- Canadian Geese take over front yard suburban home in Asbury Park, NJ.
The Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) is a wild goose with a black head and neck, white patches on the face, and a brownish-gray body. Native to arctic and temperate regions of North America, it is occasionally found in northern Europe, and has been introduced to other temperate regions.
This species is native to North America. It breeds in Canada and the northern United States in a variety of habitats. Its nest is usually located in an elevated area near water such as streams, lakes, ponds and sometimes on a beaver lodge. Its eggs are laid in a shallow depression lined with plant material and down. The Great Lakes region maintains a very large population of Canada Geese.
In recent years, Canada Goose populations in some areas have grown substantially, so much so that many consider them pests for their droppings, bacteria in their droppings, noise, and confrontational behavior. This problem is partially due to the removal of natural predators and an abundance of safe, man-made bodies of water near food sources, such as those found on golf courses, in public parks and beaches, and in planned communities. Due in part to the interbreeding of various migratory subspecies with the introduced non-migratory Giant subspecies, Canada Geese are frequently a year-around feature of such urban environments.
Contrary to its normal migration routine, large flocks of Canada Geese have established permanent residence in Esquimalt, British Columbia, on Chesapeake Bay, in Virginia's James River regions, and in the Triangle area of North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill), and nearby Hillsborough. Some Canada Geese have taken up permanent residence as far south as Florida, in places such as retention ponds in apartment complexes.

Honking at geese only breeds more honking.
As a Canadian, I can confirm this is the Canadian military.
Lol and a good tough military too.
hhh
I always knew you guys were wimps.
As another Canadian I can confirm your confirmation
@@derrickhobbs8842 pfff you've clearly never encountered one of these winged fiends
i like how someone thought honking would scare them but it just made their quacks more loud
I worked in Toronto for about 30yrs and drove every day; during those years I often seen them crossing the Lakeshore and what I observed was no point in honking at them because it did not work.
They go at their own pace and formation so if you break it they will turn back and start over.
Love them:)
They didn't feel the need to cross the street until they saw cars coming.
🤣
Always the same....worldwide.
Ivette Mercado
Wild animals make drivers to be alert, and it helps to improve general safety at roads. There are countries, where humans behave exactly like wild or domesticated animals. So a driver should think for all of them and foresee their likely illogical movements at the road.
🤣💩🤣🤣🤣🤣
In India for men crosing Road vehicles doesn't stop
I like how they walk slowly just to piss the drivers off.
With that subject they are very successful
@@crocodilefirst I don't trust crocodile with ducks
They will move out of the way whether you’re on foot, bike, or car. You don’t need to stop.
@@candiceruth10 3+18
We have a lot of them around here and a gaggle of them were crossing the street with cars waiting, and one of them decides to stop in the middle, put his back under his wings and go to sleep! i rode by on my bike and apparently startled him enough to get him going again, but I thought that was pretty funny.
I love the way they take their time crossing the road and then decide to go back again
@wendy. Yeah, that was hilarious! 😂

When I see them crossing our canadian roads , I get out of my car , raise my hand like a soldier and salute them.
On the bright side, that guy's lawn just got a free dose of organic fertilizer.
And a free mowing.
And free protection from nasty scammers until the goose doesnt want to let you in the house
You mean stink bombs
@@alexd4310 The geese are the stinkbombs. They smell like old cheese if they feel threatened.
To much of it (goose sh***) will burn out the grass.
Seriously, Canada Geese are hilarious. We have a lot of them outside my house and they have their grass cutting routine and run over to you like dogs when they see you with a bag. One second they are all bright eyed "please feed me" the next it's "hiss, you feed me more now!" They know they are going to get fed one way or another. Cars - they don't car about cars. They are just big metal geese honking "hi!" to them.
Oh and they are always arguing amongst themselves. Crazy things!
You are so right!!
Sound like modern imigrants into Europe!
Armando de Sousa LMAO
I saw one goose arguing with another goose while a beaver joined a group of them for grazing. I think it was a beaver. Was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen, a beaver joining about 15 geese for dinner eating the grass. I was waiting for the geese to attack the beaver, but one of the geese attacked another one, instead. I am still baffled by what I saw, but only thing I can think of is that they made friends with the beaver already in the past and they socialize.
I agree with you .They are really crazy, foolish &stupid....They make nest at the hight.....unbelievable hight and make their chicks jump
Honking to a goose is like saying, "hello... YES, take your time."
"Do we need water??"
"nope..."
cars comming... wait maybe we do need some water now :D :D

They honked back
Yeah just drive, they'll fly out of the way...
Lol like the geese know what the horn means 😂
I bet if the camera wasn't there they would have run them over - I know what drivers are like, they get off on squashing any creature that dares cross their road.
Well, at least the owner of that house won't have to worry about getting robbed. Who's trying to go near that flock of geese? XD
The latest in ADT Tech.

I would pay money for this system. Love geese. Look at them little feet walkin.

The funny thing is people think honking at him will make him cross the road faster but they just start walking slower
😂😂😂
I passed by them days ago along a big river and they were just very at ease with their families, enjoying the good time and beautiful scenes, no one showing a little will to attack. Love these very responsible crestures! They ever contributed much to people's writing by offering their feathers.
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in which its animals are treated." -Gandhi
Well... I think almost most nations treat their soldiers with respect, so....
I like how people are just honking their horns at them like it’s gonna do something
Love how they walk very slow not giving a crap what the people in cars think
Love how they’re honking as if the geese know what the heck that means lol
I love Canada Geese (but then I'm a Canadian so I guess I'm supposed to). They will adopt orphaned goslings and some sources say a dominant pair will actually steal babies (hostile takeover I guess) to pad their brood. A friend of mine saw a gaggle of geese near a busy shopping centre in Winnipeg. There were 3 adults and over 30 babies. Go figure!
The dominate pair will only take goslings if the parents are not raising them correctly, they are given a second chance, one only, and if they continue to not raise them how the dominate pair see for they take them and raise them and the new parents have to wait a year to try again!
They are incredible creatures
I spent 8 years with a wild flock, photographing them, etc, they have many lessons man could learn from!
My brothers!
Hear me and obey!
We shall take this house and eat all of the hot dogs!

Please don't make us hurry, you all see the way we walk 😊😊😊
We get Canada geese in Scotland too. A large group of them is very intimidating especially if you’re walking through them on foot.
These geese have truly taken over all that is sacred.

love how the second car almost had a break to go with sparsely 2 geese almost clearing by(partially because of other car); these geese then turn around walk back in front of the car, and then sequester the remaining mob of geese to pass in front of car
Reminds me of the sandhill cranes of Florida. They go out in the roads to walk across or to simply be in the way.
Such beautiful birds🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆
Canadian gooses are nice, and when me and my mom and my sister went to Canada, we get to see the ducks and gooses, and none of the gooses we’re attacking us. And gooses also loves peanuts, we we’re feeding the gooses, and the ducks some peanuts.
they just hiss at me
“Ok, who had the idea of geese taking over for November?”
Westerners are too good at protecting animals!!!!!!!!!!!!thank you.!!!!

I live in very Northern Rhode Island and the geese come to cool down in summer and they go south to warm up in the winter.
More nice than these birds does not exists on the planet..... bravo!!!..
It's interesting, they seem to have geese crossgaurds, who stop in road holding up traffic while the crew cross the road. Also, they seem to be thumbing their beaks at the drivers as they slowly cross the road. I LOVE IT!🤣
Oh how sweet... I just love geese.
Funniest thing about this vid, when I first saw it I thought wow it looks so similar to Asbury park till I read the description. I live a block from where this happened and they seem to be all over my lawn every morning.

Goose parade: the official start for goose appreciation month.
Loved watching them, thanks!
Wonderful musical accompaniment... I love, respect (and own) animals, even Canada geese... BUT, Canada geese actually mess up (poop away) any area they occupy (i.e. a certain North Carolina lake around which my dog and I love to walk; also, a certain Georgia riverwalk frequented by thousands of walkers, bikers, elliptical-bikers, roller-bladers, picnickers, etc.)... I will add that my Springer spaniel ALWAYS adored it if I unleashed him, so he could dash down to the river and swim out for a merry chase before they each hollered, “Great to see you, bro! Ciao ‘til next time! “
so much silliness
It's not the geese who are crazy. They know exactly what they're doing. It is the humans who lack a place of their own.
The geese are just crossing the road, knowing nothing's gonna happen to them XD
I love them ❤️ the music fits perfect haha

I love watching the geese around my work, who act very similarly. Thing is, drivers around here know the trick with geese. You call their bluff. 100% success rate, because as my coworker once said: "The geese will always choose life, I've never run into a goose because they always choose life." The trick is going fast enough so they register a threat, but slow enough so they see you coming but can get away with their wings comically spread in the air.
