Had a hard time following along with that Barry Bonds story. KG and SC roll up to a party at BB’s crib, and there’s a nice court there so they start shooting around, which then devolves into a game of Pig and then 1v1s? SC wins the first game, KG wins the next, and then BB comes out to challenge KG (one injured leg and all), and KG beats him 7-0. Did I miss anything with that story?
Tell it... It's the only team I watched every game that year cause I had the channel. It was the best if Sam doesn't go down we win that 04 title for sure. Last time we were good until this year... 2004😊 i was 15.

Great interview. I suggest using audio recorder with 32-bit float. Place the mic in the middle of the chest underneath the sweat shirt. You can use gaff tape on cloth or moleskin if you putting the mic on skin.

I'm from Baltimore I lived across the street from 157 Georgie Kelson Elementary School in Sam would show up every now an then with his son real down 2 earth guy but he would neva play he'd just watch his son shoot around grab the boards for him in then leave nobody would bother Sam he'd move around with no security guards in this was at a time where he had just one with the rockets

If Isiah Thomas beat Magic 2X's in the NBA championship games, beat LEGEND and has a winning record vs the 1 who Most people call the GOAT - how the Hell is any PG better than him? Logically it doesn't make sense. Steph is so Dope, he shoots from the parking lot, handles are extraordinary and he Rebounds better than most guards. But to think there is a PG better than Zeke.

Given that the Lakers enjoyed the benefit of a dubious call at the end of Game Six, and given that Thomas' badly sprained ankle rendered him ineffective in Game Seven (and that Detroit still nearly won), that outcome is neither here nor there, but Detroit did lose. The Pistons swept the Lakers in the rematch a year later, but Los Angeles' starting shooting guard, the dynamic Byron Scott, missed the entire series due to a torn hamstring. Then, late in the third quarter of Game Two, with the Lakers leading, Magic Johnson pulled his hamstring and only played five more minutes the rest of the series. Thus that Detroit victory does not prove much of anything, either.
Thomas constituted a historic and explosive point guard, but many a historic point guard was far more efficient. Indeed, when the Pistons won the East in 1989, they did so with Thomas shooting just .390 from the field, .250 on threes (1.8 attempts per contest), and .732 from the free throw line in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, making for a dreadful True Shooting Percentage of .459. In six of those games, he failed to score 12 points, and on four occasions, Thomas failed to score ten.
Of course Thomas proved an indispensable player regardless, with his playmaking and leadership and just the threat of his scoring ability. But, obviously, he was not exactly dominating the competition. The Pistons won the East because they possessed the best team, because their stifling defense compensated for Thomas' inefficiency, and because the competition proved rather weak (the suddenly mediocre Celtics were without Larry Bird due to a season-ending injury, the Bucks' Terry Cummings played just seventeen minutes in the next series due to injury, and the Bulls constituted a less-than-elite, 47-win team that year). And then, of course, Detroit took advantage of an injury-riddled Laker club in the 1989 NBA Finals.
Now, again, the Pistons easily could have won the championship the previous year and proved unlucky in that regard, and they would repeat as champions in 1990, so their greatness proved legitimate. But it represented a total team effort, not a matter of Isiah Thomas amounting to the best player in the league or something. In fact, he did not even make an All-NBA Team after 1987, nor did his statistics warrant such an honor.
