@@simonegraffi3698 Sono d'accordo ma ne abbiamo avuti anche molto forti: penso per esempio a Giorgia, Elisa, Anna Oxa e Alexia (molto conosciute anche a livello Europeo). Altri non li vedevo bene, ma loro quattro una chance di piazzarsi bene l'avrebbero avuta sicuramente

I really want Finland to win again at least. Italy was awesome this year and they definitely deserved to win, but Blind Channel were also great. ^^

Luckily I'm ancient enough to remember when the UK and Ireland used to send good entries! We've had a few good songs in the past 20 years, but the best ones are from the first 45 years of the contest. I don't think any country will ever overtake the UK for the number of 2nd place finishes (15 times). I wish the BBC would take the contest more seriously, it's been too long since we were in the top 10.

Well, Italy haven't participated from 1994 to 2010, so imagine how many points will have Italy if it didn't "take a break"... (sorry for my English)
sweden always has the most mediocre songs. never terrible, but in a way i prefer the terrible songs since at least they have a bit of charm. sweden is just boring and unimaginative (in recent years at least). it’s like they’re not even trying but they still get good results :/
You have a point - We in Sweden often sends a mid/high-tempo song with a male singer. It was a little bit new last year with the mamas, but in the same genre as John. Dotter was our opportunity.

are the points before 2016 counted the same? because after 2016 there are twice as many points available, and thus this favors more recently successful countries unless the post-2016 scores are divided in half

I don't understand how this works. How is Germany in 2021 7th when it was amonngs the last ones on the esc? I don't get it
If I understand this video completion correctly this really does not work as the points systems have changed over the years, it’s more accurate to state best position over the years, eg Australia was knocked out in 2021, but got position 2 on another year, there are many other examples like Poland gets second position way back in the 90s when they first entered.
I think this video was more for fun and because it's an interesting list - not because there's absolute fairness in it.
I wonder where the UK would be If they'd actually get points which they don't even if they actually come through with decent songs like this years. (Loved theirs this year tbh, still insane to me that they got no points lol)

This is not really fair to all the countries that are new to the contest or didnt partocipate a lot so you shouldve devided the total points by the amount of participations so it was the 'average points reveived in final'

20 years ago, you scored once. Now you take two scores from juries and televoting.
The competition 40 years ago was smaller as the number of countries participating was dramatically smaller. Now a single country has to compete 39 other countries.

This is a fairly meaningless list, to make it fair it should be as a percentage of the available points. Monaco and Luxembourg would then rank much higher for example.
