Saw Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" and "Diamond Dogs" tours during the
early 70's it was so otherworldly at the time you just can't imagine.
Still reigns supreme today . RIP DAVID .

It’s quite a bizarre thing, music reactions, but I understand why they’ve become so popular. We, the audience, get to relive our first listen to our favourite music vicariously through the reactor, thus we understand more about what attracted us to the song or artist in the first place.
David Bowie man, my first real love in music!🔥👏🏻

One of the most emblematic David Bowie's songs. He was a visionary and man ahead of his time. My father loved David Bowie and he has several records of him. I didn't expect that Rory. Excellent reaction❤👏👍👌🎸🎤

This is a favorite Bowie song of mine...it was a strange era for him but so unique and I just loved it, the whole album is incredible. This sounds like the studio version, actually.

"Space Oddity" is a song by the English singer-songwriter David Bowie. It was first released on 11 July 1969.

*Rory.* Thank you 😊 Staggering genius. Love this man ❤ My first rock crush (4th grade)
You may get more from a music appreciation standpoint by 'hosting' a reaction channel...but not many people have the right manner/approach to earn (deserve?) loyal viewers. Sadly most reactors get cheesy or just phone it in ...
Need to get you to do Flight of the Conchords' tribute to him, "Bowie's in Space" 😄

I agree about reactions. I was a singer almost all my life. I couldn't really imagine my life without music every day. Then I had a long illness where I was misdiagnosed and it took 5-6 crucial years of my life away. It was very traumatic and harrowing. Afterward it was as if I'd been in a war and I just stopped with music. Partly because at that point music was no longer an option in terms of performing and partly because long periods of trauma can change your personality. I'm sure I hoped I wouldn't love music again. Reaction channels have made me feel the spark again that music once gave me. It's interesting to listen to these songs with people who sometimes have no context for the time they were written, and there are interesting insights that I may have been blind too because of when and where I grew up. Also, because singing was always my focus I've learned a LOT more from people who play different instruments or work in production talking about those aspects of records I either totally missed or didn't quite have the knowledge and vocabulary to articulate. It can be really surprising to see how someone takes in a song or a band.

I think that's the first time I saw that video of this song. I'm pretty sure I've seen a video in which Bowie has his long hair - before the Ziggy era. It might even be in black and white. I'm not sure, But, wow, what a great video for 1972. Hat's off to Mick Rock,
Rory, if you're going to do live Bowie, you have GOT to watch when he and Gail Ann Dorsey (his bassist) perform "Under Pressure". She sings Freddie's part while she playing bass. There are many versions on CZcams from different live shows,
    Great reaction, as always. :)

You should check out the revised version of this song recorded by Commander Chris Hadfield on board the International Space Station about 10 years ago. What a trip.

for some reason this song always reminds me of the movie The Illustrated Man one of the stories takes place on a planet where there's constant rainfall and the spacemen who landed on it are slowly losing their minds

I saw him in 87 for his glass spider tour, was awful, broke my heart. I love DB. Georgia Satelites was Better than Bowie and Duran Duran who sucked as well. He received some tough reviews, didn't play any hits. I did smoke some weed with the Yuppies behind us so that was fun.

I saw him for the Glass Spider tour in Detroit, and he was great. Can't even remember the other acts.
