I think both the Gunn brothers are trying their best to not break kayfabe. While it appears Danhausen is tormenting them, what he's really doing is helping get them more exposure and giving them something that will get them over with the crowd - i.e. "Ass Boys" chants - which is super critical to their success in one of the most crowded tag team divisions I have ever seen. Think of it like Kurt Angle and the "You Suck" chants: he never changed his theme music because he wanted the crowd invested in him. Same thing here, which is why Papa Gunn is not only okay with it, but playing along.

I was lucky enough to attend a watch-a-long and Q&A with the Ass Man at a bar for Rumble '17. He is hilarious and one of the most friendly people I've ever met. My friend's sister went to the show with us and told him that her daughter wanted to try wrestling, but wasn't sure because of how WWE was presenting female stars at the time. They talked for a minute and he got some info from her; the next week, the daughter was on a Skype with Bayley, Sasha and Cross giving her encouragement to push on.
Gunn is a great guy, that whole night he would just randomly take a seat and discuss the show (Q&A was during the ad breaks/promo recaps) with people. It felt like just watching a show with friends, even though it was a room of strangers and Billy effing Gunn.
I can also legit say that I "cheers'd" a DX inspired shot with Billy Gunn. I've met several famous people, but none were so friendly as Billy.
But...he is HUGE AND FUCKING SCARY AS HELL at first.
Billy is savvy enough to know what this exposure on Danhausen's channel means for them. If anything, I'm really impressed with Austin not breaking kayfabe; he's got a well-developed persona that he's sticking to and that's a large part of what makes these vignettes hilarious.
He has whole crowds chanting ass boys at these guys, its great.
The best thing is you can tell they're all loving every minute of it
