I followed your recipe exactly (I thought) but could not get it to turn to gel. I tried twice and it looked like it wanted to gel and on the sides of the Pyrex it had some gel. I know it’s hard to trouble shoot since you are watching what I am doing but I was hoping you might be able to help with your best guess. Thank you for sharing and your help.
Hi Debbie, this is a tricky recipe because it is very PH sensitive. You have to add the exact amounts of what I have in the recipe or likely your formula will go flat. I tried a bunch of different things in this gel before I got a good gel. Also, you need the TEA, you can add a bit more if it is not gelling and see what happens.
Damn girl! That’s beautiful it’s a rose gold gel with the beads in it and I’m gonna get this for my daughter. She has very dry but extremely sensitive skin. I make my own stuff but there is a lot of things that irritate her skin and happily none of that is in this so it’s perfect! I hope u have them?! I love it it’s beautiful!
I was just watching one of your videos on how to make an under eye or facial gel with caffeine. Does it matter when you put the glycerin in because you never mentioned it on the beginning of the video it further on and you said it was already in there. Also when you are doing the pH the first time it was at 5 and you said you had to bring it up to 7. That's when you added the t e a to bring the ph up. And at the end of the video it shows you doing the pH again and it is still at 5 and you said this was perfect for the . So to say the least I'm a little confused???

So it started at a pH of 4/5 and you said you needed a pH of 7, then by the end of the video after you had supposedly added stuff to help the pH, it was still a pH of 5 and you now say that's perfect for the face? The pH stayed the same, I don't understand. Does the pH adjuster only bring it to pH 7 while it gelatinizes and then it returns to a pH of 5?
Sydney yes, the ph adjuster brought the mixture to a 7. When the mixture was not gelling it was at 5. Then when the TEA was added it brought the ph up to a 7. Carbomer only turns the distilled water into gel if ph if 7 or above. With the addition of the other ingredients the ph goes back down to a 5. The mixture is stable at this point. If the ph gets lower than this, the mixture will turn back to liquid. So adding things like hyaluronic acid can make it go flat. What you saw was what actually happened, I did not “supposedly” add stuff. Everything you saw was very deliberate and precise.

Of course you can but the method is different. It’s probably easier with Hyaluronic Acid just make sure it’s HMW
