I bought an 08 srt8 challenger for under 20k (with under 100k miles) and I’m very happy with my choice. Poor interior quality but that’s not what I bought it for.

@@countalucard3405 yeah. Now I have a brand new 2020 rt challenger in frostbite blue and I swapped in a peanut butter hellcat interior and did lots of carbon too. It feels rly luxurious and it’s a perfect daily.

I’m buying a WK1 SRT8 next week. Where should I begin? Supposedly has ported intake and head. Definitely has Paramount built trans, transfer case, and axles. Bassani x-pipe. 90mm throttle body. 5” intake.

Opening line is spot on, until I drove a couple of SRT8's back to back. Love the chassis, the Tr6060, and the pushrod motor. So simple and reliable I'd you take a split second to shift. It's no Miata on the shifting and handling, but it is such a good highway car. I love taking it down back roads.

I’m in the market to buy one. I no longer have my R/T Daytona or my 2010 SXT. I’m seeing some 08-13 SRT8s I’m debating on whether to get the 6.1 or 6.4. I know I’m getting another 50HP with the 6.4 but I’ve heard the 6.1s take boost a lot better
@@4linesav The older car is cheaper. Mods bolt on easily, so you would end up with what you want for the same entry price on a newer car. Plus fuel cost is insane at the moment. Thanks Prez!

As I’ve said it before I enjoy this channel a lot everything is very well explained I am actually learning something each and every episode guessing probably because instead of talking like a radio DJ like most car channels everything is clearly spoken as if in person. I have a 2016 dodge ram 57 hemi 4 x 4 it has a carb legal intake and straight pipe. Hemi’s sound mean. And can definitely hold their own in the morning cold start noise pollutionKeep up the good work sir

Very impressive truly I just finished purchasing a 2006 SRT8 300 and I think I will use your recipe to gain the power like that Challenger keep up the excellent work with your video contents but I am definitely going to be taking notes unfortunately the one that I bought is just over 200000 km on it but I figure good tear down rebuilt and do the mods we should be good to go thank you once again👍🏾💪🏽🙏🏽🍻

That said, let me tell you how absolutely jealous I am of that 2nd gen V wagon! Been lusting after one of them for a couple years now, and you would know...about the time my income made enough of a jump to finally start shopping for one seriously, the used car market as a whole went up dramatically as well. Havent seen one for sale with acceptable miles for less than $55k in quite a while (many are $60k+), unless it had a rebuilt or salvage title, and that one was still high 40's and questionable on the repair job.

Bought my 09 srt with 30k miles for under 10k love it and haven’t done any mods yet just changed interior panels to red suede, been loving it but I’d love to get under the hood now

How much do you think I’d have to spend parts wise to do this?… of course I want more power, how much more will I need to spend to make it even faster with smaller pully, etc. I owned a 07 srt8… sold it…. Miss it.. wanna get another one but I’m wondering if I should buy a stock one or just get a built one.
Honestly if it was me I’d recommend you go corvette. Unless you’ve really got some pull to the srt8 in particular, the c6 is similar if not better value for money. The ls is a bit better to build, a bit cheaper to build, a bit more reliable and will last a little bit longer, from factory the ls3 made 430, so stock preformance is comparable but the corvette weighs a shit ton less, not to mention corvettes can go in circles too.

Hello fellow bud I'm getting a really good job soon on the oil fields cleaning in sulphuric air tanks and vessels annual is about 100k a monthly is about 9 grand so have you driven these in the snow and how was it lmfao cuase I'm lowkey want to finance or buy a used srt preferably 2012 or high buti want awd was also debating on a ctsv but there not awd and I heard hell cat can come with awd but what model or year and like damn I just want a fast car for my days off since il be gone at camp and I plan on trying to keep it and altho I'd rather right buys used car what fast cardio reccomend for our shit climate also debated on a gtr not gunna lie
@@robertmunckin7673 The only AWD models are v6s, no v8 AWDs, you can drive the V8 RWD in the snow with Snow Tires, but I have a truck I drive in the winter
@@robertmunckin7673, drove a 4.2 Jag S Type (300hp) in the middle of a blizard and while delivering pizza. Old all seasons. Driving down side streets with 6+ inches of snow and no issues.

I got an 09 manual, factory clutch with a Vortec V3 supercharger, long tubes de cat and corsa exhaust. Definitely not a hellcat but lots of fun and makes allot of noise. 100 hp less then a hellcat

Both, cam n fbo with supercharger or other force air and you will make way more power then a hellcat but for best instant power and efficiency go supercharger

I got an '09 Challenger 61 6-speed 390 gears order from factory. I was thinking about dropping a hellcat in it or a red eye used. But I think I'm selling the car had it repainted or red with a candy over that put a Shaker on it carvani it's got the louvers in the back had them match that with a black stripe going down it front headlights or blacked out sunroof car upgraded system from factory it's a limited edition car. I love it but they're not building the hellcat red eye anymore so I'm thinking about selling it to get the red eye

Those Edlbrock enforce units have low psi so that won’t be an issue.

I think you could find one for around 6-7k, but then you would need to install.

Yeah and they have trouble with the superchargers on the hell cat now plus I Dont have to pay a high car note too its pay for and i want a sleeping too plus its a project car and I can put money I save for something else

I thought the 6.1 already had all forged internals. Must just be the crank and rods.
Forged crank and "high strength steel" connecting rod. But this build was overkill for those boost levels. The 6.1 can handle 8psi all day without touching the internals

I have a 09 srt 8 challenger, I am putting a brand new 6.1 in as I blew the last one but this time I want to super charge the car and increase the hp from 425 to whatever the super charger allowed but I don’t want to blow my engine lol so what do I do?

this is what hot rodding is all about, get a 6.1 challenger for 17-18k what did this set up cost ? 12-14k and for 30k you got something stupid fast that still has a ton of head room and its unique lot of people have hellcats, 392s, you even see some modded R/Ts but these 6.1 challenger just got totally forgot about.

CTSV is GM Caddy Ls motor Mopar is Dodge, Ram Trucks, and used to be Plymouth (gone now)& Chrysler.. all mopar Stands for Motor Parts Mopar

Building a cheap hellcat....mmm you would buy a late model 2005-2010 300c body style for cheap and then boost the hell out of the 5.7 +nitrous. The damn 6.1 challenger alone is about 20+ grand for a nice gently used one....the first gen 300c are anywhere from blown motor 3grand to 9grand low mileage 5.7l. Prefer the 09-10 for the eagle 5.7. Then you would have 10grand+ to build/boost 300c.
With a built engine I would have gone with a whipple
Not to mention the 5 speeds suck in the older dodges the gears are way to long and 3rd gear falls on its face
But it needs the “ hell cat whine”

No kidding, the market is stupid right now. I bought a 2011 srt8 with 23k miles a year and a half ago for $30k with negative equity in my trade in. It was a forged 392 with a pro charger as well.

Just buy a used hellcat the build of 6.1 plus supercharger and labor tell us the price of the complete job. Has to be close to $20,000
