- We gotta sawzall and tack weld the “new” axle, mount the gorgeous new suspension, grease pack the bearings, assemble the Big Daddy brakes… the To Do List never stops growing! Also all work stops when WRC rally driver Kris Meeke pops in, but at least everyone was talking shop!

Fun to see Scotto combining German and Japanese. Even better that he's actually working on something 😂 🍻
Now he just needs to put on some Italian wheels and he'll have the full combo
@@cathat9622 Axis86.
@@toxicmasculinity7870 but it has an American rear end.
@@cathat9622 I did see one of these with Ferrari wheels on before so there's a chance
Lmao
With as much as Jameson helps build all the Gymkhana cars, I feel like they should all jump in and help him build a car, I would love to see a Jameson car build.
Scotto comes up with some of the coolest stuff I swear, him actually getting a car built makes the world a better place. Keep it up man! We’re cheering for you
I think you mean Scotto way over complicates. That's why 97% of his projects never get finishes!
I love what Scotto is doing it. Very UK/European
Was not expecting to see Kris Meeke standing in the Hoonigan garage! A good Northern Irish man like myself 😁 He's a rally legend!
Same, I wasn't looking at the screen but when he said "Kris Meeke" i perked up like a meerkat lol
Surprising to see a Dungannon man pop up in videos on the other side of the world
One thing I've noticed and love about Scotto's vids is that he frequently has a hands-on show & share bit and actually teaches something, like with packing those bearings today. Fun stuff!
To me this type of series is the backbone of what Hoonigan is. Taking regular cars and making them special, driving them, driving them hard and enjoying life. Shredding the lot, build bios, and all the random stuff is great, but at the end of the day it's just us and our cars and what we do to them to stand out. Not all of us have the luxury of using a large shop, having a crew and sponsors, but see what can be done is always inspiring and something to work towards for us common folk.
Love seeing Meeke!! Please get more Wrc drivers (or more rally driving in general on the channel)
How fricken awesome it is to see Scotto putting in the time. Finishing this build is going to be crazy bragging rights. I'm not a VW guy but..... Those VR6s have some crazy potential.
This is such a fun series to watch. That last shot gave me major nostalgia. I owned a 92 GLI when I was younger and I miss it pretty often. Seeing that 16v brought back a lot of good memories of canyon drives. The VR6 will rip and I can't wait to hear it, but if it doesn't fit and you go with the 16v, you know at least one person won't be mad about it. Idk anything about the powerband or how well suited it would be for a grid car, but doing ITB's instead of a turbo seems fitting for the 16v.
I noticed the 16 valve right away. I had an 89 Helios GLI, i put a 2l 16v in it annd it ripped.
MKII 4LIFE 🙂
That’s what I miss the most out of you guys is the most simple yet important lesson on small things like bearings. Love to see you guys 💙💙#43
After so many years following I know this is the ultimate joy for Scotto, the reason he won’t “just get someone” to fix his cars is that he loves troubleshooting and fixing, he’s got a lifetime of vehicles to chase gremlins and successes. Play on playa, this VR86 will scream 🎉
Why do I feel like this is the most amount of work I've seen Scotto do on any car since the start of the channel and it's only been a couple episodes. LOL
WHAT! Kris Meeke? This is a HUGE surprise, guy is a tremendous driver
Videos like this are what got me so into Hoonigan. I was thoroughly entertained but also learned new things. Appreciate the "teaching session." I love when those shots are included! Great content.
Hell yeah, loving this series.
Really motivates me to get my car done sooner.
Working on a uneven driveway has been the biggest disincentive ever.
You’re probably gonna want to use the negative camber setting on the rcas with about 3-4 degrees caster and 5-6 degrees camber with 0.5 toe out. That’s a decent starting point for that engine weight and being a gymkhana setup. I run a JZ up front and you have to really up the front end steering response to get it to change direction when you want it to.
Also a 10-14kg front spring really helps
I like when Scott's project go past removing 1 rusty bolt lol
For those who don't know Kris Meeke was Colin McRae understudy and is the first British Driver to win Rally Finland and he also might still have the highest average speed over a complete rally. In short Kris can certainly pedal any of the gymkhana cars.
And you'd know he was under McRaes wing as he had the same all or nothing, flat out mentality. Foot down, risk it all for the win or crash trying.. Unfortunately that mentality resulted in his sacking, but fuck me he was an entertaining driver to watch.
@@shona5512 him in a Clio S1600 in Donegal is one of my earliest memories of Rallying. Never has a S1600 been driven so Hard against WRC cars. Amazing.
keep it strong. This one is my favorite build on YT right know. The two thing i love the most, german and japanese engeniring combined. This is the combo we all needed. Congrats to the whole Hoonigan team. Keep making dreams come thru
Those caster rods blew my mind, really inspired me to go all out with my car, truly impressive 👏🏼 🙌🏼
Great to see Kris in the US again. Had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with him for a couple of days back in 2020, right before lock down. (literally a few weeks before)
Proud to see Scotto get this far congrats 😂
Kris Meeke's reaction to Scotto's love for German stuff is how I've always felt about VW's lol
Which is funny to me since he spent most of his career driving French cars which have a far worse reputation than German cars. (Even though France is undoubtedly the king's of WRC)
Scotto this is by far my pick of all the builds with that engine and all the drive line gear that thing will be unstoppable if its to deep dry sump it keep it coming hanging out for more content✔✔✔💯💯👍👍👍👍
scotto has such great vision for builds. its so nice to see him follow through with it! ^_^
Scotto's creativity never ceases to amaze me! His dedication to building cars truly makes the world a more exciting place. Keep pushing the boundaries, Scotto! We're all rooting for you and eagerly anticipating your next incredible creation. 👏🚗🔥
loving all this new content guys! please keep this up :)
that T3 kit will be the best thing you buy for that chassis love seeing these builds cant wait to watch gymkhana grid
Garage Garage: Jameson builds 3 cars.
Don't have anything that T3 makes parts for but i've always admired the quality!
Love seeing the variety of GRID builds that y’all are coming up with, can’t wait to see how hard they rip! Also, what the heck is that spy camo car?! Are y’all keeping secrets?! Great content as always, much love from Texas!
Must have missed this: czcams.com/video/AH6TjiFl058/video.html
@@HooniganProjectGarage I did miss that video, I’ll check it out!
I had a similar front setup in my falcon, it just turned out to be too much hassle vs just using shims and high miss-alignment bushings to space out control arms for toe plate alignments
btw, how could you not consider an Audi 5 cylinder?
I love Brian's build especially cool engine swap
Thank you Scotto for showing us how to pack bearings. Solid lesson 🤘
Throughout years of editing videos, I'm glad hoonigan videos still include the COD hit markers
I just watched a giant man pack bearings and I loved it. Great build series y'all.
The bearing packing tip- that's g/d good advice, no lie. Thanks
That is a really nice kit it is beautiful you do beautiful work biker showing us and not skipping a lot of things I like you guys doing more work and explaining and set it more talking
Scotto just made an entire generation proud by teaching people how to pack a bearing.
When he stuck his finger in the rotor was the best part of the video😂😂😂😂😂
Techno Tuning is the shit saved my car many times
Scotto episodes are my favorite
Love seeing scotto working on his cars, hole to see more napalm nova stuff in the future 👀
Little "scotto how do I pack bearings?" was great vibes
🎉🎉🎉 the most work we've seen scotto do on a car . Progess baby no more 20 min videos to loosen one bolt😅
Great video, so glad the project cars are back!
No Way....... Chris Meeke !?!?!?!?! Woowee fellas, way to level up.
Seeing scotto actually build a car... lol love it
These are really nice parts! It's almost like Scotto wants to build a racecar... 😜😁😇
Perfect timing..... Just starting work..... At my desk with my PC and Scotto.....
Time stealer... get to work..
Love this series, keep it coming!
Chris is a legend! So happy to see rally guys on the channel
A video with a racing alignment setup pro, testing and talking suspension adjustment theory would be super cool.
love this build always looking for the next episode!
This ae86 looks gorgeous already, love the gold/anthracite/purple-ish colors
Great to see Kris Meeke!
Cant wait til this is running!
Also get yourself a bearing packer. Much less mess and not expensive
I don't care what anyone says, vr6 in an 86 is so badass! I just think it should be a VR6T on low boost.
Love the Frankenstein type build. As long as it works👌🏽🤟🏾
I was surprised when Scotto mentioned using a panhard bar rather than a watts link. Watts link is pricier but better and a huge advantage of the 8.8 is the aftermarket selection of WLs
God loves a 3.2 VR6 and no rally legend can convince me otherwise!
SCOTTOOOOOO MUCH LOVE BROTHER YOU PICKED OUT THE A GREAT COMPACT UNIT FOR YOUR PROJECT .TEAM SCOTT-YOTA
Best way I have ever seen to pack grease in a bearing is in a vacuum bag. You just glob grease on top and set it in the bag. The bag shrinks and squeezes the grease perfectly.
Also a good way to have spares ready to go as they are preserved in the bag
Can't wait to see a finished setup
I love that Scotto is builidng a car but it feels like Vin and Ron will be doing donuts meanwhile Brian will be making brackets for brake lines
Good job with the bearings I’ve seen so many people do that wrong
Huge return to form from the hooligans boys we love to see it 👍👍👍👍
Might want to consider welding and reinforcing the front strut towers, since you'll be beating on it with probably something like 50-75% more spring rate.
I love this channel guys. Please keep this going. 🎉
Good job Brian! Looking good, keep it up.
Great video!! Keep up the great work!
Love these build videos
The pockets are mint lad
Love watching a Scotto getting er done
3:54. Editor that hit marker was brilliant
Hopefully we’ll see the diesel Land Rover D2 come back at some point :). I always wanted to see that one finished too…
Can’t wait to see the six episodes it takes for you to “Dial it in”
Super nice components.
1.49 - As a 'plastic paddy' I've been using a tape measure since I could count.
If you measure from the m,iddle the length does not matter. Place a center-line CL and get all the numbers from that datum.
Luv the sound of a VR6 powered Hachi! The only thing that’ll make this build better is if it was a 5cyl turbo Hachi that’s Quattro
Digging the montage music also great content as usual!
Editors killed it
Don't forget to safetywire for your rotor and hat bolts. Safety 3rd. fucking love you guys!
Good idea greasing while near the disc
I love it most out of the 3, hands down.
The matrix is crumbling. Scotto is actually working on his rides.
Awesome loved the input from the man 🥰🥰🥰
Great engine choice. Going to sound very different in a good way...
Please try and bring some sort of gymkhana grid to Canada! We are behind!!!
Scotto will have to hire a team to run his car =P
this is fun to watch.
It’s cooI that get to see this because my ae86 1JZ swap is also getting a 8.8 😅 as I’m watching this video
Daaaaaaaaaang! Kris Meeke!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Kris and I are from the same hometown!
Need to go turbo! Everything else is sick.
I love seeing Scotto getting the chance to work on his cars rather than having to do all the head Hoonigan things behind the scenes.
The idea to throw a vr6 into this is beyond cursed. It’s so wrong, it’s right. I love it 🤣
Aw good man Chris he's only up the road from me 🇮🇪🤙 😂
I ask my dad about your different metal problem , and he say that at the right tempeture you can weld cast iron ( pre-heat cast iron )with carbon steel.. 🙏 hopefully this help
Brian, my faith in you is restored. I thought you were some kind of Audi only head case.
