razer be making anything but the viper mini wireless 😅
But they did.
@@noxzaz1076280 dollars
@@noxzaz1076 the signature edition, i know. But it's crazy expensive. What i meant (and what we want) is the *regular* viper mini, just with no cables.
İf u need viper mini go signuture, hard capitalism
What a dedicated “f*ck you” streak. They’d rather waste more resources on a new product line than use less resources to just put the wireless tech into the Viper Mini chassy and call it a day. This isn’t laziness. It’s dedication to avoid doing a relatively simple thing.
I might be in the minority here, but to me what makes this mouse pro is all these extra features. I'm sick and tired of all this craze about weight reduction that effectively removes all the features from the mouse and even increases the price. 70-80g is perfect when we have ALL the features for the price. Bluetooth, wireless charging, good RGB, place to store the dongle, so many great things. I love when mice have actual features.
Yeah even as someone who's used a sub60g mouse for 2 years and getting some awesome scores with my modded viper mini, the truth is 74g is basically not all that bad, and since I moved to the Naga X which is even more than this wireless cobra, its still not that much compared side to side to my viper mini. If you really need the shape and the weight, just remove the light diffusers and some non-destructive parts, put it back together, and there you go. I'll stick to my Naga X though that 12 button feature is insane.
For me its not the cobra mouse the problem, the problem is they replaced it for the viper series
So glad you're talking about this. So many of us just wanted a viper mini but without the cable which they could have easily done if they just put the ultimate v2 internals into a viper mini but getting this hurts so bad so those of us waiting so long and were disappointed with the signature edition.
tbh I used to rock the viper mini, BUT just got a lamzu atlantis mini and wtf, the shapes just that much better
They think they can make us buy what we probably can’t afford.
You’d be wrong with so many of us. A razer worker has stated, only very small niche market was asking for this, and it was not selling well at all. Retailers didn’t care for a razer viper mini wireless, and RGB sells.
razer must be obligated to fulfill your entitlement
I abandoned all this super expensive mouse nonsense and went back to basics with the Orochi V2.
No rgb, no extra buttons, no crazy features. Just a solid lightweight mouse, with great shape, and mechanical switches. Been rocking this baby for a year for like 39 USD and I'm absolutely in love with it.
This mouse makes the new finalmouse ulx look like a deal. This mouse is $160 if you want 4k polling. Thr ulx is 8k and 29g less than half the weight for $190.
Same thoughts here on this coBRUH mouse. Been rocking the v2 pro for about 3 months and was seeing what Razer might bring out next. Wasn’t expecting this thing. Anyways I digress, well produced video Frank. Keep up the amazing work!
Lol if you have the v2 pro u don’t need anything else.. unless u have small feminine hands then u need the mini I’d say
I love the v2 but it is a bit too long for me, so I ordered the Co-bruh.
I kinda like this, cause the weight around 70-80g does not bother me at all, in fact i like the medium weight like that, not too light and not too heavy. I'm using a Basilisk X Hyperspeed with AAA batteries (weights around ~80g) and Viper Ultimate, and the RGB and how the mouse looks kinda resonates with my taste
You do you bro. These guys are obessed with mice getting lighter and lighter. Pretty soon they'll just be using a pcb on some scates hitting the switches directly
@@3choblast3r4 Yeah just recently switch to the Deathadder V3 Pro, 63 grams is actually quite the sweet spot, not too light, just heavy enough to avoid that "cheap" feeling. Don't think it would bother me too much if it's 70-75 grams either, the shape is just top-notch in the Ergo scene right now, i really like it
@@Agent_Alpha What a coincidence lol.. I got my deathadder v3 pro in the mail today.
EDIT: I sent it back after testing it for a week or so. It was so light it felt like a kinderegg toy. The shape, although in the end wasn't as nice as the g502 shape for my medium sized hands. The lack of extra buttons was the real culprit. and the fact that it costs an insane 160 euro.
My basilisk is 106g with a battery
@@latiosanime5423 who ask ? lol
They have Basilisk V3 PRO and Naga V2 PRO as well. Kinda insane to get stuck on the PRO naming for so long.
For Razer I think "pro" just means "wireless" - Same deal with their headsets and keyboards too.
They're not the only company where "pro" is a meaningless word either, Samsung and Apple are just as bad. Do you only buy an iPhone 14 "Pro Max" if you use it for work?
As for this product, I think it's just for people who like the Viper shape but want Chroma, and I think there's a market for that.
If it included a dock, the higher polling rate and was slightly lighter I think I'd be interested.
I still really love the dock, built in side grips, and 4 side buttons of my Razer Viper Ultimate with the light weight. But I have no reason to upgrade right now, I am more than happy with my current mouse
The thing with the dock is that you will always be trading off weight for dock charging. So it’s one or the other. So you could realistically get close to 70g but probably not under 65. Same with RGB.
@@kaeroseon For me it's worth the trade and I don't mind that much. I am still lucky enough to be Masters top 500 NA in Overwatch I am more than satisfied with what I have accomplished. My other friend is top 500 Overwatch GM1 and he has the slightly heavier g pro wireless and 120hz display "only".
I like to play a bunch of other stuff too like Terraria, Battlefield, Galactic Contention, etc. etc. etc. Many of which are a little more casual, for fun. And I love just being able to take it off the dock, have the 4 programmable side buttons, and the comfy side pads. My family likes the rgb logo too funnily enough
I always forget to put my ultimate on the dock. So I gave up and just have a USB-C cable ready for when it starts flashing. Also, my grips are now flat.
@@BrawndoQC I just have mine on my desk right behind my mouse pad so it's natural to leave it there when not using, as the micro-usb cable feels unnecessarily "harder" to me when I can just easily drop it on the magnetic sticky pad. My pads are still fine luckily, so maybe I don't grip the mouse as hard.
@@willwunsche6940 I have a smooth grip, but over time, doesn't matter, it will flatten out eventually. Took about 2 years. 3M grip flattens faster, that's like 6 months it took on my V2 Pro.
can you confirm if the charging dock pro supports charging two (or more) different mice? or can you only pair one mouse at a time? (for example basilisk v3 pro and cobra pro)
The side grips are actually a sour point for me on my last razer mouse. The mamba pro i think it was. After a year or so it started feeling sticky and weird even after being cleaned.
Intentional design obsolescence so consumers would have to buy new mouses within a few years. Have you tried buying third party grip/tape? Doesn't solve the issue of degrading grips but it could prolong the use your mouse.
They should've just made a Mini version of the Viper v2 pro but with TTC Sliver/Gold scroll wheel encoder this time. My scroll wheel broke after few months of use, it became jumpy. Its such a shame because I loved how my White Viper V2 Pro looked. Im now using a White Lamzu atlantis mini.
what's it weigh with the magnet charging disk out? and does that level the balance out?
Does the Cobra come with the dongle that breaks after a year? I got the V2 pro and had to buy the $30 4k dongle to get it to work again. that's $180 on a flippin mouse😬
what bluetooth version is it? in the alternate wireless connection type i suppose few use? specifications nor manual doesnt indicate. i use dual mode one for gaming one for office use. the bluetooth version is very important to me.
I’ve had the viper ultimate for about 2 years now and I’m looking for a new mouse idk if I should get the cobra or something else
I have a different take, I think that’s a perfect lineup, the viper lineup is already super saturated and not everyone wants a mouse whose selling point is the lightness. So if the cobra has the dock compatibility and is not as skimmed down on features or “streamlined” like the viper line is, I think this is smart. I wish they add a third button on the side, remove the rbg and cut the weight down a bit and this is a guaranteed buy from me. Sticking to my orochi v2 but wishing I had the SteelSeries aerox 5.
and add back the other side side buttons, because those are really useful
this feels more like it's replacing the OG Viper Ultimate. Similar shape, similar weight, just smaller. I actually prefer the 2 DPI buttons under the scroll wheel* instead of the 2 extra side buttons on the right side of the mouse, makes it way easier to click. I also have a viper mini that I use for work and I find myself missing the DPI button on my OG Ultimate. if this is the normal Viper size I might have copped it tbh
agreed these fps kids that think a mouse with slightly less weight is going to be that difference from them being trash at the game are funny.
I love my DAv3 but I would love to charge with the dock. The BAv3 was just too heavy
Nice video, i want to buy a Mamba-brother, I mean the same size and shape mouse which one is the "samest"?
what the flip
This is def not seal worthy
omg 2 tech reviewers crazy
In boardzy's interpretations, I agree with rfp
does anybody know if any superglides/glass skates exist for the mouse? i’m looking to get it since i’m a sucker for RGB and that magnetic dock, but i can’t seem to find any superglides for it
although the feet do look similar to other mice, so maybe i can buy other glass skates and use it for the cobra pro?
What game is that at 5:03? Thank you for answering my question
maybe for g305 users? looks like a basilisk ambient which is a g305 in a way. or is the shape the same as the viper mini?
I need a good quilaty table, do you have some for under 50? Just wondering
What's the wrist rest you are using? :) Looks cool!
I bought the Lancehead wireless like 5 years ago I think, Its been really good and comfortable however im trying to find a new mouse as its starting to mess up. But im trying to find a new mouse to buy but Im not sure what one
How was this not called the Viper Ultimate V2 Mini?
I just want a Razer Viper Ultimate 2 with dock, ambidextrous buttons for my bindings, and side grips. This looks close to that but I don't need the RGB and I want the dock/features included.
naw. you dont want built in sidegrips.. those suck once they wear out you gotta change the whole mouse.
@@hennweiMy sidegrips are wearing down on my Razer Viper Ultimate a little but they are still fine.
I did have a problem with the sidegrips on my old Razer Deathadder Elite falling off; but I have really enjoyed them on my VU and have had no major problems so far
@@willwunsche6940 why tho? they suck, they barely provide any grip, and itd probably be cheaper for Razer to put in a extra set of real functioning grip tape anyways. i have literal finger indents on my original viper bc the rubber sucks that much. just ask for them on the side, which theyve done with almost every single mouse released
@@PappyVPoodle I mostly just like the comfort and I like it being seamlessly attached to mouse's surface. I haven't tried the grip tape yet, so I guess I don't have a good baseline for the experience. I guess I worry it wouldn't be as nice or come off over time. Maybe that's not the case.
What is the game being shown at around 5:23?
i really hate the rubber side grips cuz after a few months they start to sink ink on my thumb part
Just curious why the orochi v2 doesn't cater to the viper mini wireless market? Small, cheap, wireless and not to heavy? Just curious
It has relatively high click and movement latencies - it's outdated.
What's the charging time?
This CoBRUH LOOKS nice tho coming from Ouroboros user. But no stocks in Qatar anymore…. Zzzzzzz
This would look good together with the blackwidow v3 mini keyboard.
Any other suggestions for a mouse that would match the BW v3 mini.
Thanks!
For people like me who are used to about 70 gram mouses its a perfect pick cuz it has rbg like the basilik and is sinilar to the vipers which is exactly what ive been wanting
Mi ratón tiene 200 gramos xd y no me quejo como el tío del vídeo
sadly thats the mice for me
a bit heavier
ambi
bt + 2.4ghz
the only downside for me is the additional dlck features
I wish razer will make a high end wired version of the cobra / rvm just like on dav3 wired 8khz
I hope the viper mini wireless is still coming😢😢
I think if this mouse weighed less than the Viper V2, it would've been good to go. Mouse looks pretty cool to be honest.
Im dissapointed there is no scroll wheel left and right click only reason im sticking with the basilisk
does it come with white color?
we have to wait for the pro "v2" version of this... here goes another year of waiting......
I may sound dumb but what's the game you are playing there?
Whoa Frank, tell us how you really feel. Nice review, glad to see you are back!
what game is that at about 5 min mark
This video really helped thank you!! I was going to buy this mouse.. The wireless version. Not anymore I have the Razer Viper Ultimate. Not the version 2.
pretty sure they made this the way it is because of how similar it is to the viper mini when it comes to shape.
The shape and size look perfect for me. Shame that its so heavy. I got an x2 mini, which weights 52 grams, and the M42 wireless feels a lot heavier at only 67grams. I love both shapes, but im seriously considering doing a weight reduction mod to the m42. Also considering getting the Atlantis mini, which is 49 grams.
What scale was he using? It's sick!
I'd rather they fix their QC issues with the DA v3 Pro, but I have the EC1-CW finally so it's w/e at this point. Do wish the DA v3 pro had charging dock capabilities tho.
Pwnage Ultra Custom Sym 2 that you recommended has been my main mouse for 2 years. I basically call it a Viper Mini wireless
Thanks Frank for the review. However we didnt get the usual click sounds...
The DA V3 pro has been perfect for me, I won't be switching anytime soon. I feel like they just threw the cobra together for a money grab but I could be wrong.
can you show the razer seirn v2 pro??
I would have bought this immediatly if it was 50 grams or so. the cobra actually addressed the issues that most people had with the viper with it being too flat and wide. Hope they come out with an actual pro version of this. The shape looks perfect.
i like it because it is flat and wide
The weight isnt the reason your stuck in silver. God bless
Viper Ultimate is btw also 74g.
i wish they would fix the mouse dock pro. but they don't. since release the lightning is bugging. after shutdown the RGB won't turn off. everytime i want to shutdown my pc i have to go into settings and turn off the RGB there. everybody has this problem. if you buy the mouse dock pro too, you will have the same bug 100%.
I'm currently using lamzu atlantis mini and x2 mini, hope I live long enough to see the viper mini wireless 😂
It''s not ambidextrous if there aren't matching side buttons on the right side for left-handed users. It has a neutral shape, but ambidextrous means feature parity for either hand.
At this point i gave up on any hopes that they will refresh the Mamba.Seems like its time to go back to my Superlight.
Thanks for the honest reviews... great content as always
i was going to say it was made for me until I saw that it wasnt ambidextrous. It reminded me of the lancehead until I notice the lack of buttons on the right side..BUMMER
I'm in love with egg shaped Orochi V2 they should make a V3 instead of wasting R&D budget for designs like this
I would say that this is viper ultimate mini plus(pretty much like viper ultimate but with upgrade on polling rate, battery, charging method, type c, better rgb, but since it’s smaller than viper ultimate, it’s mini. Not Bart as marketing strategy tho. You can’t just expect them to come up with higher tech continuously within short time😂
I am currently using a Basilisk V3 Pro. I was using the Viper Ultimate before this, and was looking for a reason to switch back. This ain't it.
"Hyperx Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini" seems to be the Viper Mini wireless that people want.
in my experince a mouse being light has diminishing returns after a point. this is for people that want the shape of the viper and all the basalisk features. grip will always be much more important than the mouse being light if you ask me. i do better with a heavy mouse that i can grip well
Honestly I kinda like it. Definitely won’t buy it at full price but I’m not a heavy FPS player at all so the weight isn’t an issue (plus I like the added Bluetooth so I can use it on my steam deck and laptop)
I also don't fully understand the positioning, maybe only because you can charge it with the dock...but buying it separately, man
Why does it have all that rgb. Razer was cooking when they got rid of it with the new line of vipers
even if they fixed the LOD in cobra, i don't think it's worth enough to have this instead of viper mini. surely viper mini LOD is shieet, but i didn't find any issue while using it to play fps competitive games
Its compatible with any charging dock from razer? Thanks
No, Not the older dock
It works with a newer charging dock that costs $69
I might buy it, and strip it out. Should be on 55g without the blingbling stuff.
but the ambi wasn't the viper line up? razer is confused
Actually this is perfect thing for me. I'm not a pro gamer, and I like the RGB bling of the Basilisk, but Basilisk is too heavy for my daily use and the extra features are not as important to me. I daily driver the Viper Mini and the Logitech M720. And this is looking like the best combination for me. I can use it with 2.4Ghz dongle on PC, and with Bluetooth on my work laptop.
so you say it's not worth buying?
still waiting for the Razer Deathadder V3 Mini to come.
I think Razer (and other manufactures) realize that there's a lot of people who want a high performing mouse but would not just let go of how their "setup" looks. So, I guess this mouse is for the FPS gamer that dabbles and plays seriously, but not for the eSports user that plays to compete, or finds most fun in competing and is not into looks as much.
trust me 75 is still light for regular use, even for fps games etc.
Is the wired version the same weight or lighter
Wired is lighter, 55 grams I believe
they make it for people like me. who went from the RVU to the V2 pro back to RVU who choose RGB+dock over light weight. this mouse seems interesting to me but i probably wait another year or so before buying this.
I have to agree it seems like a true successor to Viper Ultimate. Only thing is I don't need the extra RGB and wish it included the dock + high polling rate feature without needing to buy more. I am still more than happy with my VU so this doesn't feel like much/enough of an upgrade for me to justify buying a new one yet
@@willwunsche6940 there's a reason why i got back to the VU, because i dont FPS much in recent thus i dont need the "lightweight" . i got an RMA on my V2 Pro because the wireless fail me suddenly and lucky enough to get a fresh box to sell it away. i pick the VU again because it was the only option last month but then if i were to choose now it will be the Cobra Pro. i have to say the side button and the new optical switch is better now but you wouldnt notice unless you went back in time like me.
and yes the extra charge on the dock sucks. i probably wait till a price drop next year to get a cobra. i change mouse annually for some reason
Why does it feel like they took one big step back. It feels like they designed the Cobra a few years ago alongside the basilisk but only decided to release it now. The design is fine on the basilisk cause it has more functions, but to put it on a mini mouse and make it heavier is just dumb imo. I hope this isn't the final version of the "viper mini wireless"
Personally going from the basilik v3 pro, that I bought both for working and gaming, and now willing to buy a more « regular fps only 2 button » mouse, this seems a good option. And going from 120g , 75g feels light weight . I guess that may be a start to your answer your question about « who this mouse is for ». I do agree though this mouse is not for the « pro » and the name is confusing, i hope they make a real pro and performance oriented version without the fluff, they could brand it « TE tournament edition » , and fill the need of a viper mini wireless
Could be an upgrade from those coming from a g305
People like me who want to chenge up things from their viper ultimate. I love the 70ish (g)mice and love to have some rgb. The only thing that bothers me is the dock that is sold separately?? For 68$ that is mad 😠
Viper mini wireless version check out G-Wolves HTX Ace. It’s really light and feels amazing to use especially for fingertip grip. It took me a couple weeks to get use to the light weight but the mouse is awesome. You can get it with complete shell or holes. Don’t get the 4k version it’s not worth it. There’s virtually no difference between 4k and 1k polling rate and the 1k battery life is way better.
The Cobra lineups already been around a long time it's just an old revamped lineup look it up it was way back in the day
I just bought this mouse few days ago. For me wireless charge, blue tooth and RGB lighting worth more than just lose 25g weight. I really dont think RAZER make this mouse for those hardcore players, it's more like an all around flagship mouse can be use for gaming as well as daliy use and doing office work
i got the viper ultimate. 74grams feel just fine.
This is definitely for that niche sector that needs a smaller mouse, but also prefer heavier mouse. I know there are people that prefer heavy, and some of those may have smaller hands. But yeah.. just make a lightweight mouse first with removeable weights lmao. make it appeal to all. which btw, RGB, to that degree, on a mouse? appeals to like three
razer viper ultimate is my fav mouse but my scroll wheel just died on it so I bought another and loving life, but in saying that
I want a true v2 with all 4 side buttons a new docking station as the one it comes with is so bad and a new scroll wheel that doesn't feel like mushed cheese and a 4k pulling rate while being either same weight or lighter.
I'm still waiting for the low profile keyboards comparison vid, Mr. Frank...
I suspect this might have been led by poor sales from the non rgb/lighter types. So they're just going back to this
They have confirmed in discord this is the last viper shape no mini coming
I would love a za13 clone from razer. I love the shape!
What would you consider the best mice in the market right now
Viper V2 Pro, Deathadder V3 Pro, Pulsar X2 Mini, Lamzu Atlantis 4K
Probably still the DA v3 pro or the viper v2 pro.
Thank you for calling them out with this baffling product that no one asked for. All we wanted was a viper v2 pro mini version.
I still use V1 Wraith Red Naga Hex. I love it
They made this mouse for me. I’m a CA user I just don’t like the RGB. But I absolutely love the weight of it and how it just throws in my backpack and quickly connect. Still need to download the app to check out the RGB. But I just use it for solidworks been great. So far. But if you have a recommendation on a better portable mouse for CAD software, let me know.
I prefer to keep using the viper mini wired instead of the cobra pro to be honest
Npo1s wireless review next?
