This is exactly how my grandmother taught me as a pre-teen to cook smothered pork chops, pork steaks and chicken. Her main ingredient was LOVE IN THOSE POTS. I never forgot it. I'll always remember being her pivot person in the kitchen. Many recipes I remember by the ingredients I handed her. Life was so much sweeter then bc of the love, plenty of good foods and the lessons we were taught. Thank you for the memories.💞💞
You done made me wanna cook!
What was the first seasoning you used
Im doing mine old school way right now lol

Just watching you cook them early this morning is putting me back to sleep!!!! LoL. I love smothered pork steaks!!!! Continue to keep stirring up your gifts for the Lord! 🎁🎁

There you go again with cavenders. Up north we been using cavenders on pan fish since i was a boy im 58 now. This recipe looks great cant wait to try it. Yesterday i made the fried chicken wings from your other video just like you said only i did let them soak in the buttermilk mixture for 24 hours. By far best fried chicken I ever ate. Now chef, you took me way back to my youth with the flour in bag. Mother use to put it in the brown paper grocery bags, ( no plastic bags back then) shake meat up and use that old dirty flour (lol). I enjoy watching and cooking new things.Be blessed.
Thank you Jeffrey for another old School soul food meal keep it coming please.
Cowboy fan, I'm with you !
THis is cooking with love of food....Thank you.
Most welcome 😊
The memories that this brings back of my grandmother making smothered pork chops, that were actually pork steaks as I learned when I got older. This meal will leave you wanting for nothing else. I would probably add some collard greens to this, slice up some tomatoes and onion, and I will be in heaven. I would probably let a Tahitian treat or a Pepsi sit in the freezer until he got just a little bit of ice in there, and that will be all she wrote
This my favorite meal ever!
This dish would make the world stand still…xoxoxox perfect big huge gigantic love from Colorado

Good Sunday Morning Chef, luv any steak with smothered gravy!! I can smell it all the way up here yummy!! Have a Blessed Day 🙏🤗
Pork steaks were among the first meat dishes Mother taught us to make as young children and her recipe is still a huge crowd-pleaser.
Marinate pork steaks 1 to 1.5 inches thick with an overnight rub, then brown them in seasoned flour the next day.
After browning, layer the pork steaks thickly and evenly between each one with lots of skin-on cored sliced apple, sliced fresh garlic and light brown sugar. Bake slowly in a deep covered casserole for 2+ hours, or until fork-tender, depending on the steaks' thickness. A lot of delicious natural gravy will be made.
Serve with baked, buttered sweet potatoes or steamed jasmine rice and a green vegetable or chef's salad. Optional beverage: Anything carbonated or apple cider. For dessert: Lemon meringue pie and hot tea or coffee.
Mmmm. I'm gonna make that to-day! And some sweet tea. I make my corn with butter and pearl onions. Cheers from Portugal Thank you chef!
Ecclesiastes 3:12, 13 - "I have concluded that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good during their life, also that everyone should eat and drink and find enjoyment in all his hard work. It is the gift of God." Great Job, Chef.

Looks delicious Chef Jeffrey!!!
Wonderful Chef. I have just learned how to cook pork steaks that require slow low cooking to be tender. My mum was a pork expert as it was cheap and depending on the parts have so many ways to flavor and eat. My Daddy even did a whole pig smoked and pit cooked in the ground. Mom being German made potatoes dozens of ways. Gravy meant mashed potatoes. In the Spanish food section you can get pork bouilion. And Worshire sauce was invented in the UK and You Tube had a video. You will love it. Thanks for all the tips. Big heavy pot was my moms slow cooker too and the pressure cooker if she wanted faster. love ya brother.
One other thing I like stewed greens or okra tomatoe chopped and corn as side dishes
