Zhang is the Chinese George Foreman!!! The way he's so relaxed in the ring, so agile for such a massive guy, the way he walks through his opponents punches, but most of all, the way he's so heavy handed even his lighter shots made Joyce shudder reminds of Big George Mark II. And like George, he's gonna be dangerous well into his 40s.

Joyce looked so slow, like he was punching underwater, Zhang after 1st round knew that it's not gonna last very long, just nailing him with everything for 2 rounds and that right hook that ended the fight was a pure beauty!

I think if they rematched and Zhang actually showed up Hrgovic with his same performance gets knocked down and possibly TKOed and this is coming from Croatian. I think Zhang was nervous in that fight because it was such an important fight.
The replay of that first left in round 2 was absolutely brutal.

Zhang is a dangerous heavyweight because he's actually a techinicalled skilled boxer with decent footwork and explosive hand speed + power. He knows when to let those hands go. Another thing that impresses me is the way he uses his footwork to move in and out of range, and also put more power into the punches. Dangerous heavyweight!

Can only describe that performance by Joyce as bizarre. He didn't just look like he'd never boxed before, but he looked like he'd never seen anybody else box before! Don't know what he was thinking, apart from that he didn't want to be in that ring. Zhang is a class act.

It looks like Zhang knew exactly what he was gonna do and executed the plan early and effectively. Joyce is slow and stationary and Zhang is constantly working and has cold intentions in EVERY punch . Nicely done

That was a clinical finish from Zhang. It was well timed(teased him with the left jab and followed it quickly with that heavy right), time-bound (round 3 was just perfect, we didn't have to watch 12 rounds of punishment), and timely(10 seconds to the end of the round.. and that was a very fast count to 10)....
On the flip side, heavy weight boxing has become boring.. with Tyson Fury holding unto belts, not fighting the real people, and having social media and celebrity fights, Usyk enjoying bouts with amateur knee-taking D, Anthony Joshua now a shadow of himself, happy to win a 7-day unprepared fighter, Deontay Wilder warming gyms till when, Andy Ruiz...? 😀 where is he?.. and disappointing Dallian Whyte ...I mean these guys should make the real fights happen
He's only fought guys George Foreman's trainer could beat. When he KO's the equivalent of Ken Norton , Ron Lyle and Joe Frazier he can be called a good fighter. He hasn't fought anyone yet so we don't know if he can really fight. He's not "Thrilla in Manilla" material.

The way Zhang moves with confident, with the forceful punch and the one punch walk away reminds so much of the great George Foreman. He is just one match away to be the World Champion!

Joyce was heavily warned that he would get sparked out! And it certainly happened. Zhang was overlooked and under estimated AGAIN by team Joyce.
Zhang is a brilliant fighter. Tall, strong, technical and surprisingly fast for his size. Hopefully he gets good paydays for his next few fights. 5 years younger and he would have been a serious problem for all HWs.
I think he could do Fury. Zhang is elusive, has power, and doesn't get greedy. He's a very intelligent boxer.

Zhang knew he had nothing to fear from Joyce after the first fight, JJ is lucky Zhang's age kept him from finishing him even earlier. All throughout JJ's career he's only known how to do a few simple things good and when he finally met a south-paw with a KO punch...he never saw any of it coming.

Joyce was clearly afraid of Zhang from the beginning of the match, not daring to approach the Chinese at a small distance, and Zhang noticed that and took advantage of Joyces's fears and started punching him hard until a window opened where Zhang knocked Joyce in style with his right hand. All respect to Zhang. I think it's time for Joyce to retire. He's too slow now, and not quite motivated. Better now than later, before being more humiliated in the coming fights, damaging his good record. He's 38, he can be proud of his overall achievements.

Everything Joe Joyce said about Anthony Joshua after the Usyk defeats has been said about Joe in the last 18 or so hours, which just shows u how harsh a loss is. Unfortunately we all deal with loss differently, coz id even forgotten that Zhang lost to Hrgovic last year because he looked so confident in his fights following that defeat, whereas Joe looked like a lost puppy and it was just hard to watch even tho I was supporting Zhang. It's hard watching a dude who was so confident just 4 months ago, be completely humbled to the point where he looks like an amateur

Zhang has crazy knock out power and he is also a quite crafty Southpaw..idk man he knocked out the Juggernaut with ease that was super impressive.
Rewatching this before the upcoming fight of Zhang vs Parker. If Parker manages to be fleet-footed and avoid the accurate jabs and combinations of Zhang (which is easier said than done), then he's got a chance of winning. If Parker actually pulls off attacking from the side with counter hooks, then we might see one of the best career resurgence in boxing.
But to be honest, I think Zhang might win just from accurate power punches until Parker gives out. The only bad thing about this matchup is that these two guys are great, and I hate to see either of them lose.
Joyce was outclassed physically but more important psychologically. He knew Zhang was coming with the left and he still got caught with it. For Zhang's size he is deceivingly quick handed and moves well. That knockout was a nice right hand counter, a thing of beauty. That knockout was a decisive way to end the fight.

Lets not forget.. Joyce was in a mandatory position, and didnt have to take either of these fights. Zhang gave a decorated fighter like Hrgovic absolute hell, and he still chose to fight him when he didnt need to.
He came unstuck sadly, but he at least spoke volumes of his willingness to fight the best. Which is more than we can say for most other fighters in this current era...

That Zhang due has never been put down once since his prof career. After watching he vs Wilder, I dare to say he's got the biggest punch power amongst all heavyweights, like old George in his days.
Facts and unlike Wilder Zhang can KO both low ranked bums and mid tier fighters to elite top ranked fighters and actually has skill and footwork and overall great fundamentals.

It's extremely difficult when a fighter has your number to then come back and win a rematch. Zhang inflicted such a devastating loss on Joe in the first fight, that coming into the second, weighed heavily on his mind. Zhang looked much more comfortable and confident in the second fight whereas Joyce looked timid. Beating your opponent should come naturally it doesn't come by jumping up and down on the spot overthinking your next move due to a previous loss. All it takes is the slightest lapse in concentration and it's over. Hope Joe comes back from this bigger and better 🙏
Not only is Zhang heavy handed but he's very very accurate. Joyce's punches wouldn't have troubled a featherweight tonight. I heard he has no plans to retire, big mistake in my view he's already taken far too many heavy punches in his career and he's easier to hit than ever.

Zhang is one of those guys that might have gone through his whole career without anyone noticing him and with all the top guys silently avoiding him. But props to Joyce, he unwillingness to shy away from any challenge has now put the spotlight on Zhang. It's just a shame it's come so late in his career. No way will guys like Fury, Wilder or Joshua want to risk fighting him now but everyone knows he can only have a couple of years left in him at best. Such a shame.
