Back in the day, I though Orient was a lesser brand, but many of these these looks surprisingly beautiful and well built. Thanks for sharing! Btw. I think a few watches had seconds/date swap options, e.g. the Seiko G757 series which also displays DATE right above it when in that mode. See czcams.com/video/Q0WzwTHntMc/video.htmlm2s
@@VintageDigitalWatches I have the watch at 05:43. It appears to be in pristine condition yet when I put a new battery in, there's absolutely nothing. Is there some reset procedure for this particular model?
I knew Orient as a maker of good affordable mechanical watches, but, before recently seeing some videos on this channel and Illuminating Watches, I had never heard of their quartz watches. Fascinating stuff!
As a collector I never knew about Orient digital watches until watching your wonderful video (There is always something new to discover with collecting ! Which is one of the exciting things for me). Your channel is very addictive. Now, what video next ???
Gracias.

Another fantastic video. Well i have only 3 orient here, the message orient also. I prefer the early 70's orient digitals with ceramic board. I think the best orient period was from 1974 to 1977 even if the message one is an amazing watch (dot Matrix, loud alarm and messages).
I own an Orient 641112-40 (Module 64101) with a corroded and botched battery compartment. It has the same case and face as your G641103-40 (at 4:26) but a different bracelet. Do you know if the modules 64100 , 64101 and 64111 are interchangeable? At least they seem to look similar. As always very informative content and I'm looking forward for the next video.
Time Art Piece Yes the modules are interchangeable, all watches with serial number starting 641 can have their modules interchanged, module is identical for all.
Hi, I own an Orient Music Alarm model IT 70100 LP that is notas working and there's little information on the net about it. Do you know how to get a usar manual or any info with the specs? Thanks in advance and greetings from Argentina.
have an Orient sound monitor digital watch. or do you call it a double face. how rare the watch is. thanks for the answer in advance. greetings from Finland😊
I am asking for information... I have a digital watch orient type VWAA-COCS... when did production start and when did it end... I can't find the information... Thank you Jano SLOVAKIA for the answer..
No nothing special just i general :) The first series cal.0*** are not bigger in size but they are built like tanks in solid SST and usually have a crown to set the time as with an ordinary analogue Watch. I have a 0139 and 0439 on the way. Seiko started production of those in 1974 and made them until about 1982 I Think and there is about 17 different calibers. Regarding the "Extra Fine" cal.F*** series, I am currently waiting for a F441 but can't find almost any info about them. They are very thin watches and were made between 1977 and 1982 and the cal F441 was the last caliber of 11 different models. The F441 was only produced between 1981 and 1982. I saw that you gave away a First Series Seiko, damn that I missed it, I would really liked to have it :D
I am also getting into late 70ies LCDs and probably will look into other brands, thus far my comfort zone were the mid 80ies. Don't worry, there will be other giveaways :)
Vintage Digital Watches and btw would it be an idea to make a program that goes through the batteri used as i think there is people outthere who needs the info ( like me 😁)to get their old gems up and running again
@@thegrassyknoll7792 well there are already charts online and websites that do this but they usually work for more common digital watches. One of theme is batterybob. Surely your orient is not on any chart as it is rare.
Hi !, Since I saw another video of yours, I`ve taken a look to the Orient`s. In Argentina I don`t see much of them. I`ve found one online, but I can not get any information at all. Model is: Y615137-40 Below it says "LP" Seems quite well in the pictures. Can you help me with any information? Can I share you the pictures of the seller?
Well, they still produce LCD watches, just not using their own name. Here in Brazil they have a factory and have at least two sub brands that produce LCD watches. Have a look below: xgamesrelogios.com.br lincerelogios.com.br
I actually got one Orient digital watch, a strange solar powered model (New old stock in incredibly good condition!). But here's the thing, I tried searching the reference number online: I678202-40 and there's very little information on when it was made other than it was from the 80s. Most of the page hits were in Japanese, but it is indeed the watch. The build quality of the case is great, the bracelet can be said to be a bit janky but not as bad as some Casio bracelets. This is my first Orient digital and most probably won't be the last, they're really interesting and have a different aesthetic from Seikos! I wonder if you've encountered one of these I678202-40 models and what do you think of them? Included is the link of one of the rare instances I found this online: www.jauce.com/auction/t575018943
How on earth you say that Orient calculator watch is best looking calculator watch ever. Orient have amazing skill to make all products look like a cheap junk. Opinions, sure, but still...

I'll pin this post as the information about the Seiko G757 is interesting. Thanks!

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING collection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video, you’ve sold the idea to me, I want one of those early chunky ones!
Love your collection !
Do get one Michael, they are worth it.

Thanks for putting the info out there. I am going to be on the lookout for one of those 64100
What a fantastic video! You ha e a new fan! These watches are absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you for the nice comment, and welcome!
This is how one collects watches. Most people think that in order to collect watches they all have to be high end brand names
Just found this channel, nice collection 👍
Thank you!

Awesome collection. I have been searching for the 64100 with the black case and gold faceplate but no luck. Any tips on where to find these? Thanks!
Nice collection, do you know the k09705? thanks
Is there a manual for the music alarm watch? I don't really understand how to set the time.

so interesting, great video again. I am designing a 1970s inspired "digital watch" (not a smartwatch). Technology partner recommendations are welcome.

Nowadays only casio produce this type of digital watches but on plastic casing
Well they just released a simple one with metal body but beyond 100 EUR so not quite what I expected.
