Hue's cuisine is honestly one of the best in Vietnam, my mom said it's because it was one of the former capitals and the emperors used to live there

Vietnamese food is very diverse in taste. What makes it so is the spice. Dishes between regions are seasoned differently. The North is frugal, the Central is rich and spicy. Sweet South.
Lau "Hot pot" , Com Tam bi thit nuong " Broken rice Grill pork or combination, Banh Cuong " Steam Flour rice crepes with shrimp or pork, Banh canh cua " crabs noodle soup, Huu tieu , and com binh dan "Traditional vietnamese dishes", banh mi xieu mai " meatball and break dish, Bo kho " beef stew, banh khot " fried crepes flour with meat or shrimp you guys need to try these dishes. Fish Sauce vs peanut Sauce, most fried ,grilled noodles or rice with meat or seafood use fish Sauce and other Boiling or Steam dishes then roll with Herbs then use peanut Sauce or shrimp paste Sauce.

Chase and Shelb - Isn't it fun to eat VN food where you can add different stuff to your bowl or plate before you eat it, it makes you feel like you just prepared the food yourself. The rice sheet wrap dishes are also fun as you can see, AND smell, and taste the fresh vegetables and herbs in the wrap. They have so many different dipping sauce and I don't recall any sauce that are "fattening" in particular.
Yes it’s a blast eating Vietnamese good! Everything is so tasty and there are many sauces and herbs you can add! 🙏🏼

I am Vietnamese, the dishes you are filming, we eat every day. But, when I see you eating, I still want to eat, even though I'm very full right now :D
I knew the first two things you tried wrapped in banana leaves wasn't going to be popular...it's the same as the other thing you tried in another Vietnamese city that was wrapped in banana leaves (the pyramid shaped one that's like mochi on the outside and filled on the inside). I think it's more difficult for Westerners to eat those things due to the texture. If you ever have to wrap things up in rice paper like that, lay down the lettuce or largest leaf first, then layer on the other stuff...for that lemongrass skewer, I'd put that on last and then wrap your hand around it with the layers around of veggies/herbs and pull the skewer out. Then tighten your wrap and dip.
as a truviet we love to finish our veggies & herbs that's how we njoy our foods not only healthy but easy ofr digestion that's why we can chowhound more...have fun & njoy your stay in nam!

Guys in all my life I have never seen anyone eat banh khoa with a wrapping before. This is the first time seeing it. Usually we eat it with lettuce and mint and yes cucumbers.

Vietnamese eat the shrim with shell (the soft middle part). It has favor and chewable or edible calcium is good for bone.
those shrimps are meant to consume as a whole, yes, we do cook that shrimp to eat the shell as well. In Vietnam, some shrimps are cook to eat as a whole things.

These two flour a cases with shrimp & pork chop meat inside it a flavor of people from Hue City most taste with original fish sauce and hot chili paper like Thailand hot paper ! And special beep soups they call ( bun bo Hue).

Tip for crossing street in Vietnam:
Many tourist foreigners scared of traffic in VN . Don’t worry about it! The rule to win this fear is keep routin slowly walking when you across the streams of motobike! motor-bykers knows how to avoid you themself in chaos-order! remmember do not runs and stop suddently , accident immidiatly ! Don’t be affraid off and do it if you want to be safety in the crazy- traffic in Vietnam.

You've been eating some unique and some rare food but it seems really satisfying that fits to your budget. Those were most likely veggies no sweetened food, is it 10/10!? Never thought that piece of paper could be eaten wrapped around it's like lumpia in the Philippines.
It’s absolutely delicious! Everything is very fresh. Lots of veggies! But they do add sugar to a lot of the sauces. Which is totally fine :) omg we miss lumpia!
@@ChaseandShelbs Lumpia has nothing on Vietnamese fried spring rolls. Of all the eggroll variations out there, the Vietnamese version is the best (the pork version is delish, but if you can find the ones with pork and seafood, then you're golden.) Also, the way it's eaten is the best as it's typically wrapped up in lettuce and herbs and dipped in fish sauce...which is how a lot of Vietnamese foods are eaten.
Of all the countries I've visited in Asia, Vietnam is one of my favorite to visit when it comes to food. I really looooove their food!!!!! And it's so healthy too.
Just wondering, have you tried eating snails there? When we went there, almost all food stalls there has snails in their menu and it tastes soooo good!

I never made it to Hue when I was living in Vietnam, so I love seeing what the locals eat! Maybe a Vietnamese person will correct me, but bánh khoái just seeing like báhn xèo but either a different dipping sauce. Am I missing something?! Hahaha. Either way, it looks freaking amazing. 🤤

banh khoai is different -- it is distinct to Hue and it is much smaller than banh xeo and much thicker and stays crispy! & yes the dipping sauces are different.

Hue has a ton of history and honestly the best good in vietnam that we tried.. sooooo delicious! And I see lotuslatte helped us out with the other question. Different food and sauces for different parts of vietnam 🥰

Tourists always talk about Hanoi and Saigon cuisine. For me a Vietnamese, I always think Hue cuisine is the best in Vietnam, second by Danang cuisine. I have some friends from Hanoi who agree with me, haha.
Hue food rules!! It was too good for words! Literally everything 😍
Hue cuisine is good because it's not overly sweet like Saigon, but also has a lot of herbs, which Hanoi lacks. But I hear Hai Phong also has great food. Too bad Hue and Hai Phong cuisines aren't as well known.
