The time difference kicked my butt on my Alaska cruise a few weeks ago. That difference between Alaska and Florida is no joke, so I understand Noa’s pain lol

On the wedding...the ship should have posted the hours with a "special event" notification on the daily schedule and in the entrances of the venue. I am trying to plan a 35th vow renewal on RCL next year and...I may have to find a way to do it in a port. Noa is a trooper. Time change is a beast for all of us. SO happy that y'all are taking her to dinner and letting her experience all that is available to do!

Now is honestly one of the most beautiful babies I’ve seen in my life. Eyeballs 👀 always on her. Love a 🍸bar with handcrafted cocktails . Chic night? Oh wow. Yes love that statement…’The hunger that never ends on a cruise ship’ i got what ya sayings for sure. . Concerning the martinis. I was told you only have to pay the difference if you have the classic drink pkg.. Noa is so cute. I just had my first grandson aug 1st…maybe they will meet up one day on a cruise😂

I’ve seen areas and whole venues blocked off tons of times on cruise ships. I’m surprised this seemed unusual to you. In my case, they are usually blocked off for some type of private event for top tier cruisers. Happens all the time! And I know you have attended such events, haha.

@kakk00 if you watched the video you would have noticed that they sat down and were enjoying their time there until they were suddenly asked to leave with no notice or signage which they said was unusual to what they have experienced before. Im surprised that you didnt grasp the experience they wanted to share as that is what they do in their videos (share their experiences). Thank you Alyssa for sharing an experience that seemed a little off from what you are used to experiencing.

If you have the Clasdic drink package, it covers up to $10. You just pay the difference. And of course, the gratuity. 😊

Nope. The Sky Lounge is why you cruise this class of ship for Alaska. They should not have been thrown out of it for some "private event" on a sea day.
That is weird that they only had one inside area and it gets closed off for a wedding........Even the smaller ships I have been on there is multiple inside venues you can sit in without being kicked out for a wedding. All the ships now that depart from Australia have on indoor pool too so when it is cold you can swim indoors.
The Rendezvous lounge is a good sized lounge but they had some stupid art auction preparation blocking off a large part of the lounge. The thing with the Sky Lounge is it has great views and that's what people want to see in Alaska and from inside as it tends to be cold there. There is the Solarium inside pool on the Millennium and all Celebrity ships as well.
sea days on celebrity tend to be pretty slow till the afternoon...they kinda assume everyone is sleeping in lol esp. in alaska

Area will be closed off due to a private event / Wedding Many would have understood , but to be treated in the way you were🤦♀️ Nope that not customer Friendly at all .

With beverage packages you should pay the difference. So the martinis should be $2.00 Right? We havent done Celebrity but the other lines we have done, we paid the difference.
Just got off Celebrity Equinox and I totally agree with you about the drinks. We're Diamond Plus with RCCL and can get a drink anywhere on the ship, at any time. I ended up getting a drink after 4PM, which we were told you could do with Elite Concierge and I was charged $12 for it. Except for the room steward (Sanjay, who was awesome), we're done with Celebrity for a number of reasons.
This is a helpful comment to us, as we are diamond plus with RCCL, too, and we’re booked on the Beyond for next year. Not super thrilled with the things we’re hearing in regards to taking our status over to Celebrity…
It's a premium cruise line. That means they charge a premium for their drinks!

We went on Norwegian Bliss in April. We were the first cruise out of Seattle we had lot of excursions signed up for cancelled …bummer..spend two days @ sea… waste of time…not a big fan of cruises… think we will chose to fly to our next Alaska trip and rent a car and be able to stop and go as we please.
NP, with them having a wedding in the area.But, they should have communicated it the passengers. That way passengers know what to expect.

I’m 50-50 on the wedding event - mostly, if they paid for the space which they likely did.
Side question - we’re going on our first Celebrity Cruise over New Years with our family to San Juan, Tortola and St Kitts. Is the lack of activities on that particular sea day a common Celebrity thing, or do you feel like it was just that day/cruise/etc?

If it was your wedding and you paid to reserve the venue, you would expect everyone to be "kicked out" too. Seems the games could have been moved to the theatre or the atrium. But you can't crash a wedding.

The ship's foyer isn't that conducive to games. The problem was the Rendezvous lounge was blocked by art. That's where Celebrity really screwed up. And why schedule a wedding on a sea day? And why not do the wedding in a different venue? They could have used one of their private restaurants, like Luminae or Blu for it.
think someone totally forgot to put the “private event” sign up lol … were planning on getting married on a cruise so i get it but it is annoying not really having a place to go to or activities to keep you entertained during a sea day … did y’all atleast get dinner to go?

I think it sucks but also, I totally get it... they probably paid extra for that space for the wedding and stuff too. I would be irritated but it is what it is... and only a few hours!

I mean, it’s just a little corner of the ship, no big deal to me, especially for just an hour or so.
They should’ve just blocked it off and put a sign up saying reserved.
It is just like any other venue...they book private parties. If it went on the entire cruise I would be upset but for one event - for me it wouldn't be a big deal. That is just my thought but I like to just roll with things. Your baby is beautiful. As for the expensive martini price that is on par with a nicer high end bar or restaurant in Boston or Las Vegas where we are from.
I guess if there's a wedding I'd understand. But I heard Alaskan cruise 🛳 like the boat part is boring and for older people. No activities. Norwegian epic was like that too and sooo boring
We took Princess on a 12 day Alaska cruise and it was awesome! Plenty to do and never boring!

Total bullshyte that they allow a private wedding party take over a public space on a sea day. They should have used a smaller area that would be less in demand at that time of day.

That’s pretty standard and comparable to major cities’ mid-higher end bar/restaurants. I don’t mind, especially in a specialty martini bar. Great thing it’s always optional on a cruise 😊.
It’s actually pretty cheap compared to major cities unless you catch happy hour or a dive bar or a special price fixe event. A fancy martini lounge or even high end restaurant with craft cocktails would be over $20 per drink

They dropped the ball. If they're going to throw out what they call "guests" from one big lounge they should at least accommodate them in their other big lounge, the Rendezvous. And I hate that they litter the Rendezvous with art. Ridiculous. The dining room is one refurbishment I find unfortunate. The original one had so much more richness and class. It was darker, yes, but very expensively furnished and stylish. The Infinity and Constellation still have the original ones. The Martini Bar is nice and the drinks are how the cruise lines make money. Are there two different types of music playing in the background?

We find Celebrity boring and we are older. We prefer a much more livelier cruise. Noah is adorable
What does age have to do wtih anything? That's such a BS concept. People have different tastes regardless of age. A lot of "older" people like active cruises and some younger ones like sedate cruises. Celebrity at times in the past was very sedate with stretches of absolutely nothing to do on the ships. I'm not sure that's the case anymore.

Okay, so you guys seem arrogant and entitled. The sky lounge is open for everyone on occasions they have private events held there from weddings to special parties for Elite Plus, and Zenith guest. I'm not sure why are you folks so upset or why this is even news. Come back another time, the rest of the ship is open for business.
