Black Veil Brides On New Music, New Band Lineup and The Future of BVB in 2020

Black Veil Brides prepare to spend “The Night” with you. The acclaimed metal unit are furthering their commitment to their fans-and they’re completely lit about it.
There’s all kinds of things happening in the #BlackVeilBrides camp, and AltPress is in on the ground floor. Prior to the holiday, the band-vocalist Andy Biersack, guitarists Jinxx and Jake Pitts and drummer Christian Coma-filmed a video for us explaining how they are changing things for 2020.
The first bit of news is the recruiting of bassist Lonny Eagleton to the ranks of BVB. Fans who attended the #AndyBlack #GhostOfOhio tour will remember Eagleton as the man holding down the low end while being the straight-man for all of Biersack’s jokes. As the video will reveal, his personal commitment to #BVB started loooong before he got on a tour bus with Andy Black. (Keep your eyes open for the story about having a Set The World On Fire phone case.)
Regarding record releases and new music, the band have decided to take a page from the hip-hop playbook. Biersack says the band will be creating “duologies,” essentially two-song singles that will be released with greater frequency. Instead of going through the time-consuming process involved with the creation of a full-length album, new songs will be delivered with greater immediacy with all of the artwork and touring schedules in support of the release.
The first duology will consist of the songs “The Night” and “Saints Of The Blood.” The latter song was created from riffs and melodies Pitts had from years ago, with Jinxx adding his classical sensibilities into the mix.
“With the feeling of nostalgia on this one, going back into the time when we were doing the rerecord [of We Stitch These Wounds],” Biersack begins, “the idea was to add two songs that felt very much like the band that we were in the past and maybe strayed away from [and] return to that form.
“Quite honestly, when you’ve been a band as long as we have and put out five full-length records, EPs and everything else, you want to do new stuff,” Biersack says. “I think this is a model that we’re really excited about, and moving forward, it’s a sustainable model that we can do, something that allows us to write songs together and release music, do music videos and artwork, bring it to people and say, ‘This is the new thing.’ And then half a year later, there’s another new thing.”
Later on in the clip, Biersack goes on to acknowledge how BVB’s mighty fandom has been with them every step of the way (“There was never a fan-voted award that our audience didn’t make sure we won”). Coma enthuses that he’s grateful when he sees fans getting something BVB tattooed on their bodies.
The band also have their fair share of mind-equals-blown memories. From playing on bills with their favorite bands (who jumped into Metallica’s snakepit?) to WTF-moments headbanging to a packed house on a Russian tour to a certain member fantasizing about tour bus engines, there’s plenty of solid rocking memories to be shared in the clip.
Biersack eloquently sums up the band’s impetus for all of the big changes afoot in their future. “Our goal is to say thank you to the fans for giving us this amount of time by proving that we’re worth it,” he says. “If someone lets you stick around making music for a decade and still gives you the opportunity to do that, that’s a really cool thing they’ve done for us. And it’s worth repaying the favor.”

My favorite memory of BVB is seeing them live for the first time. It was a cold night but me and my buddies along with hundreds of others were waiting in line and it was so worth it being able to see the show
My favorite BVB memories came from their early days. Andy made me his bitch backstage and I sucked a log of shit out of his puckered brown eye.
Meeting Andy back at Chain Reaction 2010. He was my IDOL! Knives and pens, the gunsling, morticians daughter was my shit. I think I was the one introducing this band to my school because I really liked them. Meeting him he gave me his bracelet and I absolutely cherished it 😭😭 I still have it til today 💕

I'm gonna miss Ash so much, his essence, his performance, his pervert thoughts, everything!!! I know the idea was never to replace Ash (nobody could do it) but the idea that a fan can share his talent with his favorite a band, is the way you realize how honest and pure they are, this is a new era with a new guy and it's good, I hope he can build his own story with BVB as CC did when Sandra left. Took me a long while to process all this information. Black Veil Brides was the first band I listened to that got me into the music I listen to today. I had been listening to them since I was around 13/14 years old. I'm turning 21 soon. This is incredible to hear that they are back. It nearly brought me to tears. I can't wait to see what else they have in store for us.

After hearing newer inerviews where andy talks about the negativity he was experiencing in the band over the past 6 years without naming anybody, its clear that ashley getting booted was the biggest part in how amazing they sound now. that negative, forced energy that stained IV and Vale is not only entirely gone, but i get that same exact feeling when listening to his solo work. This was exactly what BVB needed. Restitch feels like a call for a new beginning for this band and was a genious way to recindle the severed relationship BVB created with the fans that walked away because of their works during that time.
I absolutely adore Ashley don’t get me wrong but I feel like Ashley didn’t quite enjoy being in the band as much as he thought he did there were a few times where you could tell e wanted out but at least he is happy with his solo stuff now

I'm so happy that BVB is back !!!!! and the music videos were so fantastic 😍 this is the best Thanksgiving ever . Watching this interview at midnight and having no regrets at all . BVB is my favorite band they have been since 7th grade this fall marks 10 years . My favorite BVB memory was seeing them live for the first time and I remember singing along to every single song they played . That night was just fantastic and they have helped me through so much ♥️ over the years .

I have been a fan for five years and the two live shows I went to count to my most treasured moments. I never understood how people could feel so connected and dedicated to some strangers they had never met - until I found BVB.
Every one of the members has made me laugh and appreciate that they exist, I have listened to every song more often than I can count. I (and many other fans as well) care a lot for this bunch weirdos - and I truly think that some of that is reciprocated.

I think this idea of consitency in putting out content will be really worthwhile. I dont care if its only a couple songs, I love the hell out of this band and have enjoyed all of their albums and EP’s. I have yet to see them in concert yet though cause the closet place to me that they play at is a few hours away and its in the city which makes me nervous both for my safety while driving (cause I’m not used to heavy traffic of that level) and trying to plan for it timewise. But hopefully with what they’re trying to do and making it so they can do more tours and stuff, it’ll give me more opportunities to go see them at least once in my life before they’re all ready to move on to different stages in life and the band is over. That may not happen for a long time but it’s just a worry that hits me hard.

I'm really excited about this new format of dualogies too - it's cool to see things being switched up a bit after a while of the same format, and restricting the number of songs released at once seems to be allowing the direction to really go full pelt in one direction, which I like, because it doesn't have to be toned down to stay consistent with other stuff. The quality is also super high and it's also awesome to see some nostalgia and returning to the old stuff in The Night, it's getting me back into it as well! But also excited to see what else you all explore. Also welcome to Lonny! That's so cool that he was a massive fan and definitely a wise move. He seems super respectful and like he completely gets everything the band is about, which is really important, and it's cool to see because idk about anyone else, but it's a lil like living vicariously through him - I'm so excited for him as someone who was and is a massive fan, and when I was younger, would fantasise about being in the band lol.
I think Lonny will be a great BVB bass player! He belongs in this band! 🖤

2 years ago at a Andy Black show I saw Lonny and told my daughter he’s going to be in Black veil brides one day... the day it was Announced Ashley was no longer I said Lonny is gonna be playing bass . He is is super nice, gave my daughter a guitar pick after a show for letting him use his Sharpie. So glad the original sound is back can’t wait to see them in March and for our meet n greet!

I haven't really been part of this fandom for a couple years, and I was (and still am) a HUGE fan of BVB. When I heard about everything going on and new music being released I knew I needed to return to my roots. Hearing Andy's voice again makes me so happy and also shocks me because I forgot how higher pitched his voice was. He's incredible!

Guys look we all have one thing in common here our love for BVB. Lonny is a part of BVB he's a great guy and phenomenal bass player. I follow bands that have had so many memebers leave maybe come back then leave again but I love that band and respect the decisions they make because thier grown ass adults and I know thier doing what they feel is right. Same concept for BVB guys. Ya ash left but he's still working on muisc. It's not like he disappeared forever. Ash was my inspiration for playing bass growing up and I was heartbroken to see him leave bvb. But I’m so excited to see Lonny with the band and I’m happy for him that he gets to be up on stage with them. Welcome to bvb Lonny!

I have loved you guys since you first released Wretched and Divine and have looked to your music for strength and guidance when I was at my lowest. There were a lot of times that I found myself completely alone and had no one to talk to but you were the group of friends I knew I could always rely on. When I listened to your music, I never felt alone. It felt like you always knew what to say and I can't thank you enough for that. Whenever I feel like I can't carry on and there is no hope, my first reaction is still to play one of your songs which hasn't failed to lift my spirits yet. You have inspired me to persue a career in music and I hope one day I will be able to meet all of you and maybe even just chill/chat for a bit at some point along that journey.
I am so excited for these changes. I don't really know how you could get better but I'm sure you will figure it out somehow. You always do.
I'm sorry that Ashley left and I wish him the absolute best on whichever path he has decides to take. I have a good feeling about Lonny joining the band though. He has done a great job in the two new songs and Andy's Ghost of Ohio. I would say welcome to our family/army but it seems he has been part of it for a long time already. 😂
I would also like to ask you to please come to South Africa for a concert or two if it isn't to much trouble. I have always wanted to go to one of your concerts but you haven't ever come here. Understandable why you wouldn't but I hope you will soon. Every time I see that you have released tour dates, I rush over to look for my city just in case.
