Iceland. A conundrum of everything. Way of life, Music, the cute little birds they eat, lol. Scenery is extremely fantastical.

Holland, probably. It's a small highly densely populated nation on the north sea where the people are +6' tall and they eat salty licorice and herring spread on toast. There are more bicycles on the road than automobiles. Their language sounds cartoonish.

Belgium is very strange, a nation state that seems to function best when it doesn't have a functioning government and of course Wallonia has a veto on all international treaties that Belgium enters into, so a trade treaty with Canada had to be renegotiated, at the last everyone was waiting to see whether Wallonia (a French speaking state inside Belgium) would accept it in a referendum and they rejected it, so Belgium rejected it even though Belgian government mostly wanted it but Wallonia has a veto, so EU rejected it because Belgium vetoed it. A lot of the time Belgium as with France is paralysed by demonstrations.
Of course there's also DPRK, that's a very strange state, capital city Pyonyang is sort of capitalist with branches of Pizza Hut and that sort of thing, hotels & golf courses, the rest based on a weird nationalist reverence for the leader and people living in sort of medieval conditions as if under a feudal lord, a country where most of the population is either part of military, paramilitary, police or reserve militia or in jail or penal colonies and where the main focus of the state is testing atomic weapons and building ICBMs and midget submarines.

Japan without a doubt because of their unspoken social rules, it goes beyong level of development or being able to understand English, I know quite a few people who have traveled much of the world and claimed Japan is the most "Alien" country from an American/Western Perspective.

I'm gonna say Wales. Half the time not even recognized as its own country in major sporting events like the Olympics but part 'Great Britain' or the 'United Kingdom.' Wales is in fact its own nation AND has its own official language (Welsh) but only 28% of the population can speak their own language while the other 72% speak English. Being a country within a country, Wales simultaneously has 2 political leaders - the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom & the 'First Minister of Wales'. Strange country for sure...
