The voice of a man born in 1810. That is something.
It's pretty crazy that we can HEAR Barnum and well as SEE Barnum in this video. I wonder if he ever expected that kind of future.
@@BarnumMuseum There might not be anyone who was born earlier whose voice has been preserved. So he might have that little factoid to add to his legacy.
@@gamera1962 Queen Victoria and Florence Nightingale were also recorded, so he was in quite extraordinary company! Thanks! Great idea to include this factoid!!
Holy cow! For those of us in our advanced years, and lucky enough to have known our grandparents, our second-hand knowledge thus spans 3 centuries.
This video is a true gem.
I am speechless all i can say is Wow
lost!? I have had this recording in my archive for 30 years!
Wow very good
Thank you so much 😀
Wow how amazing!!
Thank you!
How’s everyone so shocked?
That is amazing!!!!
Wow!!!
Too bad there are no recordings of Jenny Lind but it's good that he captured this and we have something.
How amazing it would be to have Jenny Lind's voice, I agree. She was right on the edge of recorded sound, so truly a shame. Thanks for sharing!
The voice of the greatest showman?
i wonder if this is how he really spoke or did he change his pitch for the phonograph. they didnt handle bass tones very well.
Woah! This was during the American revolution!
About 25 years after the American Civil War
Over a century later, back to the books ! 😅
