As a guy who grew up in the middle of nowhere scrounging magic tricks outta books and at card games I can tell you the internet is a God send.
Just the ability to buy books I had only ever heard of was a game changer.

Note: I only watched the first eight minutes because there were issues with the internet connection. For me it's extremely annoying when the video freezes every now and again, sorry.
But for those first eight minutes it seemed to me that the interviewer didn't quite like half the answers he was getting, and he was often unsure where to go next. But at least he was trying to keep an open mind in spite of the vague answers he was getting. Now John Bannon talks about the importance of knowing which tricks you like and why. That immediately makes me curious to know what tricks he doesn't like, and why he doesn't like them. It also makes me wonder why that is important. Because I always knew which tricks I liked or didn't like and why, but I don't think it's made me a better magician.
