Thanks!
Good video. Helped me out. I didn't know about the push pins and thought I was going to break something off until I saw this. Thanks dude!
Truck fixed, thank you
Thanks this is a super helpful video.
Glad it was helpful!
Helpful 😅
Very helpful, thanks.
Glad to help you!
Nice job on this video! Very detailed how-to. I like that!
Thanks and that's cool of you to say since you own a 4runner!!!
I'm sure your guidance works for a clean truck, but mine was dirty, and that bulb connector would not turn no matter what. It was helpful to know which way to turn, so thank you for that. After much struggle, I was able to turn it by inserting a flat blade screwdriver between the connector and the housing lip and gently prying up WHILE turning. As always, this should be done with caution since it is plastic after all. Thanks again.
Well my truck was covered in sand all over back in the lights and I thought about showing how I had to do a deep clean up in there but figured most people wouldn't be interested in that part.
Thank you so much! Your video was great and very informative! I did both all by myself and was able to show my daughter some girl power.
I have the same issue. My bottom bulb doesn’t light up when the lights are on but does light up when I press the brake. I guess it’s still a bulb issue.
Yep, two different nodes in there.
This was perfect. Thankyou because those guys who give you shit for this and that did not help me fix shit.. These trucks are awsome cause they're easy to work on
Can you use LED bulbs, or does that cause issues, fast blinking, etc?
Looking for an answer in the comments! I have changed my bulb on my left rear light, yet my “rear light failure” warning won’t leave my dash everytime I use the turn signal. Bulbs work but every time I turn it on after the first few clicks it begins rapidly flashing and giving the warning. Advice on how to correct this?
did you swap it for an LED light? If so, you need to add a load resistor. this tricks the electronics into thinking you still have a halogen bulb, as they act very differently.
Hey, so my running light is out but the brake light works, it seems there is only 1 bulb... is that right or do I have other issues? It's the bottom one exactly where yours was out, did the brake light come on when you hit the brakes or were both out for you?
I'm not really sure but generally one light bulb can sometimes do 2 different things. Use a partner to stand behind the vehicle and watch your lights while you test it out!
This is what is going on with mine.
You should never touch the bulb with your bare fingers. The oils from your skin can cause the the bulb to heat up and burn out prematurely. Just FYI
Thanks for the tip!
Hey man I liked, subscribed and hit that bell. Ill make a playlist of your videos so they can play while I'm away! Hope this helps like you have helped me. I do have a question I live in the great white north salt and sand always gets into my harness and my bulb connectors tend to rust to the harness connectors. Is there any thing for that you would recommend, maybe like dielectric grease? I had a really hard time getting the bulbs out as they were rusted to the connectors. I made a big mess of things and had replace the entire harness. Thanks in advance!
Don't touch the bulb with your fingers. It is also written in the instructions. Thank You for this video. The plastic push pins are very cheap, one of mine lost a little holding leg, it broke pulling out. Dealers do not sell this part only!
You need a torx head bit to remove the two screws not phillips
Guess yours is different!
the easiest one of the bunch, the front headlight is a bitch.
Hope I don't have to replace that anytime soon!
The headlight bulb was difficult to be sure, but once again, a flat blade screwdriver gently inserted in the front slot allowed me to ease it out.
Actually you will need a T-15 TORX screw driver and yes it’s very dirty!
Look in there, you can see the tires!
Chevy piece of junk!
