Nitish, you have said the term "popularity", this popularity is created by internet media. Big and small institutions have made many many student to step into their trap in the name of skill upgradation, but very few (Srikanth Verma Sir and you) go deep into the mathematics. This field is not for everyone, only those who are strong in maths and stats will be successful in AI
1. Do you have mathematical/analytical thinking?
2. Are you good in algebra, graphs etc?
3.What is your motivation?
4. Do have patience to learn ML/AI?
If you have the Patience to learn, all the above mentioned three things will be completed :)
It took me 1.7 years to get me the 1st job, that too with 6 months of internship... nitish is right, it is very easy to get your foot in the door, but is very vast and time taking process to be able to contemplate what exactly is going on behind the scenes, you dont need to be good at memorizing, but you must be a good critical thinker.. for a fresher to start and get your first job is still as hard if not harder than other fields, so please be rational with your expectations guys. The journey is beautiful though, there will be many many moments in the study, where you will be blown away by the facts and techniques people have used to build these amazing algorithms and maths behind it. I have had genuine curiosity regarding how softwares, llms and all work, having not pursued cs or engineering in my ug i am again drawn towards this side. Analytically also I'm quite sound and it will be a great learning for me to delve deeper in this field. But the dilemma i"m stuck on between is whether I should go for mba from tier 1 iims (barely missed admision this time) or get into ds & ml. What driving me more towards mba is the business impact on day to day basis, having worked for 2 years in operations I don't want to be stuck in a desk corporate job, & having not much say in business decisions.

B). Do you want to start an AI job only to earn money a lot?
C). Do your circumstances push you to go to the AI field?
D). Phomo: Feel fear that only AI field job holders are doing great but I am a loser.
