  • This 1967 Pontiac GTO is said to have spent approximately 30 years in storage in Clearwater, Florida, before it was purchased by a previous seller out of Pennsylvania in 1997. A color change refurbishment was completed during that ownership. The car is finished in black gloss over parchment upholstery and power comes from the factory original Quadrajet 4-barrel Rochester carbureted (#7037262) 400 CI V8 is topped by #670 heads, with factory air conditioning, paired with a three-speed automatic turbo 400 transmission. Features include tilt steering column, power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes, black vinyl top, center console, Hurst dual gate shifter and a AM/FM stereo.
Delivered from the factory in Burgundy (N), the 100% original body was stripped to bare metal before it was repainted during the Starlight Black (A) paint color change. Painted white pinstripes accent the straight panels and well minded gaps of this “Goat.” The bumpers, duel side mirrors and bright trim are original and in excellent condition.
The factory 15” rally wheels with Chrome trim rings are mounted with new (dated 2019) BF Goodrich raised white letter 235/60/15 radial tires. A full size spare is stowed in the trunk with a factory jack. Stopping power is provided by new power-assisted drums at all four corners. Additional recent work is said to have included replacing the front and rear shocks and adding rear air bags. Equipment includes a newly rebuilt quick steering box (2/5 turns), stainless steel (SS) Doug’s headers, electric exhaust cutouts, billet stainless steel Pypes duel exhaust with stainless steel Borla Turbo mufflers and new four-wheel power assisted drum brakes.
The cabin features low-back bucket seats and a rear bench that are retrimmed in the factory parchment vinyl. The dashpad, door panels and carpets are all in excellent condition. Additional equipment includes a center console, a Hurst “his and hers style” Dual Gate shifter, reproduction AM/FM stereo and original lap belts.
The wood rimmed, three-spoke, steering wheel frames four Rally gauges in a woodgrain panel, including a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 58k original miles.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a recently professionally rebuilt three-speed automatic turbo 400 transmission. The limited-slip differential is equipped with 3.08:1 gears, the frame is super clean and still shows original stampings (frame date: 9 15 66 1).
Recent work (2020) includes new AC wiring, new AC dryer, professionally rebuilt carburetor, new heater fan motor, new linkage alignment, new QA1 front shocks, rear air bags, new brakes and master cylinder, new steering linkage, alignment, new drive shaft and professionally rebuilt original transmission.
