Oh the mark 2 is a fantastic Gundam and it is nice that even in High Grade, it is still recommendable. I heard many stories about how the RG is fantastic when it comes to models but the HG being just as good is something that I can appreciate. Very soild short review of the kit!
The Mk II is one of my favorite designs, and the HG revive is great. The kit has extremely minimal seam lines and excellent color separation on the suit itself, great proportions, and very good articulation. I was slightly disappointed with the seam lines and lack of color separation on the weapons, but that's to be expected with most HGs. Nothing a bit of cement and paint can't fix. The RG might be a bit better, but I was very happy to get this as an HG and the Titans version as the RG.
While the HG is a great beginners choice, the RG MK. II has compleatly made it obsolete in my eyes. The RG still feels like the anime design, but with way sharper detail and the movable frame showing what it really capable of in those amazing legs.
The RG predates the HG revive by like 3 years. I built both when they first came out (and the Titans HG revive recently). The shoulders on my RG have always sagged after a while, whereas the HG is more sturdy and easier to fix if the polycaps get loose. The HG revive is also more compatible with other gunpla (standard joints, backpack holes, etc. that the RG lacks). They have pretty different visual stylings, too. I personally prefer the stockier, almost muscular proportions on the HG revive.
It honestly depends on what you're looking for. If you want a simple kit with great results across the board, the HG is the one; if you want engineering to the max and a realistic aesthetic, the RG is the one.
I feel like this is the Mk.II to get if exteme posing is what you want. I have the RG, and while I can agree with the general consensus for that kit, that one has a restricted waist rotation due to how the frame is designed; something which doesn't seem to be a problem for the HGUC Revive.
The HG I think is the more generally solid one overall. I would try the RG if there's enough demand for it, but I've heard good things about it. Funny to hear that it has some restrictions that the HG solved by engineering though
I have the Titans color version. It's was my third gunpla kit behind Cherudim SAGA and because of it I'm gonna display it as Kamille's stolen Unit 03. Btw you should check out Cherudim SAGA, the Build Fighters one, as there's no original 00 version so far.
That's a nice kit to get started with, kudos. And I have reviewed the Cherudim SAGA way back in the day. I wanna seek out another one just to paint it into the standard version, but I either pay an arm and a leg for second-hand versions, or Bandai would make the original 00 version before I do. Trust me, I wanna redux that video
Branagher did use a modified gundam MK 2 which able use the bean magnum without breaking the arm while firing it, appear in the lastest manga I think ?😮 pretty cool 😮🎉❤
Just to show the animation and design improvement between 0079 and Zeta. The MK II is vastly more interesting to look at than the RX-78 despite being the "bland basic boy."
I already have the Titans color of this guy, which was definitely very solid, so I might get the AEUG color eventually, especially considering I screwed the Titans one over with bad panel lining lol
I don’t know who it was but they were saying that the revive Mk II has horrible shoulder movement and that it couldn’t even reach over hold the secondary handle on the beam riffle, then I got my own and it was perfectly able to do it no problem
Certainly on my wish list! Not sure if HG or RG, tho. Also really pondering about brushing up my old, old Warhammer painting skills to spent more time on models and make them look better.
The RG is a really nice kit IMO. Only thing i suggest you is to paint the metallic details and invest in some clearcoat and waterslide decals to give it a nice finish

Keep in mind that the All-Gundam Project and Revive kits started over 10 years ago now, and Bandai has kept at that standard ever since, so it's nothing like kits from the 90s and 2000s. Studies are going finely, thanks for the luck

I'm thinking of doing that at some point, but it's not high on my priority since I'm not particularly fond of the F91. If I can find the Harrison version though, that's a stronger incentive for that
@mj2005gundam Honestly I can see why, personally I think HGUC F91 need sort of improvement/revive cuz it feels fragile (the VSBRs connector especially)
Can you do more Redux reviews for the older HG kits like the HG 00 line and HG AGE line? I like those kits a lot but nowadays not many of those are reviewed anymore
Redux means I've reviewed them before I changed my format. But if I could find them for a good price and make the time to do so, I shall. I've reviewed quite a lot of AGE kits back in 2022 though, so you might wanna check those out
Sorry to disappoint, but I do not intend to review the HG Destroy Gundam. It's way too large for me to handle, and too expensive as well, at like over £100 including shipping from HLJ.

i ordered a high grade unicorn gundam as my first model kit but due to some unfortunate events i had to delete the order and try to find another place to buy my first kit, i ened up in a small store and i got this and it's amazing, i love his design i love the weapons the mobility, he falls off a bit too much but i hope it's cuz of some mistakes i made, he's cool and i hope i will have the chance to build more kits, also i have a question i have an unutilized piece and i don't knopw where it goes, it's the pc number 1
It falling apart might be due to your handiwork since mine is solid until the end, but it's a great kit and a happy accident nonetheless. The PC you mentioned is the universal standard neck joint, which was omitted because the Mk-II uses a custom one
Depends. If it requires a large-scale recolor, I'd use an airbrush with Mr Hobby/Gaianotes paints. If only small details need painting in, I usually just stick with markers
l might if I find a fresh one for a good price. Or, if I can dig out all the parts of my old one, and my experimental video format goes well with the audience

If you get the Titans version, you'd have less to paint. But other than that, I'm generally satisfied that I got into this kit again since last time

nah, the kit isn't as sturdy and will get very loose. not a good trade off imo for a bit more detail

Great re-review. I've been eyeing the Mk-ii for over a month alongside the Gundam Ground-type.
Despite the work needed for the weapons, it's a very solid model kit.

So long as you don't easily get burnt out from building the same kits twice, you should have a good time with it

Colors are down to your choice. For what it is, the HGUC Mk II Revive is a solid kit all around

I enjoyed building this one, but the RG version is also better because of the color correcting parts for the weapons.
Granted, the RG is produced with a higher budget, so can't really blame them. I might get the Titans one as an RG if people want to see my take on it
