He didn´t really speak up for small channels, he just basically forgot that animators exists and that alot of slow channels(that require to work on their content and not do meme reviews or drama videos) are now dead because of this. I´ll take what Philly D said, go to Patreon go to Teespring and build stuff from there.

Yes, but the problem is when a channel can’t get discovered. Nobody starts a channel in search of money, (so long as they have a passion and drive to create) But there comes a time when you need money to keep producing quality content, but you can’t make money without being discovered. Then you get stuck in a rising scale of higher quality content without the money to supplement it, and you still aren’t getting discovered.

It's the subscription system that is killing channels. No one gets alerts when I post a new video anymore. I went from 30,000 or so views in the first day on a new video, down to about 1,000 views a day.

The answer to this issue has always been quite and simple: Do CZcams videos if you are doing out of love and passion for making videos, not for the money. Look at the most successful CZcamsrs out there, I mean, LOOK AT FELIX, every year he has come out and said that he has never done this for the money, but rather the fact that it is something he enjoys and loves doing, that's what makes a CZcamsr successful, love for what they are doing.
Don't treat CZcams as a job, because it was never meant to be one.

I live in Sweden and have worked very very hard to do nice videos of a lot of different things going on in this beautiful country.
My goal then I started the channel one year ago was not to earn fast money from ads,
but show people what is going on in southern Sweden, that many people miss.
As a spin-off I hoped to get same paid work from one or another viewer that had the need for a videomaker by them selfes or at their work, and tip their boss.
It's a slow process, but I do have some paid jobs now and then, and I do it as a part time job.
Mostly of my videos isn't depending on understanding Swedish. I only have 64 subs, and 59 000 views that is a disappointment, but I do what I wants to do and I'm pleased with that.
The new policy was a slam in the face then I got the message from CZcams, but PewDiePie explanied it better than CZcams ever would.
But, I don't think it's the right way to go. Small creaters need some carrots...

I find it crazy that they won't admit to recommending ad friendly content. We've all seen the spikes when a video goes from no ads to ads and the dips when the opposite happens. If small channels can't advertise, it will take them way longer to reach 1K.

I’ve been doing CZcams for 5+ years and I’ve enjoyed it so much, I try to care little about viewing / subscriber figures cause I’m grateful for what I do get, though I feel like if I’ve been doing it for 5 years and there’s more than likely people like me who try so hard and they get little recognition and it’s one of many reasons what turns people off from CZcams especially with the competition. It’s important to know that frustration comes from trying to be noticed.
I’ve continued to keep going despite the odds of just gaining a little more recognition and just enjoy what I do have. Because I enjoy what I do but I would like more people coming to the channel because I love the interaction it’s literally one of my favourite parts about CZcams! Your dream goals are impossible if you don’t try, and admit-tingly small if you do try, but the chance is still there and you increase the likelihood of something from it the more you put in, the more you get out Hope this inspires someone 🤗

CZcams has been trying to clamp down on content thieves, and unsavoury content for a long time, and I firmly believe it's to do with all that.
I think something like this change to the Partnership Program isn't planned overnight, and the issues with the Pauls are just down to poor timing.

9:10 - I completely agree! I'm a VERY small channel and it doesn't really effect me at all but when they changed their policy it gave me something to work TOWARDS. Now I have legitimate milestones to try to overcome. I don't think I'll make revenue off my channel but it's nice to think that I'm working toward's something. The obvious goal is to make the best possible content I can make! The ad revenue is secondary, and if you truly enjoy making videos and doing the CZcams thing you'll just grin and bear it and keep grinding on!
I'm a small channel but I have to agree with him on it, it is going to suck trying to get 1,000 subs and it is hard to keep staying motivated sometimes but in the end it's going to all be worth it, just keep going and give it time. Love your subs and the community you're building and it'll end up being an amazing achievement in your life

I've said this before, but being a youtuber is a creative career similar to being an actor or painter. You need to be creative and a self motivator. Pursing a creative career takes a long time to make a living from and the competition is always high. If you're interested in it and can handle a side job or other sources of income until you can make your interest into a career, then that's that.That's how the lifestyle's been for creative career pursuers unless you get the rare chance that you're successful from the start.
I always encourage people into pursuing creative interests if they want to make their hobby into a career. So I support you all who want to do this. It may take longer to get where you want to be, but if it's still an interest and goal for you, then heck yeah, go for it.

Small amount of money is a relative thing. Not sure where he is getting his $4 number. But I made $2,000 on my channels before I was summarily cancelled across all of them. I realize that's chump change to Felix who is making millions. But when the Adpocalypse hit him personally, he was singing a different tune. It is not all about having fun and making videos any longer.
