I can see sporting and other celebrities just saying NO to interviews etc. with fly-by-night "journalists". Many people are trying to be journalists, and fair play to them, but they do not adhere to normal, professional standards. I guess Ray and others have to identify people like that and then avoid them. Let their journalism "careers" die on the vine ;) As a comparison... you guys never seem to have a problem getting the players to spend time speaking with you. And there in-lies the difference.

100% - journalism, including sports journalism, used to be a specialty, a skill, something you had to study. I know because I studied it at university. But now, there are very few sports journalists who study the craft, and anyone can do it. Write something, publish it, produce it in a way that will make it go viral and you are off and away. There are so many complexities and intricacies to being a journalist and they are all falling away.

RvB is the least likely to say anything like that. A proper gent. While the press (esp British) will twist things for their own ends to get a story. Utter scoundrels. In Littler's defence, it is more likely he never got Ray's messages because he maybe never saved him as a contact. With all the messages he must be getting, it was either blocked by default or he just deletes them en-masse. Can't see him not replying no matter how busy he may be as RvB is one of his idols.
