Bentley was my favourite player while at Spurs and I was sad to see him retire early; but it's good because he's looked so happy since he hung up his boots.
He seems like such a standard normal guy, great interview. We need Bentley as a pundit more.
Always had time for David Bentley, seems a top guy. Probably didn't have the heart or desire to match his undoubted talent to fully make it to the top, and fell out of love with the game as he's stated in other interviews.
i think we sometimes forget footballers are people too, and much like ourselves want different careers and want to explore other avenues.
David seems happy, and in his case, i guess football was not the be all and end all for him in life, and good luck to him.
Happens to a lot of players when they are earning way too much, far too soon. Players tipped to be the next big thing like he was, sadly they don’t always live up to the hype. Had a decent enough career mind.

He was a decent player in his day. I remember when he was hyped up to be the next David Beckham.
He was pretty good, maybe just lacked hard work? I dont know i assume:)
He said it himself he did not Think football was funny anymore and he lost his passion for The sport.. Thats why he stoped playing and The sesire to go further was lost 😞 Sad cause he was pretty good back in The Day and had Great potential 🙏
