Does a version of this exist, where you can hear the lush bass & harmonies without the mental shrill percussion drowning it out? I think this versions is great! - Sometimes i listen to it thinking .... '"if ONLY" a version was out sounding the same minus the beats..
Yeah it’s cos Richard is totally bonkers, lush melodies and harmonies coupled with insane percussion and glitches… yet it works and you keep coming back for more 😂
@ShortytheSquirrel - Don't get me wrong, I love Aphex, even saw him live at a MegaDog once.. However i would ALSO like to hear a version of this song by Philip Boa & the Voodoo club, that sounds like THIS, but without the Aphex treatment, so as to hear what they have to say musically. I hope you can understand my angle as well..
@ShortytheSquirrel - The original as far as the harmonic strings & bass melody are concerned, sounds nothing like this version.. I'd like to hear a version with this, but minus the frantic drums.
@xoio You're really missing the point of this song if you don't like the beats. This is a jungle track so the melody is there to compliment the beats which are the star of the show. This is not an ambient track and wouldn't work as one anyway because said melody is too complex.
@xoio Why not rip the audio and then put it through a mixer. Then you can remove all the sounds you don't like. As far as I know there is no 'ambient' version of this, unlike 'SAW 2 CD 1 TRK 2 Original Mix' on this same album (which ironically I think is inferior to the original ambient track from SAW 2, so there you go)!
@xoio Why not listen to the original? This is a remix of the original 'deep in velvet'. I think there is a live version of the original here on CZcams. I personally think this remix is far superior but the original is good too.
fucking love this track. i cant believe how much i took 25mixes for granted until i listened to the darn thing.
