Enjoyed this video. Can't wait to watch a video about predictions from this year 20 years from now!

I was at the first TED and at the founders' request put together a last minute team to video the workshops (including this one). Remember, folks, one of the huge highlights of this TED Conference was the amazing, astounding 128 K Macintosh computer, complete with a mouse and MacPaint! The had about 15 or 20 of them set up. Like most everyone there, I rushed home and bought one....for about $3,500 (plus a $3000 printer!) As someone else posted here, Negroponte was waaaay ahead of the pack.

+nberedim Time has nothing to do with the human intelegence. You can imagine anything and it can be done until the technology is available.

Wow what an amazing discovery I have made. Today is 04/08/2012 and I was reading a book, "Being Digital," that I got a the library here in Memphis TN - because I needed to start a business around this internet stuff and now I get to learn from A Great Man! So thankful that the information is here. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

Remarkable, that this was presented in 1984....funny and ironic that his vision is encumbered but no way limited by the clunky technologies available at the time (e.g.; fumbling with the video disk, the horrible resolution on the monitors). Since, he has accomplished amazing things (One Laptop per Child!) and has helped fund many start-ups which have been instrumental in improvements to technologies necessary to commercialize this vision! A truly great man...

The story about the child is one of the best examples I've ever heard about the utilizing technology in the classroom.

Wow, I regularly use a data program on automotive repair and it's almost exactly the same as the program he showed, a bit more sophitcated but the basic idea is the same and of course we stuck with the mouse, hehe.

I was gonna post a comment about an hour ago but I lost track of where my mouse was and thus couldn't scroll down :(
Just kidding, fascinating and prophetic talk. (And he is indeed right about having to wiggle the mouse in order to find the cursor...)

Oh, man. The guy is a GENIUS and PROPHET, talking in 1984 (25+ yrs ago) about things that are only recently coming to widespread use (not to mention all the things he has accomplished since)....and you are quibbling about his speaking style!? LOL

He believes that this project will one day be a catalyst for rapid development in third world countries through education! This project supplies poor children mostly in Third World Countries with an internet enabled laptop. This program connects kids with education, aspiration and the world! Isn't that great for an extraordinary person to help our poor brothers and sisters to be adapted and well-equipped with knowledge about modern technology.
    Isextraordinary....
