215 is perfectly normal engine temperature.
If you hold the two inner bottom buttons on the steering wheel it will pop. Up pages you can scroll through and it will show engine temp which is the coolant temp with various other things
Yessir working onna hemi just like yours , definitely gonna cop the thermostat
Congrats 🎈🎉🎊🍾 on your sponsorship. Only the beginning of more to come. Sporting a goatee 🧔🏻♂️, nice ! ForReal Peace Out ✌🏽
Thank you!
proud of you bro , keep going !
Hey man really love your work just started up my own srt8 page barelly in the works but learning all these tips and trick cant thank you enough
For sure bro. I’m glad to be able to help in any way I can. Props to you too for starting your own page. Keep grinding and be consistent, good things will happen💯
Good shit ‼️ 💯
Congratulations bro‼️🔥💪🏽
💯🤘🏻
Yup good gotta run the 180 with time
Thanks for this video bro I’m gonna get a 180 thermostat for my 5.7 300
It's Lit!
First sponsor🤝 jus the start
@srtdave how much antifreeze did you lose or leaked out? Back in the old days we would drain fluid from the block or radiator, but in you let the engine sit, cool and the fluid drain to the block, radiator and the reservoir it probably won’t wast much on the change. Also when I do mine I’ll have the fans kick on at 200°. Gr8 vid
Congrats on the sponsorship
Honestly mane I feel like in next few months ur gonna gain a lot of love, are you going to cam your car
That’s the goal appreciate that man !
Hey bro I wanna ask if watched a lot of videos on a thermostat replacement. But I also know u have to burp the system with an allen where the water pump is. Do you happen to know what size allen it is?
I’m not exactly sure of the size of the Allen key sorry
thinking the AC will work better with a colder stat..
This and a kn filter were my first mods. Second was exhaust - remove those resonators!!!
Congrats on the sponsor
🤝
I’m gonna try this I have a 6.1 and I have gone through numerous Thermostats trying to keep it under 215. The temps always fluctuates over 215 under 230 I can’t keep it at or under 215. It’s frustrating! Thanks for the vid
Glad I could help
Has your car had any issues with this then and Thermostat , also what all mods are you running ? I actually ordered my thermostat 3 days ago as well waiting for it to come in
I haven’t had any issues with the tstat. I only run the 180 in the summer because once the weather gets colder outside, the car runs too cool and throws a check engine light. But in the hotter months the 180 tstat works great.
Just bought one off Amazon hopefully it's legit "for a 6.1 300" my cars been running hot when accelerating hard
It will but tuning will make the thermostat perform how it should. You can still do it without a tune tho
@@srtdave I have a 180 tstat installed but it's a cheap brand from oriellys lol. I tuned my fans with my diablo tuner but it's still running at 215 and goes up even higher. So hopefully this fixes it
@@BaggdaddySRT make sure you bleed your system and make sure the coolant is filled correctly
@@srtdave yeah it is. I read reviews on the tstat I have and there all bad wish I would've seen before. This all happened just recently too so I'm sure its toast
@@BaggdaddySRT good luck with the new one!
I cant wait to do rolls bro! don't forget to bleed your system.
Do you know what size allen it is to burp the system?
@@5.7_Angel don’t remember off the top of my head.
You didn't have to set the thermostat to 12 o clock?
You do. I didn’t realize I had to do that until after so I went back in and turned it the right way
Tune
You do know that that was oil temp right
I don't think this guy knows a spark plug from a wheel bearing.
Stopped as soon as i saw the blankie
dont buy that tuner. the predator 2. i got mine from american muscle, and it was a $400 paper weight. the software was bugged and wouldnt update, but you need to update for it to work, as per the instructions and tuner itself. AM wouldnt help, they made it a huge hassle to get a return. so im not shopping at either anymore.
Isn't that gonna burn your fans out way faster?
Doing a test run with the fans coming on at 180 right now. If anything seems to be weird, I’m going to raise the fans to 192.
@@srtdave good idea! Keep the content comming it's great stuff! I have the exact same car, which makes your videos just that much better. Bangers bro 💯
@@redpilllife4life198 you already know 🤘🏻
I thought the srt would be alot faster than the 300c... looks like they are abt 1/2 to one second faster in the 1/4 mile.. the srt engine is 30 pounds heavier than the 5.7 so that makes a difference.
My 5.7 has a tune , headers , and weight reduction at the back , and bro that shit surprises me , with some proper tires and a wheel I’m pretty sure I would eat stock maros and mustangs
Y’all these 180 thermostats don’t be lasting long smh i think oem is your best bet to go with wish i still had my oem
Why? What happened?
@@calvinharper1106 duralast stats from autozone horrible
This is ignorant. The engine is designed to run at those "high" temps which really isn't hot. Running cooler = more friction = dramatically increased engine wear.
Explain your method on how it wears faster, are there examples I could see? I'm genuinely curious
Runs cooler while cruising but temperature goes up when pulling
