I visited some of the oldest food joints which are very famous among locals, plus some of the new ones selling Himachali traditional food in Shimla mall road..

Day 1
1. Sita Ram & Son: About 70 year old shop famous located at 10 min distance from Mall road.
Chana Luchi - Rs 40

2. Himachali Rasoi: This shop opened about 3 years back, one of the few food joints in shimla selling Himachali food.

3. Indian Coffee House : Old and famous coffee shop, serves snacks and coffee. This place is a landmark for variety of reasons.

4. Trishool Bakers : Very famous bakery in Shimla, established 1959.

Day 2
5. Jakhoo Temple: When Hanuman ji was going to Himalya’s for sanjeevani booti, he stopped at this hill for rest, since these its been ages that this temple is popular.
This temple 4 km from shimla, Can also use trolley at Rs. 250 per person
6. Mehru’s sweets: Famous for pure ghee sweets, i was also told that there jalebi and dooh is popular but when i visited there could not find it. Noticed chaat there - had bhalla papdi there.

7. Nathuram Lachhman Das: This is also a very old shop famous for sweets made with desi ghee. I was looking for jalebi and milk and found it here at this shop.
This milk with jalebi is available here till 7.30 pm.

Day 3
8. Hotel White: Sharing information about the hotel where i stayed in Shimla. I missed mentioning in the video, that this hotel does not have restaurant. If you need tea or snacks they make it available but from morning 7.30 am to evening 9 pm only.

9. Indian Institute Of Advanced Study: During British time this place was called as summer capital of Viceroy, later was convered as Rashtrapati Bhavan and now its Indian institute of foreign trade.
Lot of areas here is not open for public access, still viewers should visit this and enjoy the architecture.
During British time, this place was summer residence of viceroy of India. Later it became Rashtrapati Bhavan and it is known as Indian Institute Of Advanced Study.

10. Mehru’s Sweets: I enjoyed Poori chole here in breakfast. This place is about 6 kms from shimla mall road.

11. Sankat Mochan Temple: This temple of Hanuman ji has been built by Baba Neem karori ji Maharaj..

Dear Mr. Bali, i would like to add something about Himachali Rasoi, which since i belong to Shimla can add..this is ONLY PLACE in Shimla or rather HP serving authentic Himachali Food and in HP best and tastiest food is Dham prepared for wedding feasts in Kangra Distt and Mandi Distts. Of HP. Being frequent visitor to Himachali Rasoi, i always appreciate their fresh cooked food prepared fresh every day...food is tasty and considering all, quite inexpensive being ₹230 For all one can eat...next time in H.R.also try Siddus, a savoury and Sweet dish prepared by steaming and served with Desi Ghee..Just delicious...posting my views for clarity.

Indian Coffee House standard menu is coffee and vegetable Cutlet. It was a part of the British Raj menu . There are very few ICH left in India. The white uniforms with the Fan Pagdi the waiters most of them were from Kerala. Nathan Sekhar Sydney Australia. Good presentation.
Feels so great to have personally explored all the above places while my four years stay in Himachal. Thankyou for such a beautiful flashback.

Well i have visted shimla twice
I stayed in hotel mayur first which was not good but location was very good.
But recently when i visted i stayed in hotel east bourne ...and i was most fabulous hotelmof shimla ..
Toooooo good.
We did river rafting at satluj which was mind blowing experience , we did that with our 4 years old daughter so it was quite safe and for familes.
It was not at all like rafting at hrishikesh .
. That rafting was like just boating in river in rafting style, quite safe for family with kids.
We had gone advance study by walk it was fabulous too.
Narkanda , kufri was also good and hourse and pony ride is still rememberable..
One thing i like to ask...
Was that japensese pastry non veg or veg...
Becoz im vagan ... Cannot eat everything.
And then i put this in my next trip to shimla ...

Why didn’t you cover the other restaurants in Shimla too as you have quite a few on mall road & scandal point & on the ridge.
you are right, i planned this complete trip for 9 days.. more is on the way, during this journey i wanted to cover shimla , Naldehra, kufir, Fagu, Tattapani and Narkanda, you know stiching all this consumes lot of time.....
i wis if i could do lot more on mall road but any ways in this visit i wanted to keep this tour more of Himachali food which was not available on mall road...
only 2 spots - Himachal rasoi and HHH these are the only 2 places in Mall road where you get Himachali food...
