Thanks for keeping Game Sack going Joe. You’re incredibly talented.
Thanks. :)
Read this comment just after I watched him drop a deuce... and yet, I agree.
Agreed, thank you for your hard work, your voice is welcoming and warm, we need this in the world right now. ✊🏽
@@GameSack Yeah man. Thanks for the ritual of the night power strip weapon too :D
Your other half is taking a break?
Game Sack is my comfort watch, soothing gameplay, nice editing and voice over!
Stupid game sack!
the Game Sack is a little place where we can get together....Game Sack, baby, Game Sack!
@@Video-Games-Are-Fun it sits way back in the middle of the hills
I rewatched the scene of Joe doing his Black Belt chirp at all available speeds on CZcams. Worth it.
So that's where Ja Rule's career went after Hip Hop lol
Well, that and helping organize the infamous Fyre Festival.
Yeah I guess for messing with 50. Nooo monicaaa
TRANQUILIZER GUN remake looks adorable ! Dragging drugged animals into a truck never looked cuter !
“Aw well, I’m not gonna change it”
-Game Sack, 2020
I just watched Retro Core's video about all the sega ages
I swear I'm having deja vu
Yep, that makes two of us.
It's a glitch in the Matrix. It means they changed something.
Both shows seem to be merging into each other.
It's always weird when 2 of CZcamsrs you subscribe to release a video covering the same game/movie/etc. within a few days of one another. I get thinking, "um, did I watch that already?"
I was going to comment the same thing.
That theme from Dragon Force instantly reminded me of Skies of Arcadia, and I was right, it was the same composer.
I thought exactly the same thing. Makes sense it was the same composer.
“You might know this as Black Belt for the SMS.”
Oh, and also Last Battle for the Genesis. 😖
That's the sequel.
Cool. Just did a video on these myself last week. Missed 5 or so volumes because I don't own them but crammed all the ones I do own in to one show. It was good to hear your comments on these Joe, especially the earlier ones since like myself, you're bit of a Sega fan.
Looking forward to your next Battle of the ports! One of my fave retro series on CZcams :)
Nice seeing another one of my favorite channels here!
lol I was just thinking "Didn't I just watch this video?"
Yeah I mentioned that on Twitter. Amazing synergy!
@@NP-ip3nj had to plug their channel on a comment somewhere lol
Thanks for the new content! I always thumbs-up a new game sack video before I watch it because I know it isn't going to suck. Sometimes it sucks. But the thumb is always there.
I've been waiting for this episode about the Sega 2500 on PS2 for so long! I love this series, and also thought that the Sega Classics we got on PS2 was super underrated. Thank you for finally doing them justice
The phrase: “final Phantasy Star” 🤓
My favorite RPG Phinal Phantasy Star
Thanks for keeping the flame lit Other Guy. Dave White would be proud. RIP in peace Mr. White.
Wait a minute, did Dave die?
You should definitely follow this up with a marathon of the Simple series of games. DO IT!
That Fantasy Zone release is really interesting with it's polygons imitating pixel art.
Kind of seems like a super early version of the tech the recent Guilty Gears are using.
Wow, this was on the PS2!? Man, I missed a wonderful gem! I'm glad you brought this to light! Thanks!!
Just finished Generations 1 a while ago. It's so sad that they didn't see it through and remake the rest of the series. I would have loved seeing PS3 turn into a game that could be loved by more people than me.
I would have been really curious to see how parts 3 and 4 turned out!
Gameplay wise ps3 is better than 2 imo.
Story obviously doesnt stand a chance since it was originally planned to be a gaiden (side story) entry, until sega did what sega does and meddle.
3 would have benefitted greatly from a remake.
4 is one of the greatest JRPGs ever made and doesn't need the help; the pacing, the characters, the music are all incredible.
Chrono Trigger is the only better paced RPG than Phantasy Star 4, with the latter getting a nostalgia boost because I was much younger when I played it.
@@diegoarmando5489 Phantasy Star 4 doesnt deserve a remake. It deserves to be remained as the best jrpg on the genesis.
They were planning on skipping PS3, and remaking PS4. The 3 games were supposed to be a collection release as Phantasy Star Trilogy.
Phantasy Star 3 needs a remake the most, but it needs a lot more work than they were willing to put into it here, so I’m glad they skipped it.
On the day of this channels anniversary it'd be cool to see you and Dave together again even if it was for just one episode
@Timothy Shawn he stepped away due to life stuff and not having enough time to devote to the channel
Love your vids, thorough, fun, professional and calming af.
No other reviewer makes me laugh out loud like you. So many times my girlfriend asks me why I’m chucking, so often it’s GameSack. She loves you too Joe.
Wow, how time flies, I started watching this channel 7 years ago and it's still amazing. I'm glad it's still going strong after all these years.
Alright, love watching these early in at night.
Same I like sleeping to gamesack lol
In my country it's actually morning lmao
In soviet russia, game sacks you!
I'm watching at 3am
This channel has been my comfort show the past few weeks. Glad I stumbled upon it
Best part of being a game sack's fan if that you never run out of videos to watch.
Great video as always Joe. I needed a good look at these curious remakes
I'm still so sad we never got the 2 Phantasy Star remakes. But Sega hates us westerners for some reason.
man, I've been playing PS2 for a long time and I've never heard of those remakes for it... mind blown. Thanks Joe!!
Waited a week till both vids were out,
watched both vids back-to-back,
immediately went to a bay for pirates,
now have ALL Sega Ages 2500 =D
The episode I've been waiting for!
There is a spelling mistake in the opening title of the original Japanese release of Alien Syndrome, it’s written “Oliginal” game ©SEGA. However, they've fixed it for future releases.
With that said... I had a lot o fun with this game... considering I won’t die with just one hit like the arcade!!
I lived in Japan when these came out! I’d always pick out the good ones when they dropped, but avoided the turds (of which there were sooo many)
Hopefully Sega will release these games one day so we can all enjoy them
This is probably one of the best palindromicly named software series based episodes of Game Sack.

Sunday mornings with coffee and Gamesack. Can't think of anything better.
I've always wondered about these games but never did bother to look them up or try them out on an emulator. It is great you are doing a video on every single one. It will be helpful in the future as well when somebody wants to learn about these games.
Great episode Joe. I was totally oblivious to this line of titles.
Fist of the North Star is based on a beloved & ultra-violent Anime/Manga Franchise that also takes inspiration from Mad Max and Bruce Lee and in some weird way became influential to other franchises in the future such as Double Dragon and even Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. When Kenshiro does that wild scream of his, it's an homage to Bruce Lee that was even used in nearly every rendition of the games moving forward.
This, MLiG, Jeremy Parish's channel, all fantastic channels!!!
Great vid joe! Can’t wait for part 2
*THANK YOU FOR THE CONTENT!!!*
_especially Sega-related_
My only issue with Phantasy Star on Ages was the horrible noise the doors does every time you enter ir exit a room. I really liked the art and music and the map is super usefull.
I really appreciate these reviews of remakes of classic games 😀
Every sunday morning without a new Game Sack's video is a empty morning!
Next, go through all of the "Simple Series". The PS2 alone has well over 100 of those.
I always think of Joe riding a horse on a beach when I hear the intro music. Have a great day.
A dream episode for me, thanks Joe!
Perfect way to end my Saturday! :D
perfect way to begin Sunday :)
I want the remade golden axe soundtrack on a CD. Sega released a golden axe music compilation which didn’t include the 2500 sega ages music. For shame.
Do you know about the Brazilian metal band "Megadriver" and their cover versions of classic video game music, including Golden Axe?
@@ozonesama No, will have to look for them.
I would rebuy that version of Alien Syndrome in a heartbeat today. That and Virtua Racing were the highlights of the US package. BTW, Alien Syndrome is actually a twin stick shooter. The footage looked like you were just using the the fire button.
Great video and I enjoy the humor, especially the alien bit.
The phrase "final Phantasy Star" really wigged out my brain....
I LOVE this series, it's WAY AWESOME!!!
Always enjoy game sack, thanks JOE!
loved seeing your personal take on the topic!
8:45 Oof that deinterlacing combing.
Good video as always tho!
That was a great episode, thank you. Looking forward to next week and seeing how Die Hard Arcade fares.
'And we love defeating aliens!' That's a jem.
Need that tee! Love the AGES series and love Game Sack so today is a good day!
The new Space Harrier looks like comic book Captain Marvel riding a Luck Dragon from The Neverending Story...
Looks more like a giant dong.
great video, love it!
Seems M2 had growing pains! Great video!
I'm surprised that you're gonna upload part 2 next week, part 1 is already quite a doozy in terms of length and content, and is easily its own episode. Thank you for the extra upload though, much appreciated.
Also those Hokuto no Ken and Alien Syndrome skits are hilarious, made me laugh hard which is welcome in my fatigued from stress state xD
simply wonderful, thank you
So Phantasy Star Generation 1 has a rapper who hasn't been relevant in decades. Good to know.
I'm VERY eagerly awaiting the next episode!!! O_O
Awesome video. Love the show.
Great stuff as always!
Im glad the little fart sound is back in business; that and the fact that my boy joe still comes through with these awesome vids; much appreciated my guy! I wish you the best.
I got the Classics Collection a while ago, and I'm glad I did. I really liked Fantasy Zone, Tant-R, Space Harrier, and Alien Syndrome. Maybe someday they'll put out a full translated collection of these.
Quite a collection. Always wondered about this library of games. Maybe not all games work with being remade. But it's fun to revisit the past
Excellent episode!
this episode could use gamesack's hyper real dare-to-compare turbo comparison screen™
It's a shame that Phantasy Star IV didn't get a remake. One of my all time favourite games. It doesn't need redone but it would have been nice to see.
Best ending skit in a long time. A+
Ahhh Sunday morning Game Sack. It’s like church for nerds!
New Gamesack is like watching Ebert and Roeper with just Ebert. Regardless I have to say the show has never dipped in quality unlike some CZcams shows.
Golden Axe deserves a ARPG series.
The rearranged music of the Ages/Sega Classic collection sound godlike by the way great job guys.
I love my Ps2 and the Sega Ages Series 😍.
Made my Sunday!
Keep up the great work joe!
I think these came to the west in a compilation I remember playing these.
I used to own Sega Classics Collection for the PS2 it was a nostalgic game for me
This series gets a LOT better in the later releases. The early ones where they tried to do 3D updates are definitely rougher. Still, I really actually enjoy the reimagined Alien Syndrome, and the Gain Ground remake is fun if you've played the Genesis game to death and want a new challenge.
Seeing Joe mimic Kenshiro's ATATATATA is both hilarious and horrifying
Lol
Joe: You can always count on Ja Rule.
50 cent enters the chat
Damn!
Alien Syndrome is probably my personal favorite Sega Ages remake.
I have fond memories of Black Belt. :) I was very surprised when I found out it was a modified Hokuto no Ken game, decades later, since, by then, I had become a fan of the manga. And I definitely recommend the manga. It hasn't aged as well as, say, Dragon Ball, but it's still a very fun ride.
Back in the day, I'd probably have gotten a few of these Ages games, since I tend to like SEGA's classic arcades a lot. But I never had a PS2 and none of them came out in the PC.
I'll be looking forward to next week and the (time) 'Bonuh' episode.
Great video Joe
Part 2: Arcade classics we love for generations; NEXT EPISODE - Sega Forever...
I may be in the minority, but I really enjoyed the Golden Axe remake. Really a lot of fun, especially in 2 player coop.
Thought it was boring garbage vs emulated arcade original
That Hokuto no Ken game looks great! I also need to play the new one on PS4!
Everyday should be filled with a sack of games
GAMESACK ROX!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH GAMESACK!!!!
Sick Black Belt cover at the start there
Oh damn! I forgot all about Bonanza Brothers. I would always play it when I went over to my cousins house. I was horrible at it because I couldn’t quite understand it when I was younger but I loved the fact that you played as the crook instead of a hero.
got tired of waiting for MLIG, here comes Gamesack to the rescue!!!!
Love your Ken impression.
Awesome. You tricked me into thinking you were going to start phoning it in.
God I wish Dragon Force had an english patch, the Saturn version is one of my personal favorites. Always wanted to play the PS2 remake but really would find it more enjoyable with a patch.
Hey Joe, what's the name of the tune playing in the background from the 07:30 Mark? It sounds like a Samba version of Splash Wave from Outrun, but I'm not familiar with an arrangement of it that sounds like that, and a quick search on CZcams isn't providing any matches. Thanks!
Edit: Just realised it's not Splash Wave, it's After Burner from, er, After Burner. Still not familiar with the arrangement though, thought it might be the version from After Burner 3 on the Mega CD, but nope.
