"Japo-Scandinavian..." 😂😂
You're getting my dander up, you grotty little man!
"Wait Until After The Meal!" 😂😂😂😂
That Angry Posh Twat always cracks me up! Lol I know he had every right to get pissy cos Manuel was checking out his FIANCÉE'S LEGS but if it weren't for the fact that the Health Inspector happen to be sitting opposite him, I like to think Basil would have thrown a Cream Pie in his face or something.
Yes he would have done.
Don't shush me!!
We have a bread box. For any bread that's gone past it's prime...
Oh god, I'm cracking up at this clip even though I've seen it so many times. Superb!
The couple is cute and ridiculous at the same time.
The woman is cute, the guy is ridiculous.
It's vealy, vealy good!
It's all there. There there there there and there
Japo-Scandinavian! 🤣
- It should say "eel"
- Eel escalope?
🤣🤣
that guy with the fiancee sounds like the jugde in Futurama
That's funny do you mind!
The waiter seemed more interested in my fiance legs
Than basil really may I? That part always makes me laugh
Is that likely? I'm trying to think of what I find most beautiful in women... Do women with freckled faces get waiters staring at their faces instead of taking their orders? ❤
"What the eye don´t see the chef get´s away with"
Thank´s for this inspiration. I will try it with our family.
Eel escallop 🤣
Indeed. A real speciality you won't find in many establishments.
@@TheLowerIntestine A stuffed hoovercraft with eels.
That's some accenthe has. Sounds like a Millwall fan.
Can't Basil and Co just have one smooth successful interaction with anyone??? Always things go awry
There would be no show then :-)
@@herbertvonzinderneuf8547 Plus everyone who works in the hotel are stupid, yet Basil and Sybil think they are clever but they are really very stupid
@@lusyhognaston3777 Polly was written as the voice of sanity in the madness. But even she does some silly things at times.
@Rowan Melton He does a lot of stupid things though.
@Rowan Melton That is true.
The obvious solution would have been to just leave the rat in the lady's bag and let them leave.
It's Manuel's pet, a rare Siberian hamster.
if they found a rat in their bag, they would have complained about it coming from the hotel, which would get Basil into trouble.
It's a hhamster. Siberian special breed. Cost five pounds (a lot of money in the seventies).
genius
This joke, the one at 1:56, has stuck with me more than any other. Anytime veal is brought up, in any way, shape, or form, I interject; that’s a misprint.
It should say… um… _eel._
This is tops. I can't stop laughing with this.
So that’s paté and one Windsor SOOOUUPPP !!!
Basil: *Addressing the health inspector* Is your Veal um..
Polly: *Whipsering* In Her bag
Basil: in her bag?
Me: Ewwww! Mr. carney is old enough to be her dads age.
Cant blame manuel to be honest for being interested in the woman's legs to be honest. Nicely shaped ones too
Peter Burke that women at the table is actually Andrew Sach’s real life wife now sadly his widow!
She was practically advertising herself.
@@oc888 The woman at the table is Sabina Franklyn daughter of William Franklyn she was never married to Andrew Sachs. Melody Lang an older woman with dark curly who appears briefly in the episode as part of another couple was his wife.
@@Raider577 "Don't shush me." - "Schhh, you know who..."
Pervert!
Health regulations , before it moulds. Pmsl.
Brine Windsor soup
I once watched a brilliant imitator re-creating John Cleese in the famous 'rat under the table ' episode of Fawlty Towers. He was amazing - he had John Cleese down to a 'T'. The only thing was - he wasn't funny!
I guess it is the voice and body movements that make John Cleese in the 1970s funny. When he got older, he lost that edge and became unfunny.
@@marcschramm6958 Did he become unfunny or just slow down with making sitcoms?
@@ColtraneTaylor voice, face and body movements make Cleese so funny. Facial expressions, voice and agility suffer when getting older.
@@marcschramm6958 Yeah there is that.
Could somebody tell me which English region the man's accent is from?
It's not so much regional as it's very posh/upper class.
It's refined English. He may have been educated at Eton.
Lol
The posh male (couple) I remember acting pretty much the same on an episode of George and Mildred.
Curious that the inspector in the background is not showing more interest to the fiasco going on.
He's only interested in Health and Safety, not rubbish service in general.
@@cityman2312 Yes, but he would surely still be alarmed at what was going on, and also, that sort of chaos may come under the H & S act?
So the rat isn't there when Polly is and the dining room is empty, but it is there when Polly isn't there and the room is crowded. Typical.
Rats are like that, keep them out of your life (Manuel should have realised)
@@cityman2312 Agreed.
Manuel was looking at the ladies legs because in real life it was his wife, I know you couldn’t make it up.
No, that is not correct at all. The woman at the table is Sabina Franklyn. Andrew Sachs was married to Melody Lang - you can see her (with dark curly hair) sitting at the table in the background together with a man.
