Asura doesn't mean Demon at all. Devta also known as Sura(सुर). The Devtas (देवता/सुर) and Asuras (असुर) in Samudra Manthan (समुद्र मंथन) are one family. Devtas (देवता /सुर) and Asuras (असुर) are one family. So you see the whole world is a family. Bharatiya Philosophy is Vasudhaiva kutumbakama (वसुधैव कुटुंबकम्) . When it's says the whole world is a family. Doesn't mean that, all the family members are good. In fact the Kauravas (कौरव) Pandav (पांडव) are family.
In Monotheistic faiths,Demon /Devil and God are not one family . They don't believe in Vasudhaiva kutumbakama (वसुधैव कुटुंबकम्) at all.
