My 4x6' HO Scale D&H Layout is FINISHED!!

- In todays video we take a tour of my "FINISHED" HO scale D&H themed layout called "Littleville." This layout is a little over 1 year old and is a mere 4x6', however you can get lost in its classic 1970's themed scenery, and watch the Delaware and Hudson roll by on its two mainline tracks. Although it's clearly not a big layout, who says you have to have a big layout to have fun?! I hope you enjoyed this video, remember to like the video and subscribe to my YT channel if your new so you don't miss out on my many future HO and O scale videos coming!
Thanks for watching!
REMEMBER!!!!!
Follow Littleville's own FB page called "Littleville on The Little D&H, My 4x6 HO scale layout" to see exclusive content! Thanks!
I enjoyed every bit of it. Amazing for such a small space. Less is more.
You got a lot of detail in that layout. The fact that you have an actual history of your town is equally impressive. Well done.
Very impressive. I love the story behind it too. Great job on the layout. Thank you for sharing this with us. 😊
Fantastic model Corey. You must be very proud.
Absolutely nothing wrong at all with modeling the 70's. Probably one of the best era's to model with so many roads still in existence, very unique locomotives in use, and that you can get trains, cars and buildings for that era. I like tiny layouts as well. I like the "coffee table" type ones and am always impressed with how much can be crammed into such a small space. Even the 2x2 layouts are amazing.
I get the idea of being nostalgic for a time I never lived in. I was born in the 70s, but am nostalgic for the 50s & 60s.
Additionally, my favorite railroad is also of "home team" flavor, that being the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad.
Great video and great layout!
Lots of great used books available about the railroad a person is interested in (helpful to find authors that also have a love for that railroad because they will understand that everything around the railroad is also important, cars, trucks, buildings and people.) I kept trying to find a railroad that was a mainline yet not huge and I found the Second Section Podcast and the SOO LINE is interesting for me. Difficult to sometimes find people who admit that they are struggling building a model railroad so that we always have information and experiences to share. I like how this model railroad has a road going through it, meaning it is a part of a bigger world!
I liked this video! Enthusiastic and passionate, author reminds me of myself 40 years ago.
Wow. Ok, so I have a small space and was wondering what was possible…. The answer is apparently EVERYTHING!
Very nice. I really enjoy seeing small well done layouts. Goes to show, you don’t need a basement empire to enjoy the hobby!
Great layout. You, sir, did a wonderful job on the scenery and detailing. Be very proud of your workmanship.

HO will always be my 2nd favorite scale since you can do so much in a small space and a huge variety of locomotives and rolling stock. The Layout looks great, I like those Baldwin rf-16 sharks you got.
My grandfather was an engineer on the d&h out of albany and my great grandfather was an engineer on the NYC steamers. My father started in conrail in late 70s then Amtrak. Me no railroad work but lots of modeling. Nice kid.
I like the "aging" treatments you've done. Much better than the fresh plastic look too often used.
A very nice layout. I know you claim your layout is small, but I think that makes it more manageable; it also enables you to focus more on the fine details. The chief of operations at my model railroad club has told me one should not bite off more than they can chew when it comes to model railroading and build a huge layout that is overwhelming for one person to run and maintain. By the by, the layout at said model railroad club is a 30' x 60' HO scale layout, but that's only been done through 30 years of members working on it at least three days a week.
A really interesting layout, but your narration is what made the video exceptional! Stepping back in time, no matter how recent or far is what a great period train layout does. I can't imagine baseball, castles or railroads without history. Thanks for showing us what it means. Well done! T4
Tiny Town Trains TV thank you very much! Iʻm glad you liked this video, for me I really dig this style of content so Iʻm happy its getting such good feedback. I loved digging into the history of this and there was a few cool videos I saved for next time about this like the layouts first run or the OG littleville before I built the layout haha. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!!
@@RsTrainsonYT The content is great and you're having fun doing it...that's important. Have an incredible evening! T4
Very nice layout and presentation! My 2-rail HO is just slightly smaller than yours and not as far along. You really need to re-open the restaurant though! There is plenty of foot traffic in your world to keep it busy and the farmers need a place to meet and discuss crop futures when they come to town for supplies. And it would look really neat with a few tractors parked out front at lunchtime during planting season. :) Cheers!
Thanks for the interesting by story; you certainly have the gift of the gab (I bet you haven’t heard that expression before!). Your local store needs some displays to attract more customers.
Hey Corey, my name’s Cory too and I started with a Bachman Overland Limited, expensive little hobby as I’m learning but very fun 😎👋🏻👍🏻
Great work. The D&H is a very underrated railroad. I love the red Bachmann D&H coal hopper car.
We agree, the layout is very nice, the story was even better.
Old Ohio Angler thank you haha! It’s a lot of fun to look back and reflect on how far this little things come and the story I’m writing for it (the towns fictional history if it were real) is gonna be awesome! Thanks for watching!
Excellent narrative and fantastic layout! Im a Saratogian too and love the D&H! Nice job 👍Can't wait to see your next layout
AWESOME GOOD LOOKING LAYOUT.

A beautiful layout with great narration.
Richard Greenberg thank you for the comment my friend! Glad you enjoyed the video (despite it being HO haha)!
Great storytelling! It complements the layout very nicely and the set-up looks well done.
Corey, You Have built more in the past year than i have in the past 20, its a great HO layout.
Great job!!!!!
PRETTY GOOD, PRETTY NEAT!
Very well done video. Engaging and informative.
Years ago I, cleaned up train wrecks and I've done several back then, They were common enough to make a living, but Con-rail was buying everyone out, so my time was limited. So i got a license to drive big trucks and retired from that. But yes I remember the D&H! I think that, thats cool that such a young person enjoyed building them! I'm pretty sure that the D&H was my last wreck that I went on, in Oneonta, N.Y. Thursday, July 12, 1984. I works for Winter's Railroad Service out of Langford, N.Y.
Yer crazy. So I give you 10 thumbs up……. *BEAUTIFUL* *MINI* *LAYOUT*

Corey, this by far has your been your best video. You provided so much information and that layout is fantastic. The autumn scene is always the best. Great Job!!!!!!!
Thank you George R Iʻm glad you like it that much haha 😀! I hope to do a follow up video sometime soon about the few things Iʻve added since this video already! Thank you for the kind words!

Love the weathering job on 7303. looks so darn real. Great job on the video and thanks for sharing.
Del Hudson IKR it looks sooo good! I wish the guy who weathered it was still in business he did some really good weathering. Thanks for the comment!
Wow, feels like a real place....well done...great layout
Nice job on weathering your freight cars! Great presentation too.
RocknTommy you might be surprised but everything I own has been weathered previously! All the buildings I weathered myself but Iʻve never attempted to weather a freight car or locomotive. Glad you like the video, thanks for the comment!
Very neat little layout Cory
Great Video!
Apple Napkins Railroad glad ya liked it! Thanks for the comment 🚂!
Super. 💙 T.E.N.
6x4 basic layouts with scenary and a lot of detail are still as impressive as larger layouts. Especially if you have some operations going, it never makes the layout boring or stale
Awesome Layout Corey!
Thank you Isaiah 😀!!
@@RsTrainsonYT You’re welcome! 🙂
You've invested an extraordinary amount of time in constructing a top drawer layout. I admire your creativity and your presentation is wonderful. Very professional.
👍 Thanks Corey... I model the old Stoney creek branch of the Reading Railroad and life creeps in between modeling and running trains. 👍
Glad you like the video Stephen! I know a few guys who model the Reading Railroad but I donʻt know of any whoʻve ever done the Stony Creek so thats super cool! For me it sometimes feels like I get sucked into my own world when running trains haha, Thanks for the comment!
Really nice layout!
Great Layout!!!
Steve thank you my friend!! Makes me wonder how much N scale or G scale track I could pack onto a 4x6 😉!! Iʻm sure Iʻll find out one day haha.
Awesome little Layout :)
Very nice layout. Well detailed and nice rollingstock.
Looks awesome, congrats! 🚂
Just passing by and was intrigued by your video. Great job, and a lot of detail in a small area. I'm an NYC fan, and am working on a 4x16' , which is small for double track passenger equipment.
I really appreciate running at realistic speeds. Looks great.
This a small layout...and it is so well done! I love New England and I got the feel of it as I watched the video. What makes this so good is your narration, your story, and your videography. IU have just subscribed to your channel. I really like your weathering of the girder bridge.
I enjoyed your well done Littleville layout featuring the D&H.I retired from the D&H in 2010 as a signal maintainer in The Saratoga area with 39 years working for them! I built a 6x9 foot layout featuring D&H and CP Rail in ho scale complete with working signals and power switches.Like you I get lot’s of enjoyment running trains and construction!
Very awesome, love the finished Layout!
Outstanding! I have my own 4x6 Pennsy layout on my CZcams channel modeled after a post-war rural industrial town.
Great job on the layout, Corey! Enjoyed the history of the railroad and the backstory to "Littleville." Your storytelling and narration really make the video for me. Very nice indeed! Bill B.
Thank you Bill 😁! I had a lot of fun filming this video so its great to see that so many people enjoyed it! I really like the style of this too so itʻll definetely be more common in the future! Thanks for the comment!
Great little layout. Scale speed running & super back-story to the layout. Thanks a lot for sharing!
Looks awesome. I am actually working on the same size layout with my kids. Space is an issue so it's great to see some layouts of the same size. Thanks for this.
Dog gone you have talent! That is awesome! This video is amazing all the way around. And I love littleville. It’s encouraging to me. Thanks for sharing!
Love the channel!
Well done young man. Your next 4'x6' should be in N Scale! You should consider a career in broadcasting, either television, radio, or maybe just stay on CZcams. You're very good with the gab.
Love the energy man! The layout looks absolutely mega too.
Great work! It is refreshing to see such enthusiasm!
Well there's plenty of that here on this channel haha! Thanks for the comment!
Hello it looks very nice layout
Great work you’re comfortable Ness in front of the camera is amazing I can see you growing as a CZcams or very easily. Wonderful presentation great backstory to your town that you’ve created it’s marvelous the whole thing was relaxing
Roland Forest thank you very much!! Iʻm pretty used to the camera now but when I started it felt sooo weird haha. Iʻm glad yoy enjoyed the video, thanks for the comment 😄!

That's neat
Love this layout! I am quite fond of smaller setups. Love the 'Sharks'!
Great video and that layout still looks pretty damn great from the Albany train show
Beautiful layout and love your narration!!!
Very nice
great little layout, really enjoyed watching it, although its a year ago since you posted it, it is a greatly detailed layout and you have done well. Also, the size of it is what is classed as a standard sized layout over in the Uk. not little 🤣 hope you are still enjoying it. fantastic 👍
Congratulations Corey great video Very impressive for a 4x6 layout and I apprecoate and share your passion for all things D&H Just remember a great layout is never finished or completed Take care Lool foward to seeing more in the future
Rod thank you my friend! I wish I could have you and some other D&H friends over one day that would be a blast! Also hey you say it best “a great layout is never finished!” You should frame that 😉! Thanks for the comment!
Really nice on littleville! Well done on it man!!
Thank you trainman1993!
What a nice little layout. Very cool really. I am collecting ideas for my future layout and I must say your D&H layout is quite inspiring.. Congrats and greetings from Brazil.
Great looking layout!
Littleville looks awesome Corey! Incidentally the layout that inspired Littleville shares alot in common with the West Plains Model Railroad Club's HO layout in that I can shrink down to a very small layout or it can grow (depending on how many members bring their modules) into a very large setup with 25+ foot front and back stretches that allows it to handle trains of 50 to 70 cars, depending on car lengths.
Thank you Randall! I wish I could expand my layout like that haha, maybe one day! Thanks for the comment!
Hey great video! Did you hear about the two sharks left were just pulled out of storage to be restored!!
Very nicely done layout, I like your history behind the town and railroad. Even with all the financial hardships the D and H had, it was always a class act. It is still a very much loved railroad in Northeast PA. I live next to the old Wilkes-Barre Connecting Railroad which the D and H and Pennsylvania Railroad both used to interchange freight and bypass center city Wilkes-Barre. Today Norfolk Southern uses it as a part of the Mainline between Harrisburg and Binghamton.
Get layout. Love the detail and the stories.
Cool layout I built a 2 x 4 n scale layout in a coffee table covered by glass still have it
Wow thats awesomw Coverdale! Makes me wonder about the worlds smallest N scale layout
Love this! Just found your channel this morning and subscribed. I really enjoy your commentary. You're a natural at this. The layout is really cool.
