghanistan alone at those difficult times and Pakistan began to education a new war group (Taliban ) and it was beginning of their story and more horrible times

This documentary referenced most of the country being under Taliban rule, but I think you're saying they didn't exist before that era of soviet occupation right? they came in and then the muslim brother hood but I don't know much. The communist block vs. capitalist west has been going since the 40s for us at least. ideologically it was always oppositional, and I do know that Regan gave weapons to the Afghans to fight the soviets, which means we were funding and arming the origins of the Taliban, theres a ton of conspiracies for sure besides that, but the results are the same. The bush doctrine wanted stable oil markets and democracy for the middle east, what happened was the destabilization of tyrannical dictatorships and war lords replacing them with tribal lines and interests. The culture wasn't there for it, and neither was the power to enforce it. The west beat tribalism with philosophy and political and financial institutions, but only just recently in history. those factors for India, Africa, and the middle east played out once we tried to give borders and freedom to a situation that wasn't ready for it it seems to me. Simply suggesting that everyone should have a clean slate and move forward is easier said than done. And we did more harm than good in the attempt. Trump here in the states is trying to pull out but he has a fight on his hands to say the least. his suggestion to Palestine for a sovereign domain and financial assistance came off as insulting and required them to forsake the reason for that regions existence, the death of israel. There is no easy way out and I'm not sure if I want to watch it play out any longer really lol. anyway. The world spins on.

Afghanistan was a much well off country until 1960s . A lot of Afghanis come to India for Graduation those days and they were said to be much well dressed and westernised than us Indians those days .
