I love this from front to back. Dunno is anyone noticed, but he plays the songs how you should fight the bosses in order and I really appreciate that. 11/10
To put it simple: Capcom should remake the game, and hire Ollie to take care of the soundtrack... given it's already done.

I like that he starts with Metal Man, just like every single MM2 playthrough worth its salt. Every. Single. One.
I also like how he strips it down a little just to play with expectations (not sure if that was the goal but I approve) and at the end just blows quickman out of the water with how epic it is.
P.S. Ollie, what is the best way to support you? I know you have a patreon. I just want to make sure the money goes as directly to you as possible and I've never used patreon before.
and THAT is hands down because Metal Man has the best power in any Mega Man game ever. 8 directional shooting with a huge projectile, tiny power cost and can kill like 3 or 4 bosses with it...including Metal Man himself in the rematch!!!
To be fair, I always seemed to start with Air Man., Not sure why...
@@philstuf to fully nerd out, I do too because he's the best to start with to proceed in a way to grab every single hard to reach item (E tanks, one-ups, etc). Plus starting with metal blade makes the rest of the game too damn easy

Im replaying the Mega man games at the moment and finished Mega man 2 a while ago. The music made me feel so nostalgic I just had to keep listening to it for a while after the play through so I though “maybe there’s an artist out there who covers Mega man songs on my Favorit instrument?” and that’s how I ended up here. A 27 minute long musical play through of this awesome game with zero dislikes. Let me grab my good headphones, guess I’m in for a ride!

I’m not nostalgic for Mega Man as a game series, but all of Brent’s Mega Man With Lyrics are engrained in my childhood, and while I don’t seek it out much Folk music is a favorite genre of mine when done well. And this? This is very, VERY well done. Shame on CZcams for not recommending this to me sooner.

I was fortunate enough to get a very good subwoofer this xmas to round out what was a high quality pair of loud speakers and receiver combo, that was just lacking that hitting, but tonal, low range.
It finally showed yesterday, hooked it up today, and, after having SHMUPs rattling the house every time even the tiniest of ships exploded on screen for a few hours, I thought of you, the esteemed Mr. Ollie, and those awesome bass ukulele skills of yours.
Having this complete album of MM2 awaiting was just the icing on the cake, and I absolutely love it.
I would just like to commend you on the quality of covers you put out, I have been listening to VGM covers for over 2 decades and I feel by far yours are some of the best out there. From musical skill, recording quality, mixing, and instrument choices to your ability to keep the music feeling fresh while, and this part is critical, maintaining the same feeling of energy I felt when I played the games and was immersed into them via the brilliant soundtracks back in the day... on all of this you never disappoint.
Plus, I have difficulty explaining why I think so, but the banjo just works as an analog instrument emulation for that chip tune sound from NES up in my brain, and it is super rad to experience. Your Bayou Billy cover is the only one worth listening to on all of CZcams, period. The only baffling part, for me, is that your videos don't all have millions of views.

Not the biggest Mega Man fan, but I really liked the Dr Wily Theme 20:12 and especially the accordion. Reminds me of the typical high tempo music you would find in arcade SHMUPs at the time, like Raiden.

It's crazy to realize that a game made in late 80's for NES cart had a soundtrack of 20 songs. I mean I've known it always, but to start thinking of the quality of the production.

This was awesome, my only problem was that some of the recording equipment on Metal man seemed to have caught a CRT or something in the background that really stands out when played at higher volumes.
