Congratulations from Canada, I born in Sri Lanka and being Buddhist it's very sad to see headless Buddha statues, I did read many articles regarding this particular temple in Cambodia. I've seen many photos of Angkor Wat, but never a video. It was stunning, so much so that I even got a bit choked up as you were entering the first temple. Ta Prohm seemed truly magical. Seeing the crowds the next morning, it seemed that you two were smart (lucky?) to have gone the first day in the heat of the day, having the temples almost to yourselves. Great video!
Angkor Wat is our biggest religious temple in the world. Even we Cambodian are not Hinduism, we really proud of this temple and still wonder how they made.
Watching this was a flashback to my trip to Angkor Wat .....I also did Bagan in Myanmar....both were absolutely amazing. Great video guys 😊

The individual was fired immediately. The organisation lost many thousands in donations and programmes had to be cut, including Cambodia. Her action cost lives. I met people who spent time with her in Cambodia who sad she was very arrogant.

Glad you rated Bayan and places you saw in Myanmar right up there Angkor Wat as those places were mind-blowing. I was surprised how well your camera picked up Carol’s voice so clearly when you were on the e-bikes as she seemed well behind you. Carol might think she doesn’t have good ‘balance’ when it comes to stacking rocks but she moves so gracefully around the temples in her long skirt - she added much-needed color to the somewhat monochromatic temples. I noticed Kara & Nate’s video title of Angkor Wat is to not go to the sunrise there ... why? cuz it’s mobbed with people? Maybe u experienced less of a sunrise crowd then they did. Your whole Southeast Asia series has been excellent - you are really picking cool spots to visit in each country. Cheers then!
I got up to see sunrise all thee days I spent there. Just the first at the overcrowded Angkor. We went to quieter spots the next two mornings. I love it there!!

We've been there last month and the hole that you're referring to in 5:19, is the King's pool according to our guide. You're just lucky enough that there's not a lot of tourist in there on your first day tour. And when you climb the stairs do it sideways not like crawling up said our tour guide before.
I was to be in Vietnam Cambodia this time but cancelled due to the virus.

We spent 11 days in Siem Reap early January 2020. It was our 2nd trip there but our first visit was in amazement. This time got to do a deep focus on the temples.
You definitely were lucky to visit when there were hardly any people. I'd say coronavirus was ro blame as Chinese we quarantined now.

When I went to Angkor Wat many years ago the main facade entrance was under renovation and took a motorbike taxi for a whole day tour of Siem Reap for $20 and stayed at a very nice hotel for $19. I took the 1 day pass instead of 3. I’m glad I did that. I was Wat out after 3 hours so 3 day pass was just a scam imo. I will go back again to visit. It’s been more than 10 years since. Brings back a fond memories of solo Traveling exploring SE Asia. Can’t wait to to back again.

Was there a few weeks ago. Stunning place.
Machu Picchu is the place to see before you die.....and in Peru, you can take a trip from Iquitos to a fantastic lodge by boat on the Amazon River in the jungle.....the 3 most amazing days i have ever spent.....meet the Yagua tribe who do their dances in their large ceremonial hut, do the friendship dance, play with the kids, their 3 toed sloth pets....catch piranha, see cayman, do a canopy walk up rope ladders to get to the top of the jungle....snake dances, performances by the schoolkids during dinner, hike to see a medicine man in the jungle in his little hut, get your soul cleansed......Peru is a fantastic country.....but to live, nothing beats SE Asia....i have lived on penang island, phuket island, koh samui, now Da Nang Vietnam......this is the place to be..... ; )
