what that exists?! OH SHIT!
You've heard the incredible story of "Let Me Solo Her", but I bet you've never heard of "Let Me Parry Her" until now. Absolutely flawless
made even more iconic by the fact that her second phase is skipped by ripostes
Hold still until you see let her solo me
@@feaweninglorin6035what most players probably experience
@@feaweninglorin6035 💀💀💀
FYI, executioner's axe might do slightly more damage against larger enemy, when being riposted on, the dagger will do two hits instead of one.
I'm not 100% sure what the best crit build is, but all I did was look up a reddit thread and followed the suggestions there.
with the blue dancer charm, Miséricorde is probably better
So the crit stat is pretty weird every 10 points above 100 is +100% crit damage.
So executioners axe with 115 crit deals +250% crit and Misericorde with 140 crit deals +500% crit
This is even better on weapons with split damage which can be further buffed with talismans/spells stacked on top of the crit damage multiplier.
Essentially meaning the higher multiplier in most cases will deal more damage than the higher base physical damage.
@@Fistminer Where and how did you get this information?
In DS3, weapons had a visible crit multiplier and an additional hidden crit multiplier, it could still be the same
I love how during second Loretta fight he said he didn't think Carian Retaliation had frames similar to the buckler... little did he know Carian Retaliation has the most active parry frames on all shield
Doesn't the golden parry ash of war have the most active frames out of the medium shields?
@@MoltenBoii it shares the exact same frames as Carian Retaliation on all shields, but Golden Parry requires FP for even attempting a parry, while CR only uses FP when the swords are summoned
@@MoltenBoii To add on to what beatdeath said, Golden Parry has the same number of parry frames with a different hitbox which is stretched out horizontally in front of the player which makes it harder to parry vertical swings while carian retaliation has a hitbox that's basically just a wall in front of the player, I don't know if the hitbox is larger than a normal parry hitbox or not, though it does feel as such.
It's the same as buckler actually
@@Neil_Manta incorrect
just wrong
I love that Radagon does a grab in response as if he gets kind of annoyed that you parried him.
Radagon: "HAHA THIS IS MY GREATEST SWING, TAKE IT IF YOU CAN!"
Bushy: parries it
Radagon: "this mf"

honestly man, I've been watching your videos for 2 or 3 weeks now, and this style of editing is much better than it used to be. the timer to give context for how long you've been playing is good, and the clips of you running around collecting, travelling and giving important info on items and strats makes them 1000% more enjoyable
At 15:08, exactly what all the bosses say as the character dodges, rolls, jumps and teleports a goat onto the arena every second of the battle.
Dragons watching their fire pass right through me because I'm slowly dismounting a horse. "These hitboxes don't make any fucking sense!"
Your comment made this scene so much more hilarious
Normally I don't go through comments before watching a video, but I am glad I did this time lmao
"Just *t h r o u g h* him" hahaha
The way dragonic tree sentinel just wanted to shoot fire as if he was challanging you LOL.
I feel like a lot of challenge runs miss the marks slightly by not really changing the game outside of using specific webs, ashes, etc. But I like ones like this that fundamentally change the way you have to play and force you to relearn boss rotations and stuff to fit things in. But ones like this I feel are really worth watching
Bushy: "Okay, I should be able to parry Morgott"
*proceeds to not parry him three times in a row*
Morgott: "Put these foolish ambitions to rest"
for the people that want to parry malenia. i can give a bit of a tip the only parriable attacks are the ones where's shes on the ground, execpt for the one that lunges her up in the air and the combos that start with her airborne
You mean water fowl dance?
@@partobakhtiary7954 she also has the charged attack that sends her up in the air that is followed up by a slam.
Water fowl dance is parryable tho.
@@MisterPudd only player waterfowl not malenia
@@MisterPudd the weapon art version yes. not the boss version tho
I always love the little bits of flexibility you add when the challenge isn't possible on a given boss for whatever reason, you always find good compromises to allow the run to continue while keeping in the spirit
I'm also learning I should really learn how to use Parry
@juscbhbhuvsdsdvbhjwsdv3843well..it got nerfed so..
One question:
Can you parry the fireball of the fire giant with carian retalliation?
This way it maybe wouldve benn possible.
insane run anyways well played
I doubt the fireball mine would work, but the Giants Flame thrown fireball should've worked.
I mean someone did a parry on a bomb and it didn’t leave the effect
you can't fire the fireball but you can parry the fire blasts (though you will eat the second blast to the face)
Yes
Would Thops’ Barrier make it go around you?
I think it’s so funny looking back at these early challenge runs now that they’ll all like “I BEAT ELDEN RING WHILE BLINDFOLDED AND BEING BEAT UP BY MIYAZAKI HIMSELF”
Gotta love the cut for morgott where 2 hours pass and all his armor gets taken off
12:50 - "and, in other news, a strange naked man with a dinner plate and a cross has killed the king. "
edit: also, dang, I thought I was decent at parrying, but this is just amazing skill on display.
This made me laugh 💀
Not going to lie, learning to parry bosses always made me feel godlike in Souls games.
Why? You can't parry most of them
The decision to use Redmanes for the unparryable bosses was classy and phenomenally executed. 10/10
And would be impossible after 1.08
@@reaperofthings Really? Thats why it sux now?
@@Trondor2 they reduced the poise damage drastically, from 40 to 10. Flame of the Redmanes may as well be the weaker version of Flaming Strike now without the follow up.
Actually, the normal parry frames on Carian Retaliation on ANY shield start just as early as Buckler Parry and last three frames longer
surprisingly good considering it's free to parry not a spell
Wait so if I put that ash on an shield it’s gonna be as good as the buckler? Even the 100% block ones?
@@James-kv3ll YEP, though if you magic infuse it it'll lower the non magic block types and stability a little. Medium shields and small shields both get the super parry frames on carian retaliation
@@grncookie1825 this also applies to golden parry
@@ItsVenti I believe it also ALSO applies to storm wall too
Wait what? It's a better parry than Buckler Parry? Dude that makes no sense :(.
RIP Flame of Redmanes. Your star burned bright until Miyazaka decided we can't have nice things.
I'm french and i want to say you help me to improve my english because your way of talk is very understandable for me and thx and btw you're quite strong on elden ring
I'd say for non-parryable enemies the exception should be not flame of the redmanes, but guard counters, which fits to the theme and also stance breaks and thus provides riposte.
Also there are parryable (and stance breakable in general) but not ripostable enemies (tree sentinels, one of which is mandatory), and with these restrictions parrying them is extremely cool and is not useful at all, so only guard counters can help.
Also watched Radahn's fight. Dude. Assassin's daggers are a thing.
the rationale was flame of the redmanes is the most stance damage to the least damage done. IMO parries and guard counters are intended for completely different builds. parries are for crit focused faster builds and guard counters are for heavy greatshields, that's why I didn't do that.
@@Bushy I was just asking myself why Flame of the redmanes is a challenge - I used it for my best build once. Then I saw Radahn's fight, yeah, impossible for me to play that with no health flasks and no summons - very impressive. But it still could be much easier for you if you remembered assassin's dagger talismans are a thing.
@@Bushy Awesome rest of the video, it's crazy how you survive for minutes with no hp unflasked.
guard counter only challenge when
Still impossible for at least fire giant maybe more
Hope you’re still sane after this run, it was extremely impressive. Keep up the great work, and I’m sure you’ll have the success you deserve!
Really enjoying these challenge runs bro keep it up💯
I’m sure there’s a million comments about it already but yes, you can parry the first part of Morgotts hammer and sword sweep(?) attack. Not only is it easy once you know how but it’s the coolest attack to parry in my opinion
Thanks for the video. Love the ambition of this challenge. I did a similar run myself, albeit on NG+2 so there was less punishment involved.
I just feel like ... if Fromsoft had given parrying more love, this would've been more of a "parry+repost" run than a "flame of the Redmanes" run 😄 Although, it is significantly more applicable here than any other Dark Souls game.
p.s. Oh, 11:25 I don't know if you got to test it live, but yes, you can parry the first part of that attack beautifully.
Your fast pacing is very engaging. This is one of my favourite Elden Ring channels.
Amazing run. If you ever decide to revisit this type of run for one reason or another, might I suggest quickly grabbing the cerulean and crimson dagger talismans? It’s a quick black knife assassin fight and very worth getting them as the crimson one heals with riposte and the cerulean one gives you fp. With using flame of the redmane, the extra tiny bit of fp regen would be a little helpful
6 minutes in and the answer to the title is a resounding: "No" :P
Imagine just standing there in your boss room doing whatever then you see a naked man with a shield and a dagger and he starts parrying every hit you make and stabs you
Great content, great video ideas, great commentary, you DESERVE more subs my man, SERIOUSLY. Have a good day/night!
this is insanely wel done, i struggle horribly with parries in both the dark souls series and in elden ring so seeing this is like magic. In almost every other game that has a parry system in it, i'm a total boss, but the souls likes.. i just cant get the hang of it
You should do a tip and trick video with all the knowledge u have on the game it would be a banger!
That would be at the very top of my list for a parry only run. Getting a successful parry and riposte is one of the most satisfying feelings. I just beat the dual Crucible Knight's in Auriza Hero's Grave and, even though it took a long time because screw that BS fight, it was one of my satisfying accomplishments across the entire series.
"Should be able to parry Morgott"
*whiffs parry*
*whiffs parry*
*whiffs parry*
*whiffs roll*
*dies*
fucking had me DYING
Really like how you handled all the hurdles on this run. Nice job!
The parry jump cuts on Margitt were so satisfyting. Love the editing.
One thing I have learned from this run is that Radagon actually has a better sense of fighting than Malenia, in Malenia when you consistently parry her she doesnt immediately do some crazy unblockable and hard to dodge moveset that insta kills you while Radagon immediately punishes you with a guaranteed instakill move if you get caught if you parry him once or twice.
Radagon really just says "Oh yeah? You wanna parry me you little bitch!" And just yeets you lol
malenia keeps fighting the same whatever you do
Im pretty sure radagon adapts to what you do
if you just spam arrows im pretty sure he starts fucking catching them midair
and if you just do the same types of attacks he'll teleport away and back to punish you for spamming
@Bill Clinton Enjoyer You CAN tank waterfowl dance. It just requires near/max vigor and bull-goat armor (and even then, you nearly die)
@awhellnah__astel's grab
you’re so good at this game 😂 another great vid my man
assasins blue dagger would've probably helped immensly in terms of quality of life and flasks.
I also for some reason made this run and was also on the verge of insanity against fire giant, malenia whilest somewhat statisfactory when i finally did it still left a bad impression on me jus because i realized jus thow weak ripostes and parries are.
Still the strongest out of all the soulsbourne games, you can barely parry any boss in the previous games (maybe except bloodbourne) here you can at least parry them
@@miklosszabo4551 it doesn’t matter if you can parry them when the attack feels so weak and pointless. Getting a stagger and riposte in the earlier games was a fucking God send. My first time killing midir was based solely off of that. But in this game a riposte will barely do anything to them besides take away a small chunk of their health. Ripostes suck ass in this game
@@gibraltar2843 you can riposte midir literally once no matter how hard you try and only if you hit his head constantly, how is a kill solely based on 1 riposte :D
@@miklosszabo4551 for comparison you need to parry malenia 3 times!!, also tanking a whole lot of stamina if you miss, and you get about 2-3k riposte damage with misericorde and dagger talisman, even golden vow and stuffs.
Add to that switching weapon and doing a heavy attack on wakeup. about 1 k damage.
(damage numbers may vary)
Even if they were slightly higher, just using a weapon art like rivers of blood you get about 4 k damage without bleed procc and you don't need to parry her 3 times just role once.
The fact that a lot of bosses are parryable is great, but the risk vs reward is just terrible.
Now if I didn't have to parry 3 times to get one measly riposte that would maybe be more worth.
@@Goondius my ripostes one shot bosses. You are just playing the wrong game 😂
the strat on the Draconic Tree Sentinel was just glorious
as was Morgott.
and everything, really.
also; i think i noticed Fire Giant's armpit ear at exactly the same time as you, i was just contorting my face in horror when you said it
Blud worded this like an essay
i can confirm, the foolish ambitions were indeed put to rest
Can’t you parry maliketh in his second phase with the blasphemous claw you get right next to the boss room
yeah but as he said, its not a true repost and its really just a stun. Its really fun to use, but he would've had to kill rykard to obtain it which would be even more impossible
@@noahbennett2254 oh not a "true riposte" you mean like flame of red mane or like basic attacks on mounted enemies when ripostes aren't possible or like using carian retaliation or like basic attacks on fire giant or like using critical hits when ripostes aren't possible?
Killing rykard isn't any more impossible than killing fire giant. At least Rykard can be staggered to get a critical.
@@Tom_Het as bushy said in the video the choice was to do a real parry with no riposte , or a real riposte with no parry. He chose to use a real riposte with no parry (not sure why but maybe because he already used this on other bosses in the challenge so it wouldn't be like making another exception?)
Parrying a boss that is several times bigger that you is satisfying
Radagon is literally
"Parry *THIS* you filthy..."
I like the way you approach this challenge
Keep it up!!
I’ve got an idea: can you beat Elden ring with only the starting equipment?
The rules are as follows:
-any armor or weapons you have when you start the game can not be unequipped. They have to stay on for the entire game.
-you can augment your gear (upgrading with smithing stones, ashes of war, etc) as long as you don’t turn the weapon into another weapon
-Get as many remembrances as you can
Optional rules:
-No talismans
-Flasks as only consumables
-If you take fire damage you have to restart the run (unless you want pain then I suggest you don’t do this one)
Enjoy pain!
Edit: no samurai. Use any other class.
What’s the idea behind the fire rule? Just more pain?
@@kubhfbebr630 pretty much, I have no idea why I made that a rule
What do you mean “making a new weapon”? Isn’t that the point of upgrading it?
And idk making a run difficult for reasons unrelated doesn’t make a ton of sense
That really would not be bad unless you ban samurai. Uchigatana leveled appropriately with either frost or blood depending on the boss is like a top 5 weapon.
@@gibraltar2843 I was thinking that some weapons had the ability to be turned into new weapons outright but if that’s not the case then you can just ignore that
Your content is so entertaining please don’t stop 🙃
As a strength+parry main, this brings me a lot of joy. I parry every single parryable boss, including Malenia and Maliketh (with blasphemous claw)
This is incredible! Nice work!

WHERES GOLDFREY FIGHT?
there is no reason to use buckler parry once you have access to carion retaliation. it is strictly better in every scenario
Buckler parry has a faster windup.
@@waffleninja5353 Actually, the buckler has the same windup as carion, and carion also has more active frames.

I got 2 ideas. 1: elden ring where every attack from enemies do every status effect. 2: elden ring with no equipment. No horse, armor, talismans, weapons, flasks, anything.
This was the most satisfying run to watch.
Deine Video Ideen sind echt geil 👍
Would be cool if you used golden parry because it has a longer range of parry, its fast and it break the poise instantly ( i know scarabs cant be parried but if you used the normal dagger attack in the fire giant because he cant be riposted maybe ins't break the rules killing the scarab that way )
I love the part you parry the godskin Noble, so satisfying hehe.
I just finished this challenge for myself, and it was a blast! I finished at level 101 and it took 30 hours
Honestly I'm not sure why they didn't just make all staggerable enemies parryable in this game considering they added in multi-parry requirements and glowing crit locations.
Explain to me how the hell you would parry something like the fire giant or just a hand
@@rotatorebato Fire Giant would probably be the only exception, but you could parry his spells anyway. Not sure why you wouldn't be able to parry a hand though. They're all just attacks with the fingers.
@@tank19768 i wouldnt count parrying spells because they dont lead into a riposte.

the editing for this is amazing, keep up the good work !
Super impressive again!
I really wish there was a strict logic to what attacks are parriable like depending on damage type and weapon class.
Such as slash is always parriable, thrust is parriable on everything except thrusting swords, strike is parriable on axes but not hammers etc
I'm not saying the above would be the best way to do it just an example of what I meant by strict logic.
I love the absolute commitment with this man he’s faught Melinia he know how to dodge every move

This run is nearly 1.5 years old and you learned so much since then.
I wonder what a run would look like nowadays
Flame of the Redmanes looks like it's so good.
Apparently it scales off of strength as well, since it's a "fire" ash, not a "flame art" one. So you could run a Redmane Knight cosplay with pure strength.
Sadly the Knight's Greatsword is hot dukey. I'll have to wait for a buff before I do a playthrough, as I don't consider myself gud yet.
The cerulean and crimson daggers just sitting there not being used in the corner, despite being practically made for this run.
