In my opinion Hotel Combermere is one of the best option to stay in Shimla, it has the best location as it is central point both at the NH road (lift parking) and at the mall road (thru their own lift), food is good, view frm its terrace is excellent, service is good ...it is expensive though not as expensive as its bigger brother Marina. Embassy has been our all time favorite for its soups,cakes and small meals along with its softy,slush and brownies....dnt miss the conversations with the owner (who has an army background)....other favourite cafe shimla times is just next door at Hotel Willow Banks...their restrau is also good. I wld like to mention we always ignored Jashan since the past few decades ( i dnt knw how old is the outlet) but we checked it during our last visit and found out tht their food is also good ....there r many other outlets which sld not b missed like Nalini, Trishul Bakers ( u already mentioned krishna)....hey bro so wat happened to Baljees ...they hav shifted to some other place or closed the place permanently after they lost the case in the court.

Everything is so orange. It used to be beautiful elegant green while we were growing up. We had to walk everywhere. Walk 6kms one way to sanjauli college and back to boileauganj and totu etc.
