Well at least the 40 fans had a field day with that one
Value for money!
and a long one
If they even needed to pay@@rurounigaijinn
might as well let them join at this point
Penaldo 😂
The funny thing with penalties is once you get past about 10 each the nerves die down and you’re just waiting to see who’ll miss 😂
Hahaha yeah I remembered in the final between Chelsea and Liverpool last year (or a few years ago). At first I was anxious, and then it became boring as I just want the shootout to end 😂😂 which is when finally Kepa misses lol.
@@krishnawidardjo5777 it’s always the keepers😂, same thing with us against Villarreal few years ago when De Gea missed his
M
@@BigPurp9then there's Neuer who shot and scored his penalty in UCL before all outfield players had the chance 💀
@@saptaccrvima3563😂
"Why are you home late?"
"We had a penalty shootout"
I was annoyed when something similar happened in Football Manager. I left to make a cup of coffee, and when I returned, they were still going. I was worried it would go on forever, and was just hoping someone, even my own players, would just miss and put me out of my misery. It eventually ended 38-37. My team lost. Never been so relieved to lose a match on FM.
🤣🤣🤣
I know the feeling 😅
Highlight speed on full. Replay speed, also full
I usually play a 3-4-2-1/3-4-1-2 in FM and I win a lot, I actually won the league with Leeds and Leverkusen separately, unfortunately the save game got lost on both occasions 💔
Had my longest with united vs everton in one of the cup finals, i forgot which one. Took my 17-16 win and went straight to fcking bed.
Haha, I didn't initially notice the goalie ageing at the start of the video. Nice touch!
Ohhhh
The 2009 Greek Cup final between AEK and Olympiacos ended in a 4-4 draw and then 14-15 on penalties if I remember correctly. Best game in Greek football history...
I remembered this. It's even regarded as the most insane football cup final. AEK were so close on winning this silverware after being 3-2 up, when Olympiacos had 2 players being sent off in extra time.
Similarly in Turkey, Gençlerbirliği beat Galatasaray in the sixth round of the Turkish Cup in 1996-97 season 17-16 on penalty shootouts, after a 1-1 draw AET.
Imagine it happening a World cup final? I'm sure there would be a lot of people in hospital due to Heart Attack!
Paramedics coming inside the stadium stands to help the affected spectators would end up staying to watch the shoot out as well lol
This year was the longest in a UEFA european match. Glentoran (of Belfast, Northern Ireland) lost to Gżira United (of Malta) 13 -14.
I was at it and it honestly felt like the shootout took a year with all the tension.
I remember the longest I've ever been at. A Champions League Qualifier between FCK and Red Star in 2019. It ended 6-7 to Red Star but that's not the remarkable thing. The interesting part is that it was the 9th miss that settled the score with a staggering 22 total penalties due to a waterlogged pitch with new laid turf that made the penalty spot bouncy leading to that many complete misses. And 5 penalties that had to be retaken.
So in total with retaken penalties there were 27 penalties.
Also interesting is the fact that since both teams had a player sent off both goal keepers actually scored.
49 of 54 pens scored. Maybe those goalkeepers who scored both theirs are better at shooting than saving penalties.
Statistically at least like 40 would go in so
This is straight out of Monty Python sketch. Lmao.
Interesting enough, The longest i've ever watch was during the ICC Cup pre-season in America between Man United vs AC Milan, 11 players had already taken the shot and returned to the first one, I don't remember how many players took a shot after that but it was getting bored, after some time even Mou and Gattuso the coach at that time asked the referee to let them take a shot, the penalty ended with Man United win after AC Milan player failed miserably in trying to take what i think a panenka attempt
The 2007 Under-21 Euros semi-final (🏴v🇳🇱) comes to mind. That was epic!
Summary of Video: 25-24
I mean something from non league teams always had crazy stories
I live where this happened this game is legendary.
Hey look the EBAC northern league made it to TIFO!!!
Choked my water at the end 😂😂😂
No but it did actually happen, had there been another round of penalties the game would’ve been abandoned
@@Ginger8931 lol that makes it more climactic too
@@Ginger8931 why? Did the lights malfunction?
The first shootout I remember going beyond 11 penalties each was when Celtic beat Dundee United in the Scottish League Cup in 2009. Artur Boruc took the most audacious penalty I've ever seen by a goalie, and scored it
In Argentina's primera división (premier) in 1988 Argentinos Juniors defeated Racing Club by 20-19 in a 44 penalty shootout lasting roughly 45 minutes, after a 2-2 draw, just to get a bonus point (a rule for that tournament).
So detailed about the previous. Why not who missed the penalty.
Only 5 of the 54 were missed, and gamblin scored number 54. Unfortunately even as a local I can’t remember nor find who missed number 53
My keeper trainer played in that😅. Spoke to him the day after, he was fuming. He was the bedlington keeper.
Can’t exactly be fuming at anyone but yourself if you concede 25 out of 27 penalties 😂
This month there has been a new world record of penalties in the netherlands of 56 penalties taken. Think it was in one of the amateur leagues here
In the third league in israel
The longest Penalty shoot out I saw was with Manchester United vs Villareal in the European final.
Isn't Villarreal the opponents of Manchester United in that game?
@@ezraezra2928 you're right.
Goal keepers scoring pks is the best. When Alyssa Naeher does it i smile for days.
how come all these crazy things happen in cup games 💀
😂😂😂
The game took place in Sunderland, what did you expect
When is the last time you've seen a league game go to penalties?
@@FeatherWait ig he means because it hardly ever happens in like European competitions
@@countryman_876better goalkeepers I guess
Ended not because they missed but because the lights turned off 😂
Give over, who never had ever guessed this was a short drive away from my gaf lol
No wonder the longest shootout happens in ENGLAND
On july 3rd 2016 there was a penalty shootout in 5th level competition in Czech republic between SK Baťov 1930 and FC Fryšták which ended after 52 penalties (22:21).
The battle of the ghost goalkeepers who can't save a penalty
Funny how same year Liverpool won 11-10 on penalties against Chelsea in the League Cup final
"Ok, it's over. Now go away!"
SUNDERLAND MENTIONED 🗣🗣🗣🗣
the egypt vs drc game felt like this lol
There is a new record now
Mine was Australia vs France W World Cup 2023
The longest i saw live was 22 penalties long, huddersfield vs sheff utd in the league one playoff final
More penalties taken than fans watching lol
Going to say that the longest penalty shootout was about 12 yards.
So it’s still going on?
Every fan could've scored a pen.
Nah like at a certain point someone Must just take it for the team and miss😂
🗣BEDLINGTON MENTIONED‼️🔥
Liverpool beat Middlesbrough 14-13 on penalties in a cup game a few years ago!
11:24 Not South American/South Asian Shia Lebouf playing Emilio the priest 😌
I thought it was how long it took and was about to say Paul Pogba.
Bradley Chisholm was Him that game.
The guy who missed💀💀
So what if light goes out before it
Wishing to see him manage for bayern
I'd love to know if any player involved took two and missed them both.
Whey Sunderland

Its not true any more it was broken in israel
There was 2 teams in a cup where the score was 105-103
How does that happen with a penalty shoot out?
Not the longest it was 31-30
Doesn’t that equal 49
Great 🎉🎉
Wow
Usyeh
How come some players only had to take two penalties?
Every player took two penalties, so 22*2=44. Then ten players took the remaining 10 penalties
Did I hear England
Yep, north east football
2021 stupid United's loss to Villarreal in UEL😅

Is any one going to talk about how 25 +24= 49
So is there a sudden death rule???
This is the sudden death brah

Wild how 49/54 were scored. Did the keepers just not move?
90.7407407407% isn't that crazy of a conversion rate. That's marginally better than a penalty shootout that ends 5-4 with 1 missed.

Nope lies

Uh no this wasn't Sunderland Vs Newcastle this was Washington and the other club nowt to do with Newcastle

Non league teams are known to be very good at penalties
