    I read the comments before I saw the video and thought everyone was being over dramatic about the kids room. They were not. The two bunks are cool but that third for the little girl-it doesn’t look safe.

    It's 2 bunks, not 3. I wouldn't call a mattress on the floor a bunkbed.

      Lord baal I was so confused. I just saw the two bunks...I didn't even see the mattress on the floor. Thanks for clearing my confusion. Now I see it. True, it's not a true bunk, but the point is, it sleeps all of her kids on separate mattresses 👍

      I agree, I see two bunks. The little kid sleeps on the floor underneath the bottom bunk. The mother has no clue and thinks that this is legit three bunks. Nope. If they were designed as three bunks then all three would have been allocated the same space. The two bunks do have the same space, the little kids is sleeping under the bottom bunk - that area was designed for storage.

      I remember being a kid and loving small spaces! Creeping under the dining room cabinet and falling asleep. I loved it, it was an adventure this is not long term they are building their own home without creating more debt. Give them a break. Guaranteed more often then not the kids sleep in Mom and Dads room my kids did when they were little. Love what they are doing! Not judging! Beautiful job!

      It may look like 2 bunks n a bed on the floor but in all actuality, this is how some of them come. It is considered 3 "bunks" . Obviously these kids are very very happy n well adjusted. Why do you think they have to have a home n bedroom to be normal. I think this is awesome n I think it's a great way for a family to live. They know the value of family. The value is Not having things it's n family. They def have their priorities straight. We could All learn from them.

  • @elliemiller4634
    @elliemiller4634 Před 6 lety +728

    So you get a coffee station, a huge (for a tiny house) bedroom, and a lot of storage for yourself and two of your kids sleep on the smallest of small beds with one bin for all their belongings and a third child sleeping under a bed.

    • @msneo8839
      @msneo8839 Před 6 lety +143

      Ellie Miller OMG yessss :( that was so selfish. I feel so bad for the kid. This RV is good enough for a single person/couple only.

    • @mutyabuena5044
      @mutyabuena5044 Před 6 lety +45

      The coffee station is tiny, it wouldn't make a lot of difference. Adults need more storage because they *keep* stuff; kids are growing all the time and losing clothes and shoes, they don't need to own a shit ton of crap and the parents could keep some of their stuff in their bedroom. And bedrooms are for sleeping and having sex in, children only do the sleeping bit and are small, so it makes sense their sleeping area is not as big as the parents'. THAT said I would never shove five family members in a tiny house, mostly because I don't want people up my face all the time.

    • @mutyabuena5044
      @mutyabuena5044 Před 6 lety +28

      So you'd think it would be better to give a tiny child a huge bedroom and make the parents sleep in the cupboard? Kids are small, they don't own much shit or need a lot of space; the common areas and outside space are available and the parents need space for storage and privacy. But I agree, tiny houses shouldn't be for big families as the children will grow and need more space, also imagine never having a moment alone to yourself.

      As for as needing space to run around, it looked to me like they had plenty of room outside and probably spent a lot of time outside from they way it was all put together. .I think they did a good job. ..

      Have you ever had kids, do you know anything about kids, ever see the movie A Christmas Story (Randy underneath the kitchen sink with the door closed)! Most little kids love tiny spaces like this, because of their size the world around them can seem awfully BIG. I remember when I was a kid my favorite place to hang out was behind a recliner that sat in the corner of a room, I'd take a pillow and some blankets and make a little fort back there. My kids did much the same. They said in the video this was only a temporary living space.

    • @cocokai9661
      @cocokai9661 Před 6 lety +26

      But Diane, there's a huge difference between having a little hide out and sleeping, night after night, in an airless, dusty, little cave. It's not healthy to not have air flow. It's not healthy to sleep at ground level do to dust and dirt and allergens. That poor kid could end up with breathing problems as a result. So yeah, having a hide out when you're a kid is fine, but having to live in a closet is usually termed child abuse (have you ever heard of the kids parents keep in closets, guess if you were on the jury you'd talk about how kids LOVE that!).

    the parents clearly sacrificed their wants for their children's needs lol. they were actually proud of the idea that they minimized their children's toys and stimulation to that extent and that their backpacks had to be kept outside. they have a huge bedroom while their daughter basically sleeps in a coffin. you can argue that they love it or whatever, but i doubt the kids would actively choose to live there in that cramped space if given the choice between that and a small bedroom or even a normal size bunk bed lmao. a lot of tiny house/bus parents put so much effort into allocating large, colorful spaces for their kids to play in and enjoy. these parents clearly prioritized this clean aesthetic and shoved their kids into the corner and almost tries to hide them away. why even have children at that point?

      Sarah Frick - I m a mother. I ll bet those kids end up in the parents bed regularly. Also, they might play on that big bed during the day. So much negativity. One thing - I ll bet they get plenty of attention from each other and their parents in that small place. No place to go. That s a good thing.

My husband and I live in our 5th wheel camper that is far more spacious than this and I can't imagine even 1 more person in here with us, especially a child. I'd throw in the towel. It's *just enough space for us and our stuff, I don't think it's fair to kids to live in an RV honestly. You'd have to be going behind them picking up constantly to be able to move in there (or I guess just not let them have any stuff or toys lol). Then there's privacy, for tweens and the adults - your kids do not want to hear grown up time (or feel it when the trailer shakes lol). Uncomfortable.

    The fact they're stationary is a big bonus in booth decor (furniture & materials) & the fact they have guaranteed outdoor space to put "extras" (like that big shoe storage box & extra living space). Very well done.

    This layout is awful for the children. I can’t believe how much room the parents have, while the one daughter is sleeping in a dark, coffin like bed- not to mention they don’t have any storage. She says she doesn’t jam-pack everything... but she sure does it do her children. It seems selfish.

    I hate the tiny house and RV living fad when it involves multiple children!!! To go to all of that effort for an old RV, you could have at least built a small house with a proper sized bedroom for those poor kids.

    Really cool design for an RV. Everything look fantastic except for the third kid, sleeping under the bed, not to healthy and really near of the bathroom, probably they can fix an easy space with a hanging hammock, easy to put away and great for the little princess of the house. The video make over is nice, but I think her voice is way louder, or maybe the microphone is superb! Great control of the cámara as usual! Thank you for the videos and the inspiration!!

    Should have let the two boys have that room, and create another smaller room with curtains in the living room. Especially if she dont want it to look enclosed.
    Putting their Bed towards one wall, could have created space for a toilet. Then they could take out the current bathroom to make a bed for their daughter

    She did a beautiful job. I can’t even tell it’s an RV. But it looks like the home of a single young woman. Even though the kids were peeking out, there’s really no sign of children and a husband living in that home. Not from this presentation. No toys? Yet there’s a Pinterest coffee bar? They need a chest coffee table with some toys inside.

  • @heucatia

    I get claustrophobia just looking at where they made that girl sleep. Can't believe she made her child sleep on the floor, in what practically looks like a closed in boxed up compartment that is placed right next to a bathroom with a compost toilet. That is seriously not acceptable, not even temporarily. Might as well leave the girl with her grandparents, or something, while building the big house _if she can't accommodate all her children properly. The girl looked embarrassed in front of the cameras that-that was her spot, and rightly so. No child should be made to sleep in there, even for a night. No one is more all about less is more and sustainable living than I am, but this tiny house shit is getting out of control. Tiny houses are for singles or if anything for couples, not for entire families, and even less families of 5 _and no not even temporarily, if that means that you are going to have to make your child sleep in what looks like a coffin for that time. I knew that people's greed would eventually subvert the concept. I was just waiting for that to happen, and there! If tiny sustainable living is going to be subverted so you don't provide your children with proper living conditions, and so you can make them sleep in coffins, so you can save up a pretty penny, then social services are going to have to be on it! This is a situation that I would personally denounce. As always human beings taking it too far for an extra dollar! Why have kids at all, if you're going to push/hide them into a corner like that, and prefer to have a stupid ''coffee station'' and a spacious master bedroom in a tiny house, to accommodating your own children and their things decently?! I feel like a lot of people just have kids because they are allergic to birth control, and to show the world that they can breed. Well guess what, any animal can breed _ and a zoo monkey has more space and air to breath than your daughter had for months.

    I’m not sure why so many people are complaining about the kids’ sleeping area. I never lived in a camper but we used to camp for months every year when I was a kid and I loooved camper bunks. There was something so cozy about having your own little nook to sleep in. I wouldn’t even mind sleeping in a little nook now as an adult. It’s just a bed. As long as they have plenty of time and space to play during the day then that’s all that’s necessary. I absolutely adore this RV and I think you’re giving your children a wonderful life 😁👍🏻

    We just came back from an RV show today in Charlotte, NC and I told my daughter I can visualize living in one of the RV’s full time stationed on a piece of property. They have so much room! Even with 3 young ones, ours are almost all out the home, I can see how practical it can be.💫
