    If the British had withdrawn, we would have taken back not only Western Anatolia and Eastern Thrace, but also Western Thrace and the city of Thessaloniki. You lost despite the support of the British, and you are producing an alternative scenario, you funny boy 🤣

      You are talking nonsense. You only won because of massive support from France, Italy and the Soviets, which was direct aid and much more than the loans (not aid) guaranteed by Britain to Greece. And because of French and Italian threat of war against Greece if the Greek navy blockaded your ports. And because of Greek idiocy of kicking Venizelos from power, of course. Lucky bastards. Even after taking western Anatolia, you had no way of transporting troops in strength to Eastern Thrace, which was evacuated by the Greek Army only because of allied pressure so that an armistice could be effected. Of course an alternative scenario of a Greek victory would have been quite likely had Venizelos stayed in power.

      @@dimitrioskouvatsos8030 France and Italy did not help us, they occupied the Anatolian lands together with you. We fought with the French in the cities of Adana, Maraş, Antep, and Urfa in 1921, and we pushed them to Syria. Fearing the bloody results of the war, Italy surrendered Southwest Anatolia to us, and the Soviets supported us with arms, but the British also provided you with arms, and the England of the 1920s was a much stronger country than the Soviets.

    • @dimitrioskouvatsos8030
      @dimitrioskouvatsos8030 Před 2 lety +5

      @@turkicpatriot1923 You really need to study the history of that war better. I do not downgrade Turkish resistance to the Greek Army, was was indeed fierce, brave and determined. The Italians were never significantly involved. It is true that you initially had to fight the French also, but after Venizelos was ousted French policy towards Constantinist Greece radically changed, since it was viewed as a British ally; as a result, in 1921 an agreement was concluded in Ankara for the Turks to receive massive amounts of French arms and munitions from Cilicia and Syria, while in exchange they recognized French rule in Syria. The Soviet assistance to the Kemalists was far larger in volume than you seem to realize, while the British were lukewarm towards Greece; only premier Lloyd George was pro-Greek but the whole foreign policy establishment around Lord Curzon was against him and called for the withdrawal of Greek forces. And, finally, the Greek Navy could blockade all Turkish ports, or the Greek Army cound easily capture Constantinople, actions which would be decisive but forbidden by the Allies. It is the Greek idiocy of ousting Venizelos, bringing back pro-German Constantine and thus turning the Allies against Greece (even Britain stopped military collaboration with the Greeks after that) that decided this war's outcome, snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory. You were lucky.
