I think something that would have made the crayola one was color the bottom sole crayon colors
That's a cool suggestion but we don't recommended to paint on soles... the paint isn't guaranteed to hold up on that type of surface.

how long dry time do you give the shoes between coats?
So when painting something other than leather and it's soft I should add 2 soft? And for say for instance the leather soles I should add 2 hard?
Also in between colors for the air brush we don't need to cleaning the cup?

Definitely recommended. You will have a combination of the two if not.
how much time do you have between laying down paint on the liner and starting the heat set process? on a regular, non-toddler-sized shoe, can one simply paint the whole liner and then heat set (repeating as necessary for coverage while heating between layers) just like this toddler-sized shoe? or should one paint half the shoe liner, heat set, paint the other half, heat set, and then continue to repeat until desired coverage is reached?
Yes, if it covers well enough for your liking then 1 coat then heat setting it will be just fine. The less paint the better of course. Repeat the steps if necessary.

If you don’t mix anything with the paint and use it on vans will it crack? Because my heat gun broke so i cant use 2-soft, and i have to get some shoes done.

Custom is sick. Is that red electrical tape? Does it peel off easier the scotch tape?
It Red vinyl tape. Peels off easy and very flexible.

You would want to purchase a Cricut machine to do that. There are tons of videos that show the process.
