I absolutely hate silent disco or any of that headphone stuff....we miss all the human casual conversations and human connection. I get it if you are outdoor in public streets, church etc, but in a holiday?!!?no no no

@@iloveowls90 yes but the reason behind going into disco etc is to relate to ppl, otherwise with headphones is like being by myself at home.
The fact that you can actually change the music makes it so no one is actually in sync so
..... Disco fever is opposite. Disco music is not meant to be like that. Call it dance, just don't call it club or disco. Would you go to a taylor swift concert with headphones? Of course not, because it takes away the whole experience
This has got to be one of the best ideas I’ve seen yet from all of the cruise vlogging channels we watch. As much as you want to spend time together the obvious benefit for someone to watch the back and forth instant action between two ships is incredibly useful. The next time a non cruiser that asks me what it’s like to be on the ship during a cruise and what ship should they go on I will send them a link to this video. Well done guys !!

You guys did exactly what my friend and I did, except we did each ship together, back to back. We sailed Enchantment of the Seas first and then boarded Ascents maiden voyage after that. Both were wonderful, but VERY DIFFERENT!

I went on Symphony and won't be doing Royal again. I am planning on doing the Ascent in 2024 as it looks MUCH better than Royal, especially in the food department which Royal heavily lacked in on Symphony last year. Definitely do your B2B on Ascent, Royal has gone very downhill in my opinion in the last few years.
We went on Allure in October and I really loved it. My favorite area is the solarium.

Thank you, that was great! I could see that Celebrity Cruise would be more for me. I have cruise with Royal Caribbean, but I was younger. It’s nice to have the two to compare.
Love the side-by-side comparison style. One thing that would be really helpful is if you could include the time you guys are at things just to compare the lines and how busy it is. For example, it seemed like RC was much busier in the buffet, but maybe Griff goes earlier than Alyssa? Or did you both go to breakfast around the same time? Thanks!!!!
Love this video. We finally matched over to Celebrity and booked our first cruise with them, unfortunately it won’t be until next February on Beyond. This video made us so happy to see how great Celebrity looks - gonna be hard to return to Royal after it but this should be a great final year for us on RC if it is true - Icon, Utopia and Wonder is the plan.
How’s the MATCH with Celebrity? We are Diamond with Royal and are definitely ready to book a Celebrity Cruise soon!
I called Celebrity and they matched us to Elite in Captains Club - I had to call the company to do so. Just have your membership number. I can't remember if we booked with Celebrity first creating an account or if we got the account then booked, but the reps were really easy to work with and the match showed up very quickly @@sylviat8461

I think some of Alyssa's food may have looked a little better (I had TOTAL food envy with that lamb wellington!!) but overall, Cullen's cruise won overall best of the best for me! The Infinity balcony was sweeeet, TV in front of the bed and not the couch, food selection choices at the buffet with better people flow management and just overall more enjoyable hangout spaces. Made me wanna go on the Celebrity Ascent for reals!!😮
Fresh grilled Lobster in the buffet was wild to me lol they raised the bar with that one!

We did Allure 18 Dec to 22 Dec. We was on Carnival Liberty from 15 Dec to 18 Dec. We was in the storm and we git diverted. That was our first Carnival time trying Carnival. We normally take RCL. After being on Carnival then jumping on Allure, it was a breathe of fresh air...literally. From the time we got out of the Uber 'til the time we set foot on the ship was about 12 minutes. We did the 5:15 early dining as well. We use the MDR to try meals we never had before. If we liked it then fine. If not then we went up to the Windjammer for Indian food. We tried the cheese plate for dessert one night. It was very subpar. I was surprised. We had 3 cheeses. A hard wedge of cheddar, a semi hard wedge of a mild white cheese, a soft ball of a white cheese that was very pungent, 7 grapes and a tablespoon of fig chutney. The small of cheese was very disrespectful to my tastebuds. If hatred, disappointment and sorrow had a taste, it would be that cheese. I guess my palate is not refined enough for that kind of cheese or we didnt eat it correctly. I ate it plain, with a grape, with the fig chutney, on the crusty bread provided, mixed with the other cheese. I dont know.

Omg. How did you guys decide which ship? I would’ve wanted the Ascent. Or been together for a new ship. Yes Griff & Alyssa. I like the tv right in front of the bed. And angling not the same. Love the Schooner. But the martini 🍸 bar looks like it’s popping. Forgot I saw you on the preview cruise til I saw Fain & Laura just now. Oh the Ascent has the story telling restaurant like Disney. Idk who won. Both looked great. We’ve sailed the Allure. So based on this and many vlogs I’m headed towards the Ascent cuz their bathrooms are bigger and it’s new and fresh. Thanks for sharing guys🤗

I went in thinking they'd be head to head but I think Celebrity edged out the win mainly due to the crowds. I also just finished watching Travel Spree on the ascent and it never looked crazy crowded. Allure was definitely feeling like the megaship she is with the long lines and crowded pool deck. Both fun for sure though! And i still have a soft spot for Allure - my first Oasis class!

This is such a fun way to compare the two! We've only done Royal Caribbean and this makes me really interested and want to try a Celebrity cruise! Were there any kids on the Celebrity cruise? It looked more adult oriented than the royal caribbean one
Great video. I understand it comes down to logistics, but I'd be curious to compare a modern ship from both lines, rather than one new and one old. Too many variables to accurately compare the two.

Nice video! How did y'all decide who gets which ship?. I've been on Beyond twice and Apex twice and all were in Europe 9-days, 10-days, and 12-days in an infinite veranda. I am excited for my 7-day cruise on Ascent this Sunday (59th cruise), and that La Petit Chef looks cool. Although I am boarding my first RCL experience next month a 7-day on new Icon of the Seas, I think you got the better ship Griff. Hopefully Alyssa will have the new ship on your next challenge:). So we're doing Oasis of the Seas for Mardi Gras/SuperBowl/Valentines week Feb 2024 and then booked the brand new Carnival Jubilee for Halloween week Oct 2024 (free casino cruise)...We are almost Diamond Plus with Royal, so I'm freaking out about having zero status with Carnival, but that would be a cool challenge for y'all to do! I've heard the food is better than Royal, but the shows are terrible? Heads up, take your Diamond benefits and get your MGM gold status (I just called them and they set me up over the phone), then screenshot your MGM gold card and "Fun Match" with Carnival's casino program. They are giving us a guarantied balcony on Jubilee for $200 with $200 onboard credit and free drinks for 2 people while playing in the casino (doesn't include taxes/fees and we added my 5 yr old for $169).
