BOXING DAY BLAZE - FRNSW Battle 3rd Alarm House Fire in Kent Street, Waverley

'Boxing Day Blaze'
At around 11am FRNSW were called to Kent Street in Waverley for reports of a BBQ Alight on the middle floor of a 3 level home. Whilst Crews from Randwick (39) and Woollahra (11) were responding, the fire had been confirmed to have spread to the house and was beginning to take hold of the top level.
FRNSW Comms upgraded the incident to a 2nd alarm structure fire prior to Pump 39's arrival and about an hour into the incident Duty Commander Georges River upgraded yet again to a 3rd Alarm Structure fire for additional BA Crews and Gear due to the nature of the fire and the difficulty firefighters had on gaining control and extinguishing the blaze.
