It still blows my mind that fans of this band are stunned when they change their sound. They have literally changed their sound on every album release since they started. Honestly, it's what makes me like them so much. They have such a diverse discography compared to most metal/hard rock bands. I've really enjoyed watching your reactions to all the different Avenged songs. Almost like hearing the songs for the first time for myself again, seeing how much you've enjoyed the ride so far.
They already began changing since the white album, so it's not strange already for me
I feel that this is probably the most jarring change. Although you can hear the seeds for this album being planted when listening to the stage.
It is not the fact that they are changing, it is the fact that this does not sound a music to me
Fans aren't stunned that they changed... they like how the sound matures and ventures out a bit. But this album they strayed way off to the point it doesn't even sound like them anymore.
Every album was a big evolution (maybe except Hail to the King and it still sounded different). But this one is by far the biggest one. I love A7X, because they change and still creating great music. People mostly hate, because they want another City of Evil and can't accept that this A7X is gone with Rev. When I first listened to this album I was confused. After few more replays I love it, but it's still difficult for me to rank it. As a whole experience it might be their best, but it's hard to put a lot of these songs on shuffle, because they are independently not that great.
For me Cosmic is already top3, but over time I might have it as number 1. It's not just a song, it's an experience and masterpiece.
This song is an emotional masterpiece. Whether some fans were turned off by it, its still incredibly moving and well written
I have a very hard time believing an actual avenged fan would be turned off by this song...actual fans that know the bands music know has changed every album! Look how different WTF and city of evil were.. they continue to grow and evolve. If you know the band, this whole album feels like a journey of everything they have put out over the past 24 years
i shit my pants after first listen.
Same feeling like "exist", in first listen.
holy cow
@@adamkovac1991 broooo same!!
Not going to lie, after 50+ times of hearing this song it still has this grown ass man tearing up. I’ve been a fan of Avenged since the City of Evil album. After The Rev passed I’ve never been sure of where my quite possibly favorite band was going to go next. Hail to the King was so so, and The Stage is great but not perfect. Almost six years later, I was truly excited they were finally releasing a new album yet scared I was going to hate the direction they went. LIBAD exceeded any expectation I had, seven fold 😉. It’s been awesome seeing a band mature the way they have and I’m still proud to say these amazingly talented musicians are still my favorite band.
I cried uncontrollably tripping on shrooms and listening to cosmic. 😊
@@tywins3669well they wrote the album because the were tripping on various spiritual drugs, so you were kinda on point with their headspace when writing it
This is easily my favorite A7x song of all time having been a fan of them since the begging. The maturity and emotional resonance is amazing
Perfectly said
this should have been the final song on the album. it leaves you with such a uplifted feeling.
I was thinking the same
agree
That's the thing though, the album isn't meant to make you feel uplifted. This song is meant to be an uplifting part of "life," but life is but a dream. the album is a perfect cycle, imo.
@@SuperSlawter its uplifting, koz the song makes it feel like the true journey happens after death.
Yeah if they just literally put LIFBAD to open the album and this to close it, it would be an amazing progression
THAT SMILE. Thats what this song does. Just makes you smile. I want this song played at my funeral as pictures of my life are shown on a screen or my ashes or whatever are spread. Its to me the culmination of life and feeling and human. To me this is their greatest song ever. Fuck everything else, fuck attitude and badassness. This is what music is about, talking about humanity and what its like to be human and reflecting on our existence.
Shadows said they would play it live at some point and DAMN do I wish they played it when I saw them last friday. lol I would have lost my ever loving shit.
Brooks drumming on this is incredible , the composition of all the textures of strings/horns/synths.. the Daft Punk style vocoder .. Just a different musical experience and pretty amazing
💯
This song is a masterpiece. The "boom" sound at 3:57 represents the big bang and the day we gained self awareness as children. The vocal cutting out at the end is us taking our last breath triumphantly. God, it's just such a beautiful song 🥲
Holly fuck never saw it that way, amazing point
This song is absolutely amazing the more you listen to it. The whole album is amazing when you realize all of the stuff the band chose to do intentionally. Like their choice of auto tune in this song is absolutely perfect when you put it in the context of the album. Some of the other songs have the same way of building up as well although they don't seem like it at first... songs like beautiful morning and easier. Mattel has a way of getting better and better over time as well.
Cosmic is an instrumental masterpiece, and it captures M. Shadow's (vocalist) emotionally powerful vocals. Such a brilliant piece. Avenged Sevenfold truly is a unique and outstanding band.
This song is beautiful. The whole album is a masterpiece. Love it 🌌
I still can't hear this sh*t without crying. It's beautiful, made my heart mealt. Love how Matt sounds, and listening that healthy voice from him, makes it even better 🖤
sounds like me with a lot of Epica songs,
gets me in the feels, I actually want "the fifth guardian" by them played at my funeral 😂
neither can I, it is so powerfull and so intense
I think this is one if not the most liked song among A7X fans from the new album
You’re right. This, Mattel and Beautiful Morning (in that order) are the OG fan favorites it seems.
@@HeavyMetalForLife you named the exact three for me
Matt's vocals at the very end, he's still got it man. those "im gone" notes sounded great
I’ve been a fan since 05 and this is my fav of the new album.
I love watching people truly experience this masterpiece for the first time, and your reaction has been one of my favorites! Love your passion for music!
Holding back the tears are we 🤣 don't worry this masterpiece makes me cry everytime 💯
Same! Reminds me of my grandparents who are both 90+ and near the end! I wonder if they realize the impact they’ve had on me and my siblings and if they understand what awaits in the afterlife. Makes me cry as soon as the second part comes in after the solo. Because there’s gotta be more that awaits and I can’t wait to rejoin them after a likewise long journey on this plain of existence. On to bigger and better things. You passed the test. Now see what really awaits. Incredible! ❤
Can confirm. Have burst into tears more than once.
I'm so happy someone Is finally crediting that insane transition
What a wild and emotional song. I love it!
I generally haven't liked a lot of Avenged Sevenfold music; despite recognizing some of the talent they have.
They finally released an album here that fits my taste. They do so many unique and creative things, while still maintaining their high performance level.
Genuinely surprised as hell that I like an Avenged Sevenfold album, and that this song in particular is my song of the year thus far.
It kinda seems like this album has reached a whole lot of non a7x fans. I'm one of em
@@brucanthwood welcome! ive been a fan since i was 12 haha im only 22. these guys are the absolute best and i hope u find more of their music u like.
I've always told people "if you don't like avenged, just wait an album cycle" and for so many people it seems to come true! Welcome home buddy, we're glad to have you here!
I just stopped to listen them, but this album and the stage bring me back
Yeah, count me in on that action too! I was like holy fuck this is the A7x?
My new favorite song by them. It'll blow people away if they play it live
This song is aboulte amazing!! Shadows got beatiful lyrics, the long guitar solo is sublime, and the drumroll in the end, just kick ass!! this song is about 2 lovers that lives through several lives as a pair, they die, the rejoin in another life.. life after life, maybe a weird concept, but it works for me.
This song is also the track A7X didnt play live in first concerts, but because this song is starting to become a fan favorite, they will add it in setlist soon, i heard Mr Shadows say this..
its like a little piece of heaven, A7X didnt expect that one to be big either, but the fans made it one of their absolute biggest hits.
Imo this album is a masterpiece i keep coming back, and listen to it from start to finish..
Good morning from New England..This new A7X is growing on me..Once again Sin and Zacky showcase a wide variety of styles..And Brooks Wakerman is just killing it on the drums...The Rev would be proud of them all...RIP JIMMY ✌️🤘🧐
RIP
Well said bud
REV4EVER....❤❤
Last part brooks is kill it🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥☠️☠️☠️
This is without a doubt, for me, the saddest album from Avenged Sevenfold. The arrangement, the lyrics, usage of orchestra. It’s a great album.. just very very sad. The story is sad.
It's a toss up between this and nightmare to me, but I can see why this would seem more sad
I think its funny because its sad but its also beautiful because of that in all the best ways. I think its theyre best album overall. It feels like all their albums and lyrics have been leading up to these lyrics and theme. Amazing.
This song and Mattel already deserved to be legends! You need to look at the Mattel song urgently. They were arguably the two best songs on the album 🔥👽☠
I agree those I found myself replaying often
This song is awesome, total journey. Anyway for your next one you should do unholy confessions live in the lbc, that’s their first breakthrough song back in the day and it’s still a staple in almost all their sets
I could watch you guys react to avenged sevenfold all day. You seem like great people
This album gets better everytime. 🎵 There you’ll find MEEEEE
This song is amazing. I’ve been listening to them since the beginning and this is probably one of their best. They are probably the best pure musicians in rock.
I’m an Old 60…..I agree bout the “Old School” Fans(Including my son) won’t like/or will maybe come around…..But I Agree with Both of You….!!!👍🤟
Avengers sevenfold was my favourite band many years before I heard Opeth, Porcupinetree and Dream Theater. And now they brought this album. This is already my favourite A7X album because I am grown of their older music.
And guys you must do album review because this album is kind of made to hear all these songs in order.
Dream Theater is my favorite band, but it’s kinda crazy that the latest Avenged record is more prog than the latest DT one lol
@@forentertainment3259 yeah. I don't even listen Dreamtheater anymore
I’ve been an A7X fan since Sounding the Seventh Trumpet & I love the new album! This and Mattel are my favorite off the album
Great reaction y'all. Just an FYI, if you plan on listening to the songs G, (O)rdinary, and (D)eath they need to be listened to in that order and back to back to back.
Again, thanks for the reaction!
This comment has Tool fan vibes
@Jenova lol what tool songs are connected?
@@mirkecWii Disposition, Reflection, and Triad. Technically Wings pt 1 & 2
Yes they flow into each other for sure
@@JenovaGirzz as far as I know, disp refl and triad are only connected in the back of the album art
This song gives me the goosebumps every single time. 🤟
It will be hard to any band to reach this album perfection! This one will be remembered !
I think you should check out a song of their last album “The Stage” Exist it has sorta the same vibe . I love the new album
Isso está longe de ser só uma música,e uma obra de arte!
For every fan that lose, they gain another because I've never been a fan of theirs but this is one of my favorite albums in a long time and this song is absolutely amazing and it deserves a November Rain type music video! 💗
I've never teared up just from the music purely itself. Until this song. Avenged Sevenfold has come so far from when first heard them as a kid. Absolutely love
Ive only listened to this album a hundred times 😂😂
& I've been following them since waking the fallen
saw them once before jimmy died and twice since then, always a great show
If they dont play this song at my funeral, I'm not going
i really really fuckin love your reaction!!
more avenged sevenfold!
The best reaction ive seen to this song, the first 2 ppl to fully appreciate the creativity! This made my day fr!!
I’ve rocked them since the early 2000’s, and this is the song for the people who have grown up with them.
Been following them since city of evil 2004.. they and I have grown equally.. I'm always here for it...
This band is his so much more talented than most people understand. They’re the most unique hard rock band I know. Their sound always works with me.
Either fans grow with them or they grow apart, I'm really totally respecting this new album. I dig it.
man!!!i love watching you!!i knew the song before and i knew you would love it !!thank you very much
Loved every album from sounding the seventh trumpet to this one. Yeah theyve changed the sound. But theyve done that every album while still being at the forefront of metalcore. Took a couple listens on a few of these songs to really get it, but once it clicked for me sonically and lyrically i fell in love.
9:54 I was exactly like this with most of the songs of this album. I grew up on little peace of heaven, critical acclaim, etc. But as I hear this album more and more, I understand how this album is a literal masterpiece. I guess I was just blinded by the past lmao
A7x is my favorite band and when they dropped this album it was a very bad bad time for me. My fiance was battling and passed from a terminal illness. She was the love of my life. I remember drawing her to A7x and she ended up really liking them. When I read the lyrics to this song I literally lost it. It is such a beautiful touching song as sad as it is. So real and raw. In her final days in which she was non coherent and unable to speak, eat, and was 100% total care I played her all of her favorite A7x songs including this one. She passed that night at home in her bed peacefully. This song will always be her song and forever be in my heart. I love you Kristina. RIP baby. 11/21/89- 8/26/23.
If you don't like this song, tell me why. That's where I'm at on it.
im glad i wasnt the only one to tear up hearing this song
Try Save Me pls. It’s the same type of emotional experience, but completely different at the same time.
The rev would be proud with this one 🥺
This song is amazing. Just discovered this band last year and I have to say that this song has made me want to hear all their previous music. I am an old rocker and my heart belongs to The Beach boys that put out "Pet Sounds" that was a masterpiece in their time. Like them, Avenged Sevenfold has put out this album that could cause as much controversy. It is different, but the wait for this album was well worth it. This album and especially this song, that I think is the best track, can stand up with the other masterpieces proudly.
A7X is maturing soo amazingly. They get diffrent all the time but I always love and enjoying it... Their music has gotten reealy deep in time..
This album is great I'm glad you guys are reacting to it!
That ending saved the song for me. I think this is a song that needs some more listens, for me at least, I can definitely see myself really liking this with a couple of more runthroughs.
i'm a deathcore fan, but this song man.. song of the year for me besides AmEN!
@@sabiangilang8256. a deathcore fan likes that garbage BMTH song?
@@idontcare789 garbage? why?
@@sabiangilang8256 they've been putting out such trash lately. I mixed up the titles of their two newest ones. That song really isn't that bad. It's probably the last heavy song they'll do, though.
@@idontcare789 how do u know that'll be their last heavy-song? i dig their newest song, add something new n different doesn't mean that bad or trash.
this has to be my funeral song.
This song hits hard in the emotions.
no one whos a hardcore A7X fan is surprised or even disappointed at them changing lol its a lot of people who when avenged became trendy jumped onboard. But when theyre old stuff came out it got shat on every time until people came around. Nothing changed honestly, this album is more "this band" than anything else they couldve done tbh
Cosmic is probably in my opinion a masterpiece and most likely one of the best songs of A7X! Great
Love this album. I'll always love A7X. 🤘😈🔥
I'm energy right now, I hope this message gets through, as in this moment I'm the text itself
One of the most beautiful albums I have ever heard. I am not easily impressed. The artistic inspiration literally brings tears to my eyes. Your reaction helps, lol.
I loved Waking the Fallen, but this is the first album since then that I've liked. People want them to be catchy metal, and i get that, but there is some brilliant and versatile prog going on here.
Watching and enjoying from 🇦🇺 🇦🇺
This is probs my fav song off the album.
This song made me super emotional for like a week after it came out, no idea why haha
You all need to give So Far Away by Avenged Sevenfold a reaction. It is a tribute to their late drummer The Rev who was one of the best drummers of all time.
best calm song! help me a lot !!!! brooks insane in this ALBUM RIGHT? THE DRUM WAS INSANE!
Pure and simple... a masterpiece
Masterpiece
I brought you guys into the world of A7F at the most perfect time.
That you did Jeff. Wow
I think this song is quite pretty, thank you
I've been listening to Avenged Sevenfold since the summer before 6th grade (2005) and they have changed their sound for literally every album. They only have one miss in my opinion and it's Hail to the King....and even that album has some bangers. I personally don't get why people don't like this album. It's a masterpiece! The song Cosmic has been on repeat since the album dropped, it's seriously just top to bottom incredible. So glad y'all did a reaction to this one
Good review guys. I have been a fan of them since the beginning and I feel like they have grown with me. Music has grown stale for me over the years and they always change their sound, and I am here for it.
Do “This Means War “ next
It’s time.
Avenged Sevenfold - Exist
Please check out either MIA or Seize the Day or Lost by Avenged Sevenfold! My most played songs
9:50 I mean sure if you ignore a song on the album like Seize The Day. I think those fans don't know what they're talking about.
Now React their old masterpiece ones!
best song in the album
I was the 1000 like👍
Their Magmus Opus
The thing that makes A7X my favourite is that they do experiment with sound. Yet every genre, style, effect. Call it what you will, look through the lense of musicians exploring the soundscape available to all humanity and reaching places noone ventured before ❤
Also everyone comment on everything, get A7X back to Australia!❤🤟
Masterpiece ✨
My own summer. Duh
I don't know you guys at all but I can tell you are sweethearts, both of ya :)
I feel sad 😢
Damn! Matt got his voice back
This album gives me "Use your Illusion" GnR vibes
I love the evolution of A7X!
Love this song!
I don’t get how people aren’t liking this song
A7x is lifeline❤️❤️
Hoping more A7x reactions!
its funny, im not a fan of nothing, just enjoy and like music bc of just that, but i put a7x probably in my top 3 favs bands, and this album ita probably top 3 a7x album for me, the stage 1st and CoE in the top to, now when this album drop i was like wtf is this, and then i was listening again and again, i mean, my fav bands are Iron maiden 1st and probably rhapsody (of fire) 2 bc i like a loooot power metal, whatever coamic ita probably top 10 a7x songs at least for me.
What I don’t understand is that the sound is not that different from The Stage. But the Stage had an excellent old school single with “The Stage”.
Other than that the album is as progressive as this one but not as good. They don’t go to Hail from the King to this. And by the way I don’t remember any of this bitching about the new sound when The Stage was put out 3 years later
The rev voice part " i'm gone " ???
I don't think that's Rev but I can hear it.
I was tripping hard on 🍄 and cosmic made me sob, in the best way
🥹💙🖤💙
Massive Pink Floyd vibes
