It was so nice! Yes, I missed my kids something fierce but I truly believe it's important to take a little time away every once in awhile, even if it's only for a few hours. So good for the soul!

Girl, I don't ever want to hear you talk about not being self confident again. You are fierce!!! That hike looked so beautiful and peaceful. I lack the confidence to hike on my own. We all have our insecurities and fears but don't let anyone make you feel scared or ashamed to share. Enjoyed the vlog and this girl, as I am sure many others, would like to see more. I never comment on videos but I felt extremely compelled watching this. As someone who struggles with anxiety and social situations I am SO proud of you for doing this! I remember in past videos where you shared some of your concerns and hesitations with attending conferences/doing things like this by yourself and it is incredibly encouraging to see the progress you have made in your journey! You seem so confident, content, and happy to be doing this. AMAZING! Hope you had the best time and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your progress through your great content!
Thank you friend! With anxiety, just as with anything, I find that pushing myself (incrementally) pays off in big ways and practicing putting myself out there makes it much less scary and easier to do each time. I did have the best time and the trip reminded me how far I've come on my journey!

Oregon is BEAUTIFUL!! I lived near Portland for 4 years. Lots of vegan friendly food there too so you should be able to find it easy. Have fun in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!!

I love Eugene! :) My aunt lives near there. Its a nice city! Glad you enjoyed it in our rainy pacific northwest! If you ever make it to the Northwest part of Washington, you'd probably love Bellingham. Similar college town feel! Lots of hiking around there as well and things to do. Oyster Dome is a popular hike if you ever end up coming!

You should go hiking to spencers butte you get a wide view of all Eugene and Springfield, there's also mount Pisgah, but you need to drive

Do you have a video where you go into your favorite supplies for scrapbooking/memory keeping?
I don't...but there's been some requests to share how I do Project Life and that would fit in well with that video...once I actually get back to working on Project Life lol 😜
Do you ever memory keep stories that are just about you and Don and not include the kids? I find myself always including the kids and my husband is in them or not, but it's about the kids. I want to focus more next year on telling stories that aren't always about my children. While they are important, I need to remember my stories with my husband are as important. I really need to get better at this for sure.
Honestly, I haven't done this since having kids with the exception of One Little Word, which is just for me about me. It's something Ali has me thinking about including more of, though.

So what do you think of the great northwest ?. I dont live to far from Eugene, about 75 miles. You do need to be careful out walking the trails. Plenty of cougars out there, one was shot a few months back close to my sons house in a rural neighborhood. Hope you enjoyed your trip!

Not a fan of the woods. We have trails on the back of our property, and my husband and sons tell me it's beautiful!
For work/trips like these, do you set a spending budget?
I bank rolled this trip with my own savings and was conscious of a general budget as I set aside funds for this trip in advance. I tend to spend more on convenient flights so I can get home to my kids when I want to (like right before they wake up from naps or in the am) and accommodations. I don't set aside much for souvenirs or shopping (except for a couple of toys for my kids, I always bring them back something) and I don't need a huge food budget on my own. The event itself plus the travel and hotel were what I spent 90% of my budget on for this one and it worked out great,

Jen, I have rheumatoid arthritis and Kava is kind of a pain relieving/ "not so much" for me ...anti-anxiety tea, I think you would really enjoy it, it's not gonna get you high or anything like that with social anxiety or any kind of anxiety this is a natural alternative to medicine that a lot of people are turning to now because of the governments crack down on opiates etc. it's harder for us to get pain management so we're moving on to plants Instead of poison, If you get a chance again I would try it you can also order it online, this would be awesome for you to drink in the evening after the kids go to bed during a bath or anything, it's completely safe been using it for about five years along with other plants and herbs for my pain, doesn't do too much for my pain, I take other things for that but for relaxation, the best ☺️ I have to say it's so good to see you out enjoying yourself doing something you love so many mothers feel guilty and don't do those things when they really need them, enjoyed this very much good to see you smile 😊

It’s crazy how someone can see Eugene as a beautiful place when I’ve lived here almost my whole life we have tons of crime that comes and goes because we live off of interstate 5 that runs all the way from California through Washington tons of drug use lots of homeless people it’s crazy here I’m tired of this town nothing good comes from it and also Willamette is pronounced WILL-AM-IT
