Balance (or stability) is the key to consistent and powerful forehands and backhands and is one of the most important tennis fundamentals.
If you're not stable when you're hitting a forehand or a backhand then your stroke is on an unstable base and you can't control it well nor can you hit with any good power.
Small losses of balance happen all the time to players but they are completely unaware of them and they always blame the stroke for missing the shot rather than balance.
In this video above you'll learn why balance is so important for tennis, all the disadvantages of losing balance and why you're losing in the first place.
Here's a link to a blog post that show you simple leg strength and balance exercises:

Thanks for video. Your exposition is always clear and precise. You are right, when I was a beginner, I struggled with footwork and balance but as my ground strokes, fitness and footwork improved, my balance improved. They all go hand in hand. There are no shortcuts to becoming an advanced player. Hard work is the only way.

    Hello Tomaz!
First, I really appreciate your great support. I absolutely agree with you it is the most important thing to do when everyone playing tennis. I currently doing some fitness such as circuit training, core practice and even pilates and take more time for those of things rather than rally in court. Because it takes me easy to control the ball based on our body balance.

To play good tennis you must have balance, so you need anticipation, footwork, technique, and be fit. People think Federer runs less than Nadal, and that is not true. Great video Tomaz.

This is so true. I've been playing for years and just realized that I jump/jerk too much when I hit the ball (too excited) in the match - self taken videos revealed it. When in practice, I am more calm and hit the ball way better. I'm much more consistent in the matches now by just telling myself to slow down/relax, stay on the ground and hit the ball clean with a full swing at the speed that I can control the ball. This does help bring my shots from my practice to the real matches.

What if we're fatigued from a single (or multiple) full exercise sessions of any kind already (same day or previous day)? Your mobility is diminished even though the fully rested state is a very high level of fitness. I can't get around the court well or even get into an athletic stance to transfer my weight forward then. What should I do if I have to play a match in that physical shape? And skipping the sessions that fatigued you already is not an option.
