Took my sons friend fishing when he was twelve,… Jack arrived with a brand new brolly his dad got him, feeling very proud. Sadly half way through our session it took off across the lake in exactly the same manner …. only difference being it sank… 😱 I was very embarrassed…
Enjoyed your vid, keep up the good work 👍

  • @soultrader57fishingandmusi25

I'd have been more impressed if you'd cast over to your brolly and retrieved it by rod and line! Alls well that ends well!
Good net of stripeys, there's millions of them down at my end, but the pound plus ones seem a rarity, I used get a few lunkers up to 2lb a few years back, maybe its a cycle thing??
    Good vid 😊

@000fishing over the course one winter I had several perch of pound a half plus amongst bags of silvers, that was on the lock pounds at Wheelton. Now they all seem to be 3 or 4 ounces! May try a mepps or wooly bugger fly on a sinking line with a 6lb titanium bite trace as insurance against the inevitable Jacks! 👍

It was _"brolly good to be able to get it back."_ 8-))...
Having navigated countless miles on our inland waters over numerous decades from the Severn to the Trent and to the Thames and all those in between, that L&L canal looks nice. It has that dark, greeny, fishy look to it. A bit like the Grand Union Canal.
Oh! I'd also suggest staking your brolly next time you go out too ;-))...

Great entertaining video. I don't know if you were using the same set-up for perch and bream? If so I find that smaller hooks work better on bream, size 18 or smaller even in clear water. Happy fishing. 👍

  • @brandsthatcreatelitter1648

I don’t get it, why didn’t you just cast your float into the brolly and hook it. I lost a hat that was on the bottom, 20m downstream from where i had jumped in to get it out of the reeds. Hook it straight away. Next time you need to retrieve something, just use the perfectly suited tool you already have, your rod and hook🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤣♥️♥️♥️

Just subscribed, i usually fish fir pike but recently just bought a couple of match rods for summer fishing. Ive found it pretty tough tbh. Just the odd roach or perch here and there. Ive struggled to attract fish into my swim even when i'm using groundbait and loose feeding maggots. I'll definitely be trying chopped worm on my next outing. Loads of scent and movement in the swim.
